mschmitt Posted January 4, 2023 Report Share Posted January 4, 2023 We purchased the Ultimate Dining Package for our upcoming trip in May 2023 on the Mariner of the Seas. We did this partly because we wanted to eat sushi which can be difficult to get good sushi in the mid-west. However, we were worried that we might not get reservations for Izumi for as many nights as we would like. Then we start reviewing Matt's old Royal Caribbean Blog podcast episode 274 Izumi Japanese Specialty Restaurant. In that podcast, Matt says you can get the Izumi menu as take-out or sit at the sushi bar without reservations. This Podcast was BC "Before Covid" and might have changed if anyone had gotten take-out from the Izumi menu using the Ultimate Dining Package. Ampurp85 Posted January 4, 2023 Report Share Posted January 4, 2023 I cannot say for sure on Mariner but on many of the Oasis and Quantum class ships, Izumi as a takeout option is available. You would also be able to book another specialty dining option. I am sure @AshleyDillo will be able to chime in with a more absolute and accurate answer. For some reason or another, my oldest son's top "to do" thing for our summer cruise was to eat sushi on the balcony of our room.
