After looking over the relative benefits of Diamond Plus vs. Diamond status we made concerted efforts to take several cruises just to achieve Diamond Plus status. The "allure" was access to the concierge lounge which a less chaotic environment than diamond club and affords use a peaceful service oriented "oasis". Now in what could be perceived as a bate and switch RCL is slowly rebranding Concierge Lounges as Suite Lounges with Diamond Plus members excluded. Now I know there is a degree of benefit inflation with many more qualifying for D and DL status. Still most similar businesses would have grandfathered in the benefits for established DL members. Perhaps we need a reasonable compromise RCL. How about DLs in Junior Suites qualifying for Suite Lounge ? Leaves us with some differential from D status, honors our extra effort to qualify and would add very few to the suite lounge census. Anyway let's debait what would bring "harmony" to those Diamond Plus that feel the phase out the Concierge Lounges for them is a "quantum" leap backwards. Any compromise ideas that would give them some "liberty" to access the Suite Lounge. In addition to DL in Junior Suites how about at 300 points- a diamond plus plus category ? The 3 free drink coupons to be used outside the lounge are not the "jewel" incentive we are looking for. It was suppose to be "jewel" plus. As trending, lockout is too steep a retraction for seasoned "voyagers" to accept with a sense of equity. Ideas and "vision" needed to make this right.
