Yep got this too as we booked this one. Crazy that Royal is still charging $149 per adult for this excursion when you can book through the White Pass directly for $99 now!

Particular question about the Gold Creek Salmon Bake excursion in Juneau, Alaska. As I understand, this excursion drops you at the salmon bake and then there are continuous shuttles returning back to the cruise docks every 20 minutes. If we want to stay for more than the 90-minute time allotted by the cruise planner will we get in trouble? I feel like this is a place where you could easily spend 2 hours or more just enjoying the scenery and food.

These the same restrictions as my cruise to Alaska next month. We have 2 kids too young to be vaccinated so we must also purchase Royal's excursions. It upsets me because the CDC does not require this, it is only a recommendation. We were not given any sort of discount for purchasing excursions. Traveling with a party of 7 has resulted in huge costs for booking excursions just to take our children off the ship and see the beauty of Alaska. This is one cruise itinerary that really is about the destination instead of enjoying the ship.

More frustrating to me is that Royal is requiring cruise sponsored excursions for anyone with unvaccinated children! We will be on an August sailing of Ovation and though the entire ship is required to be vaccinated (only those not eligible because of age i.e., under 12) I am amazed that this is a requirement!!! As a US citizen traveling completely within the US and undergoing testing requirements before boarding we are to be denied access to the beautiful ports of call that we planned the entire vacation around. People going to Alaska are not going to simply enjoy the ship and its amenities, we also chose this vacation because of the scenery and activities on land. It seems to me this is Royal's way of being extremely greedy and demanding we pay more money if we want to leave the ship. Please let me know your thoughts and how you think this can be solved!
