  1. 100% with you on that one too. We going in a different direction this summer if cruising is really a bust. Heading to the mountains.
  2. I feel your pain. I have 3 this summer that I will likely lose. ? One of which is Oasis, which I have also tried to sail 3 times now since post amp.
  3. I don’t think that you are. I took that to mean that they don’t think they will be sailing until fall...hopefully ?
  4. I never got the email, but I noticed the change a few days ago. I posted it here: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/21964-cruise-with-confidence-expiry-extension/
  5. Hopefully that doesn't stick for too long. Whistler is my back up plan if I can't sail in the summer.
  6. Well...I did just book Allure for December 2021. But not jinxing it. No blog until I know it's happening.
  7. I think this happened to @JLMoran. I will let him elaborate on it.
  8. That was my original post in this thread. Looks like they did extend the FCC expiry. To September 2022.
  9. Unfortunately, no way to price protect other than L&S at the moment, which they have not extended yet. Why not hold off for a bit and see if they will extend L&S (which I bet they will) and then move it?
  10. You totally can do that. That is what I did earlier when I booked a Europe 2022 sailing.
  11. I am too, but what I really need is for them to make it stackable. With all these cancellations, I've tried to shift whatever I can, but I am starting to accumulate too many FCCs in small amounts from deposits.
  12. Nope. Retire. Teaching is getting in the way of that sailing. Lol
  13. I wanna go!!! That itinerary looks amazing! I need to retire. ?
  14. I totally missed when this happened but they extended the expiry to September 2022... @Matt was there a post about this and I totally missed it? https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-with-confidence Edit: this must have just happened yesterday because I got a new FCC from cancelling under CWC on Monday and it still has an expiry of April 2022.
  15. It’s not. But it’s not great either. We’re all just going to have to ride this thing out. Actually, the east is doing way better than the rest of Canada.
  16. I hate to say it but I truly don’t think that any cruises involving Canada will happen this year. Our government anticipates that anyone who wants a vaccine will be able to get one by September 2021 (that is the target). Canada has been relatively cautious throughout this whole mess, some provinces even more so than others, I highly doubt they will allow any ships carrying various nationalities or borders to be open until things are stable. Hubby and I decided that if we cannot cruise this summer (which I am more sure of by the day will be the case), and we are vaccinated, then we are heading west to the mountains. It will be like a faux Alaska trip. Lol
  17. If you paid completely with FCC, you will only get back FCC. If you paid a portion without FCC, that is the portion you will get back as a refund if you choose.
  18. I don't really keep track of Celebrity so not sure if they have other ships still that are sailing Europe or if that is all of them.
  19. VOLUNTARY GLOBAL SUSPENSION OF CRUISING EXTENDED January 12TH, 2021 Dear Valued Travel Partner, As we continue to focus on the healthy and safe return to cruising for guests, crew and the communities we visit, we are working closely with our sister brands at Royal Caribbean Group and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as government authorities around the world toward our shared goal. In order to return in the best way possible, we continue to extend the suspension of certain Celebrity Cruises sailings. In brief, Celebrity Cruises will be suspending sailings through April 30th, 2021 including the May 1st, 2021 transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Apex. As well, May through October 2021 Europe and transatlantic cruises on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Constellation will also be suspended. For your guest's convenience, Future Cruise Credits issued as part of the Global Suspension of Sailing will also now be eligible for redemption by April 30th, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30th, 2022. Guests booked on Celebrity Edge, Constellation and Apex will have the option to take a 125% FCC or 100% Refund, or to rebook any other 2021 Europe sailing and receive $100 OBC per stateroom. FCCs issued as part of the Cruise with Confidence program will also now be eligible for redemption by April 30th, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30th, 2022. Please see below for further explanation and, as always, we thank you for your partnership and commitment to our shared success as we return to sailing. Sincerely, Celebrity Cruises
  20. I just saw on another forum that Celebrity pulled the plug for Europe....
  21. Very funny, you can still be on deck 17. Lots of room left. ?
  22. Totally depends on the ship. Different food and beverage managers have different rules when it comes to embarkation day food delivery. As much as your Genie wants you to be happy, they have to follow rules as well. Other than embarkation day boarding, there is not a dedicated Star Class line ports of call. People return to the ship at all different times at a port of call, there is usually not much of a wait. In the odd situation that there is a crowd, some Genies have been known to meet their guests at the gangway for a faster boarding. @WAAAYTOOO had an experience like this but again, it's an extreme situation, out of the ordinary. I blogged about our first time on SC here if you want more info: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/10695-“i-dream-of-genie”-–-star-class-harmony-of-the-seas-–-031019-031719/ Most important thing to keep in mind is that with all the info out there, it's very easy to fall into the trap where you want to replicate someone else's experience. The basics of SC is the same from ship to ship, but the smaller details are not consistent unfortunately. What can be done on one ship, may not be able to be done on another. That leads to disappointment for some people, and it's directed to the Genie most often.
