  1. Software consultant, right! That's ok, your secret is safe here!
  2. My wife once told me when she was a kid, they used to have a board game called The Plot to Assassinate Hitler! That sounds like a fun family game.
  3. I hope not either! That's ok though. If I don't like it, I can always get something else! And I'm going to get the escargot, unless of course, they have another world wide snail shortage!
  4. I know you have mentioned the risotto in the past and I will definitely be getting it on our upcoming cruise.
  5. If you had one last meal on a RC ship, what would it be? Also, do you remember your first RC meal? What was it?
  6. I think the same kind of thing was mentioned in a previous thread about coffee and coffee condiments from room service. If you like a large cup of coffee or a lot of cream and or sugar, make sure you ask for extra.
  7. I hope I can get some "delicious bass" for dinner in the MDR.
  8. Got ya both beat. First cruise at 52! Better late than never!
  9. Those are the same people that hem and haw over the menu at McDonald's! For crying out loud, they've had the same basic menu for 50yrs! It's only a meal choice. It's not "Sophie's Choice!" Especially on a cruise. If you don't like it, just get something else!
  10. I can definitely see that about the European cruises. That was kind of my thought when I posed the question.
  11. I remember seeing that. I was just wondering if they "cut-off" a cruise, so to speak, as far as sales go, so many days before sailing. To lock you in to what you have already paid.
  12. Sounds like it's really hit or miss. I would never dress like that, not because I have something against it or people who do. I would just be too embarrassed to be turned away. I would not want to risk it. But, that's just me.
  13. Maybe they should reinvest some of that room service and corkage fee revenue back into their IT dept.!
  14. I guess just be glad that dept. doesn't actually run the ship!
  15. You can always call RCCL, if you don't want to deal with the website.
  16. Thanks Kla! Guess I'll have to keep checking. It's worth it though. I have saved over $200 by rebooking drink pkgs and excursions!
  17. Does anybody know how close to a cruise date they will stop putting something on sale? Just wondering when is a good time to stop checking the cruise planner for sales?
  18. I think this was a good call. You got something locked in at a sale price. I doubt if they will be on sale again, probably 4th of July, because it is so close to your cruise date.
  19. The thing about the Freestyle machines, is that because of all the choices they offer, they have limited space to keep the proper amount of syrup boxes needed. Most fountain type machines have hoses running to usually the back of the house, attached to a rack full of syrup boxes. Also, because of all the drink choices, it really slows down the process of getting a drink, because they can only serve one person at a time. And have you ever gotten behind a 7 year old at one of these machines, trying to make up their mind?
  20. and don't forget the last thing you do before you go to bed!
  21. Just curious about this. Do you feel that the time of the year and itinerary has anything to do with the lack of adherence to the dress code? For instance, do you find people are more likely to dress down so to speak on a warm weather cruise, opposed to say a European or Canadian cruise? I know shorts come in to play more obviously, with a warm weather cruise.
  22. Not sure about other cruises, but we were able to book dining for our Oct 1st cruise on April 27. That was 157 days out. Just an Fyi, like others have mentioned here, I wouldn't be afraid to make my reservations, right away and then change them later. At least you have something reserved right away. Some of the prices dropped as time went on and the 3, 4 and 5 night specialty packages didn't open up at first either. They were added later. Same goes for the drink packages. They have gone on sale twice since our original booking.
