chrisd596
What is the best way to get off ship early w/out all the commotion ! I was thinking, keep all my luggage, eat early at windjammer, and then proceed to exit the ship. Which deck do u exit on? Thanks Chris
mbk999
Yep. Go up grab breakfast first and then come back and pick up your luggage from your room. I'm assuming time and deck will vary by ship but the last night's compass will tell you when/where to start the departure. On our last Enchantment cruise we started the line in the theater and exited by 7:30 (can't remember which exact deck number).
WAAAYTOOO
The best way to avoid commotion and crowds for disembark is to be in a full suite and have the Concierge escort you off (this process was a disaster on Navigator in Miami. No help at all from the Concierge) or even better - have a Genie that will take you personally to the front of the line ! Short of that, being early in the line for self disembark is probably the best solution. BTW, on our Grandeur cruise last month, they started the self-disembark line by placing their luggage in position VERY early. I don't know how comfortable some would be with placing their luggage in line and then leaving it to go eat but many did it. There were LOTS of suitcases lined up with no people manning them when we got there. DocLC

BrianAlt
The deck varies based on the ship and the port. It's usually 2 or 3, but can be 5.
chrisd596
Ok, how about if you're not in a rush, and choose to relax a little and wait for the crowd to leave. We are parking at the Port. Say we try to stay on until 9am, will the Mad Rush be over by then, or will there be huge lines and car pile up at the parking lot at Cape Liberty.?? Thanks

You'll be in the thick of it still at 9 AM. The problem is there aren't really comfortable places to hang out and wait. Almost everything is closed and people are waiting in designated waiting areas to hear their numbers being called. But it's still the best way to go if you're not in a rush. DocLC
To avoid the commotion, skip the Windjammer, line up early and do self disembarkation. I haven't done breakfast on the last day of a cruise in quite some time as it isn't worth the congestion for me. I'd rather spend a few bucks at the airport and eat a little bit later. Our flight isn't until like 2pm, so we won't be in any hurry? Also, what time is the WJ open to on debarkation morning?

You'll need to check the Cruise Compass for hours, but I'm thinking it may close earlier, like 8:30. Cafe Promenade will likely be open later, though. Keep in mind you'll need to have your carry-on luggage with you wherever you go.

Maybe the best thing is to grab some stuff from WJ the day before and stash it in the cabin fridge. Or order a double continental breakfast from room service the morning before. DocLC
@FManke I actually remembered that but got the name wrong. Cafe Lattetudes would be the equivalent.
