  1. Threaten to cancel, storm the bridge.....arrrgh!
  2. Yeah, well my cure for the "effects" was to eat and drink healthy. I ate plenty of protein (and I mean plenty!), pigged out on desserts only on weekday nights dinner and started the day off with bloody mary or three! Oh yes, and I did a daily affirmation every morning that I promised to go to the gym when I got back home.
  3. The RC visa card is a Bank Of America credit card and has nothing to do with the final payment on your October cruise. When my wife and I applied for our separate RC credit cards we did not even have a cruise booked. Go for it! Both you and your wife should apply for separate cards that way you will a total of $350 OBC. Of course you both will have to make the required charges on your shiny new RC credit card!
  4. The gym on the Allure is small compared to other non Oasis class ships. Too much equipment & small facility. It's like 10 lbs of stuff crammed in a 5 lb bag! We went once last year and decided not to do that again. There is a nice outdoor running, walking or crawling (if your have over used your drink package) on deck 5.
  5. Socks??? Who wears socks on a cruise? Underwear and t-shirts, ok. But socks?
  6. Well, WaaaTooo, you are OFF my Christmas mailing List!
  7. The port in Ft. Lauderdale is just that, a very huge port. I've sailed in and out of there many times and have yet to see a place nearby for a beer within walking distance. Plus the security getting into the port is very well enforced. Are your friends going to meet you at the ship terminal and take you someplace? That would work. Just make sure you do the new sea pass card like I mentioned before. I do not recommend your friends come with a tailgate party in mind at the port. Again, the security thing, plus a lot of port workers hanging around not to mention the sea gulls!
  8. Just so you know, on turn around day you will have to get off the ship and have a new sea pass card made at the port facility. But, you do not have stand in line with the new cruisers. I think we had to get off the ship like 10:00 a.m. Took about 45 minutes. The only painful part was there were no bars in the port facility!
  9. Bill, I got the RC credit cards years ago and so did my wife. If you are married, have wife also apply for the credit card. That's a total of $350 on board credit! And with the current promotion, I think it's very easy to charge $1,100 on the new cards. Here's a link where you can "cash in" your rewards points for OBC, good luck! https://www.managerewardsonline.com/RMSapp/Ctl/entry?pid=grprwd&mc=RCCL
  10. Can't fool you, now can we? Here's another idea. Just bring enough t-shirts to wear during the day on the first week. Throw them in the trash and buy new ones on board on day 6 (many, many sales) for the second week!
  11. Matt made a post awhile back about changing shows on the Oasis class ships. These shows are quite a production withe the sets, cast costumes, lights, music, etc. Because of that RC doesn't swap them out very often.
  12. You know, they do serve drinks in the theater, so, don't be surprised if yourself dancing in the aisle!
  13. From what I remember they change them.
  14. The three shows are Mamma Mia, Ocean Aria and The Blue Planet. Book them for both weeks and if you don't enjoy them the second week, don't go to the show. Hey, they're free, but you know that! The Comedy show can be pretty entertaining IF the comedian is good.
  15. We did 2 weeks B2B last year on the Allure. We brought a couple of 3 oz plastic bottles of laundry detergent for the uh, you know, "unmentionables". Extra hangers, but then found out from our room steward that he could provide some for us. Brand new hair shampoo, conditioner and bar of soap. The Allure was great. It took us the first weeks just to "learn" the ship. Be sure to book your entertainment on line as soon as you can, the shows are fantastic!
  16. Have a great cruise!
  17. I would think so. We recently cruised the Serenade (a much smaller ship than the Oasis) and there was a table with 12 folks near us. I would ask your travel agent, if you have one, or call Royal Caribbean. One thing you want to do before you depart from home is "link" all your reservation numbers together so you will be seated together.
  18. I am sorry to hear about this. I have booked many cruises early, like over a year out. My experience has been that the price booked is the price I have to pay by the final payment date, regardless of a price increase. Now, if there is a price decrease and I haven't made the final payment, I immediately get on the phone with my travel agent and get my booked price reduced. I think you will find many folks on this forum have done the same thing, book well in advance and make payments each month until the final payment is due. Consider it an "interest free loan" from Royal Caribbean. As far as price fluctuations, they are probably caused by the price of fuel, market demand, etc.
  19. Nassau 4/2, St. Thomas 4/4 and St. Maarten 4/5. Our itineraries won't work for a meet and greet, perhaps on a future cruise.
  20. Isn't that what your significant other/travel partner is for?
  21. JL, Will be on the Allure leaving Ft. Lauderdale on April 1st 2018, eastern Caribbean also.
  22. JL, Just checked this out with google. Wow, this excursion looks great! We'll be in ST. Maarten next April, I would greatly appreciate your comments on this excursion if you do it!
  23. True that!
  24. St. Kitts: The train rides around the island. A lot of fun and very informative. Unfortunately, St. Kitts doesn't have the greatest beaches. Aruba: Definitely Palm Beach
  25. Amen!
