  1. Here you go Doc, check it out. http://www.countryliving.com/food-drinks/g2821/dessert-shooters/
  2. Kind of like going to Charleston, SC. "The fascination and desire to hit up the fast food restaurants before you get into the downtown (historic) district. With all of the fantastic sights and other eateries/drinkeries there, I can understand the phenomenon." I think it all has to do with comfort level and knowledge. Most cruisers have heard/know about the Windjammer and are comfortable with the multi choice buffet, especially if they have children with them and or have traveled far that morning before getting on the ship. For the experienced cruisers, the WJ is probably a last resort as they will seek out other lunch venues for a meal. I consider a couple of Bloody Mary''s a perfect lo-cal lunch substitute! By the way, we LOVE Charleston and usually stop there for a few days in the historic district on our way home from a cruise out of Florida.
  3. Kayla, Not sure how long you will be in Falmouth, but, the shopping compound within the gated area (quite large) is clean, safe and has excellent shopping opportunities. There is even a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville with free wifi. Do they have those or know about them in Ohio?
  4. So, were you that funky smelling dude the first night in the MDR on the Serenade this past March?
  5. Looks like you experienced RCCI "WOW" factor!
  6. March 25, 2018, Allure of the Seas, Western Caribbean April 1, 2018, Allure of the Seas, Eastern Caribbean (big birthday celebration!)
  7. As I mentioned to her a few days ago, "she has taken a "Depp" in a new direction".
  8. Tiny, I believe you could make meal out of anything wrapped in bacon, even a flip flop!
  9. Yeah, and the heartburn/indigestion too!
  10. Tiki, Ok, men wear pants and I'm sure tights and a skate skirt will be fine. Yes, there is are a couple of skating shows, but, ice skating is allowed. Check the cruise compass Matt uploaded. There should be some info there.
  11. Good advise from Tiny260 above. Definitely book the shows you want to see well before getting on board the ship, any excursions you may want to take and your dinner time. The ice skating rink is free but you will need to wear socks and pants. Enjoy!
  12. Not really. The BCarney special (sorry if I'm wrong on this) but I'm sure it is whatever curry they offer at breakfast on hash browns. I know he is a curry lover from some of his posts.
  13. Well, the people exercising aren't watching you eat. They are watching out for the people watching you eat, ie, the walkers/strollers/"casual observers.
  14. Somehow, I think you IT guys are jerking my non IT chain......what''s Tandy & Radio Shack?
  15. Thanks JL, Holy sh*t! If what JT posted above "This is IT related though Doc .... Royal still runs their systems on TRS-80 grade hardware ..." I'm surprised Royal can get their ships out of port, on time without some catastrophic happenings. Is it possible he was joking......I hope...please?
  16. I believe you can on the cruise planner under the beverages and dining heading. Select dining and scroll down to the My Time Dining option, add to your cart, select who will be dining with you and then select the time. Hopefully the early seating will be available. By the way, we were on the Allure last year, which is the sister ship of the Oasis. The main dining room on the Allure had three levels, each with a different theme. Deck 4 was the American Icon, Deck 5 was Silk (oriental decor) and I am having a senior moment trying to remember deck 6, it happens. Decks 4 and 6 had windows in the dining room but deck 5 did not. The running track is on deck 5 and who wants to see a bunch of athlete wanna-be's while you're having dinner? That was the Allure, may be similar on the Oasis. One more important thing......Have fun and enjoy your cruise!
  17. OK, what does TRS-80 grade hardware mean, and is this on all their ships,or just the older ones? Thanks!
  18. "The Works" (on the menu) at Johnnie Rockets is killer!! MDR breakfast is nice also, but, no bathing suits. Good place for breakfast if you're getting off the ship in a port. Room service for coffee/tea and some rolls is also nice.
  19. Erika, What cruise ship will you be on?
  20. We were on the Allure last March and stopped in Falmouth. You can call it a coincidence, but from what we saw in Falmouth outside of the gated shopping area there is no way in hell I would get off the cruise ship to go into Falmouth on future cruises.
  21. Michael, In January-April, 2018 the Allure will be stopping in Jamaica, after that the Allure itinerary does not include Jamaica. Not sure about the rest of the RCCI fleet though. I think that will make a significant economic impact on Falmouth. Think about it 6,000+ sun baked cruisers not spending a dime on shore in Jamaica.
  22. Thanks Doc. Hopefully before April 2018!
