Port Everglades

Recommended Posts

Total newbie question. Realizing as we head to our cruise that I have no idea which terminal our cruise departs from. Is there ONE Royal Caribbean terminal? Coming from the airport, do we need to tell our Uber driver anything else other than that we are on RC?

Depends who is in port that day. Terminal 18 is built for the LARGE RCI ships. The other often used RCI terminal is 29. If no large ships are in port that day, you could be at either one. Just tell the driver which ship you want, he should know.

There is also an app that will list the ships on any given day and which terminal each will use.  Search in the app store for "Port Everglades".

Terminal 18 was built for Oasis class ships but can service any ship when an Oasis class isn't using it particularly on weekdays.

Right now (July 2019) both Allure and Majesty are using terminal 18 since each ship's sail dates do not conflict with each other.  That can change over time if more ships use PEV.

No shops within the port area.

Port Everglades is a multi-use facility that handles cargo and tankers offloading oil and gas products.  Most South Florida gas stations are supplied from Port Everglades.  As such it's a secured port requiring each guest entering to show ID.   It's not a facility dedicated to cruising, cruise ships are a small use case of the overall port operations.  No shops or touristy areas within the port.

Many hotels are near grocery stores.  Stopping at one to pick up a razor shouldn't be a huge issue.

Additional question!

Are there any shops in the port area? The hubs forgot his razor! Otherwise, maybe asking the Uber driver to stop in the way from the airport? Or just pay the upcharge for whatever they have on board?

Have the Uber driver take the 17th street Entry to the port. There is a CVS on the corner of US1 and 17th street. Map to follow

Be prepared for an Uber driver who may not speak English.  I find this often in South Florida so if you can put it all in the app they can follow the GPS guidance right to the specific cruise terminal.

When searching for destination in Uber/Lyft I generally start with the terminal # then "port everglades" so the ride is exact and right to where we need to go.

Just came back to Port Everglades today, on Majesty. There’s a Walgreens on the corner on 17th.

Uber app had several options to Port Everglades so I just picked the Royal Caribbean terminal option. There’s a big sign at the entrance to the port area stating which ships are where.
