  1. Most south pacific ports are tendered so unless sometime changes I don't see it as an option much as I would like it as an option. Given the current pricing of Royal cruises it would probably be too expensive and Royal would get more revenue in the US.
  2. I wouldn’t expect any news soon. It is still on hold with no timeline for any work to start on it. if it goes ahead I don’t think it will be before 2027/28.
  3. I think they haven’t updated the descriptions for the room correctly. Without this and Internet is is just a standard junior suite. There Q&A still says it is included.
  4. I also find this so frustrating when doing our holiday planning as it takes over 6 months to get the full schedule. Aus/NZ are also one of the last to come out and ship consideration is important as the itineraries don’t vary much. If it is a new ship to the region we cruise local. By the time all the deployments are out prices have risen if we decide to head to Europe or the US instead. At least it looks like Ovation is finally moving on and we will get something new to replace her.
  5. As we have to fly it is usually Quantum for us as it is cheaper than Ovation. So much so we have booked the Royal Loft Suite again next year and now as we have sailed most itineraries it is about relaxing on the ship. We do sail from Sydney if the itinerary is right for us, the last being Brilliance to Kangaroo Island and Adelaide.
  6. On Harmony we have booked a crown loft suite for our September cruise that faces the ocean. On Oasis class there is less opportunity to see the sea so the option of sea views appealed to us.
  7. They will be able to make your dinner reservations for you. Not sure about the shows I I don’t see why they couldn’t. You can also book shows in the cruise planner.
  8. I think they should standardise the benefits across all the ships where possible for a more consistent experience. Sure, not all ships have Coastal Kitchen but there is no reason not to include internet access for all GS and above.
  9. Voyager is great, we were on her for the last cruise before Covid caused the shutdown. i like Freedom class, mainly because it is just a bigger version of Voyager. our first Royal cruise was on Radiance in Alaska where that type of ship fits the itinerary perfectly but now I find too small for cruising in Australia. Having said that we sailed on Brilliance back in November and had a great time, partly because the itinerary was a bit different but I missed the bigger ship features.
  10. Not all junior suites in sky class get Internet on Quantum or Oasis class.
  11. We have always sailed in a suite but we turn up and board between 10:30 and 11:00am with no issues.
  12. My favourite so far is freedom class but we are on Harmony in September so is subject to change.
  13. Harr Travel cruise news is saying that Anthem is likely to go to to the West Coast in 25/26 and Allure is likely to sail from Florida or Galveston after the amplification.
  14. I think C&A members are meant to get this but in reality, I think it means Royal sends an email saying you can book on the website but so can any person who visits the website on that day.
  15. I don’t think we will see an Oasis class ship in the foreseeable future due to the number of tender ports which severely limit where it could go.
  16. Royal ships do not sail under the harbour bridge as there is not enough clearance underneath. There is another pier on the other side but it is limited to a few vessels which is why there is such a premium on Circular Quay port bookings.
  17. Oh I didn't realise that, as previously they have always been available on 3-night cruises here.
  18. Compare it to the price of the 3-night dining package and if it is cheaper then go for it otherwise just get the 3-night package. Normally here in Aus/NZ cruises do not have port stops so we do have the ability to use for lunch as well, but I don't want to get to the stage where we have lunch in the specialties just to get value from the package.
  19. We are on Quantum in a couple of weeks for a 7-night cruise. On this cruise the UDP is $627NZD (roughly $380 USD) per person. Ballpark based on this would be $89 NZD per day X 21 days = $1869 NZD ($1142 USD pp) For a longer voyage I would expect it to be slightly cheaper but there are only limited specialty restaurants on Quantum with unchanging menus. I personally don't believe this would be good value for money.
  20. I have never seen this in any Owners Suite I have been it and I don't recall seeing it in the Royal Suite either even though it had a basin.
  21. Yes, we have sailed on Voyager from Sydney in 2015 and 2020. Explorer has also been here before as well.
  22. I don't think this will be anytime soon as most of the islands are tendered and I don't believe Oasis class is designed for tendering sue to their size so itineraries would be extremely limited.
  23. This seems to be common across the cruise lines at the moment, but you will get a nice email full of platitudes about how important your cruise holiday is to them. We have to wait until April to see the Australia 2025/26 itineraries and even longer if we want to cruise Asia. Some cruise lines already have these available so why do we have to wait so long as they must already be planned with the ports booked.
  24. Your genie will also provide an abundance of drink (20-30 cans for coke for example) in your cabin so you will have plenty to share and they will also replenish it daily so you never run out.
  25. And I understand the pool is smaller too with less margin for error.
