No Royal Up because B2B

Last Lion

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to bid Royal Up on my GOTS cruise next month without success.

So I sent an e-mail to Royal asking why this is so.

Just got the reply back- I can’t Royal Up because it is the first of a B2B cruise- say whaaat?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone have any other suggestions to work around this?

I have many B2B booked but I always get an offer to RoyalUp.  I always decline b/c I would rather remain in the same cabin on both legs but being B2B in itself should not prevent you from being able to bid on a RU.  I think you got a little soft shoe from a customer rep who didn't have a better answer for you.

If there are other names on your cruise reservation, try using that person's name when you  try to RU.  That worked for me, recently.

I think the person emailing you has no clue.
I just went to Royal up to check my b2b on Anthem and Ican bid on either week.

Are you within 30 days?

Did you book with Costco or other big box Travel agency-it might not allow you to try and Royal up.

Make sure you don't leave a space after your name when you enter it,

Are you getting error messages?

Yes within 30 days- right now 24 days.

Did not book through a big box. In fact I have been successful with Royal Up in the past in the same circumstances.

Not getting an error message. It just says “confirm  your cruise is within 30 days”.

Thanks for the help Pattycruise!

try logging in twice in a row.....I know their site can be trcky.  (aka dumb)

Ampurp85: Yes it is Grandeur and yes I want to upgrade from Int to OV to match the second cruise.

If this is the case, why wouldn’t they just say so!

I have no idea, but I will say, I just got off her last Friday......there were tons of B2B. Lady G is cheap and often a casino comp. There were over 400 B2Bs on my Jan 22nd sailing, some had been there since October. Many ends up booking the next sailing through Next Cruise and interiors are crappy on this ship. Nobody really wants them, unlike on other ships.
