  1. I guess it's good to start your morning off with a bang!
  2. I don't know of if it's discrimination, but more likely good business, at least as RC is concerned. I don't know the mix of people purchasing alcohol pkgs vs non-alcohol pkgs, but I would think those buying the alcohol ones are much higher. That being said, they are just pushing the combo pkg to the highest number of passengers. They could easily offer if to everybody with a drink pkg, so I'm not sure about the complete reasoning. They could also easily produce a "mocktails" page or two, or you can just choose to ask for the drink with out the alcohol. Of course some cocktails just don't work without the alcohol, like a rum and coke for instance.
  3. I guess once you pay for the cruise, gratuities included, you really don't have to spend another penny on board, if you didn't want to.
  4. If you are doing a b2b, do you have to get off the ship between cruises and remove all your stuff?
  5. Thanks. I'll take a look at that. We have an excursion to Acadia National, but it's only like 2hrs, so we would have time for lunch.
  6. What's with the baked beans? A European thing?
  7. It would be a great memory for your son, being in loft suite. But you choose to give him twice the memories. I would make the same choice.
  8. I think like most others have said, if you can afford it, do it. A lot of people have put things off till next time. And next time never comes.
  9. Sounds good. "Wait, are they really thin pancakes?" " Oh my God, I love those!" " They come with cheese, sometimes?" "Oh, I love the crepe suzette!" Love me some Ricky Bobby!
  10. I chose "Halifax Top Ten" Peggy's Cove, The Citadel?, some cemetery with Titanic victims, and 7 other things I can't remember right know. It's like 7hrs or so. I hope that covers it all.
  11. Thanks. All of the excursions are through RC. I thought it was easier as I really had no idea what I was doing.
  12. Is the meeting area for shore excursions close to where you disembark? Is there one specific meeting place or does it depend on the excursion and/or excursion company?
  13. Bangers and mash would be great! And Indian curries, anytime!
  14. Is there a lot of vendors and such right at the cruise terminal in Halifax?
  15. New England and Canada in Oct, I don't know. Doesn't seem like a adventurous crowd, except us of course.
  16. Good to know, in case the cappuccino before bed doesn't do the trick. I can drink coffee 24/7 and sleep like a baby.
  17. Do they serve ethnic items in the Windjammer for breakfast? Something besides the usual bacon and eggs? I like a variety of things for breakfast, not just what others would always consider breakfast items.
  18. What's the best place in Halifax for poutine? And what's the deal with donnair?
  19. They do make the individual drink packs that are made with stevia, if you want to avoid artificial sweeteners.
  20. Is that the only place they are available 24/7?
  21. I know there is a classic soda package and a royal refreshment package, but not a royal refreshment soda package. Maybe olejt is a little confused or the wording of the deal is confusing. Somebody online will have the answer.
  22. That's fine with me. I'll be first in line for the Western burbs, since I live there now!
  23. Others have told me that the waits aren't over 10min. I'm sure someone will chime in with more details.
  24. We have talked about going for lunch in the MDR on the two sea days, just for the Tutti bar. As it looks fantastic.
