voom surf + stream

Recommended Posts

Has anyone noticed that the price of VOOM SURF + STREAM Internet has increase significantly? I just got off the Odyssey 8-night cruise this morning (April 9-17, 22) where I paid $247.92 for 2 devices for 8-night cruise. Royal Caribbean just emailed me with their promo for my next cruise that's coming in 2 weeks; Allure 8-night cruise April 30-May 8, 2022. The VOOM SURF + STREAM Internet has increase to $327.92, that's a $80 increase for the exact same length of cruise! I can see them doing a little bit of an increase but this seems really excessive.

I definitely have noticed the price increase and think it is a lot. For my April 30 sailing, the sale price is currently offering a 10% discount only, $23.99 for Stream and $18.99 for Surf. When I purchased for 2 devices(Stream) back in Sept 2021, I only paid $195 for 7 Nights. Not sure why it has gone up so much.

$21.99 is not totally horrible but if you need it, you need it. Keep watching for a better sale if you have time before you sail.

I have a couple of Airbnb/VRBO homes that I rent out in the mountains of Western NC.  Neither site has a "Vacation Mode" for bookings so I have to respond to booking requests as they come in.  I have to be able to log onto the web sites, and accept bookings and then e-mail calendar updates to my cleaning people via G-mail.  I don't really have a need to stream anything.  I am just wondering about the Voom Surf vs the Voom Surf +Stream.

Are you able to make and receive cell calls if you are using WiFi calling?

What about phone apps (again in WiFi mode)?

Historically I have been able to use Surf only for WiFi calling.

Surf is slow.  It will take even basic web pages time to load.  If you have lots of time and don't mind waiting Surf may work for you.
