  1. JL & Sabrina, How are you check the cabin/suite availability, what is the "data checker" you use? Not that I'm challenging your data, I would like to check my bookings for next year..Thanks!
  2. Also, some cash to tip the room service folks, if you order anything. We usually get coffee and a roll in the morning (it's free) and I tip he room service person $2.00.
  3. You are SO lucky, oh wait, you live in Northern NJ......never mind
  4. Here's a current cut & paste from the RCI website under the Itinerary Updates, some really good news! October 16, 2017 at Noon EDT (next update Friday, 10/20 at 5 PM EDT) Royal Caribbean leadership recently returned from visits to St. Thomas and San Juan and will be visiting St. Maarten on Wednesday. We continue to be impressed with the progress the islands are making to rebuild, and are excited to announce our return to St. Thomas with the Adventure of the Seas on November 10. In the next few weeks, working in conjunction with the local governments, we will announce the specific dates in November for our return to San Juan and St. Maarten. Upon arrival in St. Thomas guests will be able to enjoy a vast array of activities, dining and shopping. Downtown shops are open and have full power, the majority of restaurants and bars are also open, and the boats and catamarans that are used to enjoy the waters of the Caribbean are ready for guests. We are also partnering with the USVI government to restore Magen’s Bay, one of St. Thomas’ most popular tourist attractions. The beach will have its grand re-opening coinciding with Adventure’s arrival on November 10. Magen’s Bay will be joined by Secret Sands Beach, Secret Harbor Beach Club, Lindquists Beach, Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, and Abi Beach – all open for guests to enjoy. We anticipate no further changes to our scheduled calls in St. Thomas, San Juan and St. Maarten for sailings December 1, 2017 forward.
  5. Welcome aboard! I'm pretty sure that those benefits are pre-loaded on your sea pass cards, but I may be wrong. If no one chimes in here, give the RC customer service folks a call, they will know for sure.
  6. I'm surprised they haven't revised that web page by know. Don't think too many folks are going to sign up for the "sale" they have going on now!
  7. Check out my posts (rants) under this topic "Deluxe Drink Package sale, again today", in the Dining blog. You will not believe their math. Discount, HAH!
  8. What really pisses me off is this "professional" cruise line can't get their math correct! If the price of the deluxe drink package is $55.00 and you're buying two, hence the "50%" sale, it's actually 25% off of each. My calculator tells me $55.00 X 25% = $41.25. Not $45.00 nor $43.00.
  9. Well, I am just about at the point of saying f***** RCI over this! There are other cruise lines out there. Here's the screen shot I have been dealing with. At least the one you posted says "Price Shown Reflects Your Discount" , nice, very nice.
  10. Actually, this is the first time I have encountered this with Royal. Not a happy camper!
  11. You'll love this.....according to three different cust. service reps and two different supervisors the discount is as follows: the cost of the deluxe drink package is $55.00 per person per day and each gets a 25% discount off the $55.00, hence the "discounted" price of $45.00. But wait....$55 - 25% is $41.25 NOT $45.00. When I mentioned that, the reply (unanimous) was the $45.00 includes the 18% gratuity, wrong again. $41.25 + 18% = $48.68. Amazing!!!! At this point in time I think I'll load up my RC credit card for obc and not even think about a drink package!
  12. Right now I'm doing the "pins and needles, needles and pins. It's a happy man that grins" routine, but it's not working as well as it did for Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) in 1956.
  13. Yeah, well, I get impatient all hell over something that doesn't make sense mathematically......
  14. That call was a BIG waste of time! Once I calm down I'll try again with a supervisor. By the way, this offer is for the deluxe drink package.
  15. Check this out! Looking at my cruiser planner for the Allure next March 25th. Don't know how to do a screen capture so here's the link: https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruiseplanner/category/1012/activityType/100000003096659750. Buy one get one 50% off. So $45 + 18% gratuity for myself, $45-50% off + 18% gratuity for my wife is $79.65 per day for the two of us which equals $557.55 for the 7 day cruise. Looks like a great deal, right? Well, not so fast there buckaroo. Add the two packages to your cart and go all the way to the check out screen and presto you now owe $743.00 for the two packages.....with no mention/indication of any discount. By the way, 2 deluxe drink packages at $45 each plus the 18% gratuity for 7 days is $743.00. I think it's time to gives these folks a call........
  16. Joe, You never know, they could be back in operation by next March. Gots to think positive! rjac
  17. Here's a text from the Random Wind facebook dated Oct.3rd, "Thanks, crew ok. Boat smashed and sank. Looking forward." Glad the crew is ok. Hopefully the boat can be re-floated, repaired and be sea worthy soon.
  18. DO NOT go on any excursions in St. Lucia that involve travelling in one of their "busses", especially if you are prone to motion sickness. Narrow roads with lots of curves, no guard rails, steep inclines/declines, many stops for photo ops (even if no one gets off the bus to take a picture) and the bus may get back to the port late. That's what we experienced a few years ago and yes, the ship waited for us. But we ha to run from the bus drop off to the ship. Not fun!
  19. I just googled this app. Nice, but do you really need this when you have pretty much all the same info in the Cruise Compass. Now, if it included the RCIQ so you could text other members of your cruise group, then yes, a great app. Tinyy, will be interested in your comments if you remember to use it.
  20. There are two that have been written up in the Excursions section, Nachi Cocum and Mr. Sanchos. Both are a short taxi ride. From what I have read, the former is more calm/sedate and the latter is a beach party. Nachi takes reservaations for 100 folks, don't know about Mr. Sanchos. You can find good info i you google them.
