mike2608
Does anyone have suggestions regarding when to make a hotel reservation, my cruise starts Feb 24th 2023. Trying to get the best deal as possible. Will be staying the night before.
PPPJJ-GCVAB
I would book now! Actually I would have already booked for February. I book as soon as I can and if price changes...I call and get the lower price...same thing as the cruise. I fly SWA and do the same with that too...whether I use $$ or points, anytime there is a price drop...I get it!!

This really depends on what rate you book at a hotel. The lowest hotel rates are usually the ones where you pay at booking and are nonrefundable. Other rates are more expensive, but have flexibility and can be re-booked at lower rates. Definitely pros and cons to each, but something to be aware of. The vast majority of hotels will not negotiate on those nonrefundable rates.
Kat_Ehn_23
Definitely book now with a refundable rate! I have a hotel booked in Miami for May, and I was able to reprice it multiple times due to refundable/pay at check-in rates. Just track the website for whichever hotel line you're looking at. Yup I am aware of all that and guess I assumed everyone else knows it too! When booking far enough out, I prefer not to pay at that time and really haven't noticed huge differences in paying upfront or booking as refundable. Thanks for helping out anyone who didn't understand my answer above.
smokeybandit
Book ASAP. You can keep shopping as time goes on for other hotels or a cheaper rate at the one you have booked. PPPJJ-GCVAB
AshleyDillo
The further out you book the difference between refundable and nonrefundable tends to be a lot less and worth the few bucks for peace of mind it can be canceled later.
