  1. It has gone up here in the last several months. I paid $8.99 I think for my cruise this past summer. The $9.99 is what you can expect to pay, sale or not. I paid that for my most recent cruise a few weeks ago, and it wasn't 20% off. Sometimes they just raise the regular price for the duration of the sale. Been a while since I saw anything about the freestyle machines, but I'm pretty sure they're still only available on those ships based year-round in the U.S.
  2. I'd avoid swimwear, dry or not, or anything that looks like it. Khakis, cargos, denims, anything like that is fine. Aside from the obligatory one pair of jeans for the possible trip to Chops or Izumi, shorts, t-shirts and flip flops are all I pack. Only been turned away once, because of the board shorts I had on at the time.
  3. I've worn shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt to formal night several times. Formal night or not, I've only been turned away once, I'm pretty sure because of the board shorts I had on at the time. As long as they don't look anything like swimwear, you'll be fine. Twangster is right, though, couldn't hurt to pay a visit to the dining room once aboard.
  4. I went for a foward-facing ocean view this last time on Oasis. Was a nice spot, and surprised me how big it was, but took me about the first three days to stop smacking my head every time I went to look out the window
  5. As heavily invested as they are in development right now, I can't imagine they're in too bad a spot financially. I think they're just so singularly focused on revenue generation that, for all the big great stuff they're coming out with, those non-material but just-as-important products are suffering.
  6. Ok, I can definitely say I am more productive after a cruise. Got back on the 27th, and can say this past week's been one of the most productive I've had in a while. A couple days ago I noticed a change, though. I sail again on Friday, and seems the post-cruise euphoria from one wore off just in time to transition straight into the pre-cruise anxiety of the next, and I'm in full-blown useless mode again.
  7. Now that I've finally found the elusive email and am waiting on that first golden ticket to appear, it got me wondering a few things about how it works. Is your bid a set amount, or function as a max? Say I bid $1000, and the next highest bidder only bids $500, do I win at $1000 or, say, $505? I got offers for both a junior and a grande suite. What happens if i win both? Does it default to the higher of the two, or does it give me a choice? Can a pending bid maybe interfere with printing my papers? I've been trying to print my set sail pass and luggage tags for the last 4 days, and cant get in. Didnt know if maybe it's because it might well change (though i can't imagine RC's IT to be that intelligent) Lastly, anyone feel like waiting for that won/lost email is about the same as waiting for that imminent sail date that just wont hurry up and get here?
  8. Absolutely. The dining times are just for MDR. Qindjammer's open to all.
  9. Careful with that dream, now. I spoiled myself with a junior suite one time, and now it's like a standard requirement. I'll occasionally settle for an ocean view when it's a short getaway or a last minute decision, but now that I've finally figured out the royal up thing, I'm in real trouble. Oh, junior suite just came available? GRANDE suite, you say?
  10. Check your spam box. I've had the same issue; seven years and 18 cruises with royal, and never not a one email from em. Came across this post so decided to check my spam box, and sure enough, first thing I see is an upgrade offer for my upcoming Enchantment cruise. Also got one for my Oasis cruise, but of course I don't find it til the day I get off. Still trying to figure out how to get it off my spam list...
  11. Should pop up on the main CP page, just scroll down a little
  12. Not sure if you figured it out yet, but anything you wanna add to your personal calendar, swipe to the left and hit the "add to calendar" button
  13. Well that didnt last long at all. Must be working out pretty well so far
  14. Says it's being trialled on Oasis and Liberty, but I just booked it for Enchantment. Didn't trigger an alert or anything about it not being available on Enchantment yet, so checked a couple of the other ones I have booked, and it's showing for all of them. Should I assume it's not gonna be available, and cancel it?
  15. If anything was gonna show up prior to boarding, you should already be seeing it in your cruise planner. Usually best to book excursions ahead, but if you're counting on using those credits for it, you can do it onboard. Just make the excursions desk one of your first stops.
  16. I just booked the key for the first time. Don't care too much about the special accesses or anything, but for what we're gonna he paying for internet anyway, the extra few bucks would be worth it just for the lunch at Chops, but what's it like? Is it typical Chops fare, or do they just transplant the buffet down to a nicer venue for the day?
  17. Radiance-class I think is safe for a while, due to their versatility, but they've been trying to get rid of the Visions for a while now. Got rid of two, but haven't been able to unload the rest, so now they're gonna build them out of the fleet. I think they really are trying to go for an all-big boat fleet, but it's really gonna water down the options, since there are still so many places that can't accommodate them. The Oasis class pretty much run the same itinerary already.
  18. Lol, I was thinking the same thing! I keep copies of all my papers, for my, uh, scrapbook, I guess you can say, and those I usually reprint at home so I have them in color.
  19. Hey, that's a great idea. Park west should host a drinking and painting shindig, then have a amateur showcase auction. It's brilliant!
  20. As much as some like to drink on the boat, you're likely to find the next Picasso. The Park West staff would love it
  21. This has been my night at work. Nothing like using company time, company equipment, and company ink to get ready.
