12thman Posted August 4, 2021 Report Share Posted August 4, 2021 Just received an email that my train ride in Skagway has been shortened by 45 minutes due to work on one of the bridges. Royal is offering a partial reimbursement via onboard credit. Seriously considering cancelling the whole trip. There's hardly any excisions being offered at most of the ports. Crazy that Royal is still charging $149 per adult for this excursion when you can book through the White Pass directly for $99 now! I believe the border will open early next month, but they will restrict entry to fully vaccinated persons. Even though you get off the train and immediately board buses for the ride back. BrianB Posted August 5, 2021 Report Share Posted August 5, 2021 The website for the train states the rail repairs will be completed by Sept 1 and the tour should revert back to it’s original length.
