dflynnrubino
We received notice today that our reservations for the September 3, 2022 Greek Cruise leaving from Rome was cancelled. The message said that they cancelled because it had been chartered. Anyone know more information about why or what this means?
cruisinghawg
Seems awful close to sail date to do this.
Ampurp85
When a cruise ship is chartered they sometimes cancel the other pax. It must be a huge group because sometimes they don't even tell you a sailing has been chartered. I want to view this a good/bad thing because chartered cruises will have whole venues closed off. If it is chartered for a company, they often have activities catered specifically to them, leaving little in the way of enjoyment for those not involved. At least they cancelled with more than a year, leaving you to find something else.

Linda R
I have gotten 2 cruises cancelled due to being chartered out. One I only had about a month notice. The other maybe 2 months notice. I just worked around it as best I could.
dflynnrubino
They gave us 2 options to switch to. Both following the original date and they honored the price for the week we had with the exception of changes in port fees. We have now switched to one of those offered but was challenging as we had 4 cabins that all needed to be arranged together. We just never knew something like this could happen. We were ready for cancellation due to covid or something similar. This just never entered our conversation. I guess we learned something new with this experience.
