I don't know where to begin.
I know the schedule of the ships that come to my city and make a point to go watch sail aways if it's a big one.
I work across the harbour from the pier and watch the ships come in, all ways telling co-workers what ship it is and what features it has (today was the Liberty and a Holland America).
I like to correct people and say 'actually that's a small ship'.
It drives me nuts when people say the Queen Mary 2 is the biggest cruise ship, it happens often.
Also me and my wife lay in bed watching cruise videos, we used to stick to ships we are going on but now we will watch any Royal ship videos.
But my biggest nerd trait has to be coming on this forum and discussing trivial things as if they were important :).

Of the nine cruises that my husband has been on, he could only remember three of the ships' names. Of course, the last one caught on fire, so that's ingrained into his memory.
 
Meanwhile, I remember the name of every ship I've been on, and can remember much of the Royal Caribbean ships' features.
 
Now, the islands we've visited? Much of that has blurred together over time. That's not a surprise as I do cruise for the ship.

In my Family and social circle I am known as the person to go to if wanting to go on a cruise. I love to help book cruises for people even if I am not going. Like Marc and Matt if anyone even mentions the word cruise I start asking where you going what ship etc... I hate when they say oh I don't know i'm like how can you NOT KNOW... To me that's crazy... I study deck plans, menus, excursions, restaurants and entertainment possibilities... So yea basically I am a HUGE cruise Nerd and Proud of it!

Yep, I confess. I am a cruise nerd, too ! Like Stephanie, I am the one that others come to when they are thinking about cruising. I have limited experience with other lines (Carnival 3 times, NCL 3 times...no others) but if you're thinking about going on Royal Caribbean, I am your man ! (...well, actually woman, but who cares !!).
 
I love looking on cruisedeckplans.com to make sure that there aren't any "warnings" about the room I am thinking of booking.

I definitely get extra excited if I book a cruise right after a refurbishment.  Did that with Navigator of the Seas and my wife could not understand why I thought it was so cool when I tried explaining the significance of it to her

Ahh plantation my backyard... no one ever knows plantation so I just say I live in Ft. Lauderdale...

Yes Mike, the area around the hotel is now called Midtown Plantation.. Very crowded and difficult to drive on University Drive without getting a lot of traffic... Sometimes the Renaissance in plantation has good deals for $100 a night.. So check them out too.

I agree. I'm in the mood to book another cruise, but I don't have the time to travel. Perhaps I'll need to squeeze in the group cruise. ;)

Totally excited,, booked my next cruise,, gonna be on Liberty's FIRST post-refurbishment sailing !!! Feb 7, 2016 WoooooooHooooooooo now I just have to decide,, 3 nights in Chops,, or 4 ??!! lol

So Liberty is cheaper, longer and just got a refurbishment.  What's the debate exactly?  :D
 
Also Liberty of the Seas has Saturday Night Fever, the Broadway show.

When I was on the Freedom in May they had the balloon busters and it was definitely an added complexity.
 
I had fun but as with most things involving a slot machine, I didn't do very well. I should definitely stick to the poker and craps tables. :)
 
As Marc already knows, I will be in the tournament on the Liberty too...but not expecting much as I hate slot machines and they hate me back. :(

I'm with you, Marc. Hard to concentrate on anything else.
 
I've never had a drink package and I've never played in a big slots tourney. Have experienced the rest b4.
 
Be sure and give the union guys a good tip at the pier. The one and only time I left out of Bayonne someone cut the metal luggage tags off of my luggage. I assume they didn't think I tipped enough.
 
Also, on that same trip, leaving Bayonne we ran smack dab into a nor'easter and had the roughest 2 days at sea I have ever experienced. I certainly hope our trip to Bermuda is smoother than my last trip was !
 
When I first started cruising I left out of Tampa a lot so I have taken many 5 nighters. Waaaytoo short for me now. This one is an exception these days.

Yep...Oct. 17 5 days to Bermuda.
 
We just booked this cruise 2 days ago. Hadn't planned it at all...just an impulsive decision when I saw that there was an aft Jr. Suite available. Couldn't pass it up with the Club Royale discount.
 
I'm sure we'll see each other in the casino. That's where I'll be most of the time.

I like to book ahead of time ..less stress

LOL. I have to laugh. If they REALLY scanned to check on cancel-rebooks then that is all they would do ! ...and what would they do if they found one ? Do you really think they would cancel your cruise or take away your OBC ? Of course not ! That's a stupid thing to even say to a customer.
 
There is a fatal flaw in the whole "available only to new booking" promotion and that is that unless you are past your final payment date you can ALWAYS choose to reprice your cruise (which is, essentially, cancel and rebook). As many have noted, it rarely pays to do that, especially if you booked your cruise way in advance and the base price of the cruise has gone up (as they almost always DO when RCI gets ready to roll out some new promo)...but that is what is called "the cost of doing business" and RCI shouldn't ever complain about people rebooking an existing cruise to take advantage of a promotion.
