Honestly NJCRUISER, I think it will be mine too.  You can just see so many islands and having worked for a Caribbean Hotel chain for years I was blessed enough to have seen most of them.

I lived in Marblehead MA and got married there, so that is one stop would love to see Beantown again etc!

Graduated from Boston University. I love doing the cruise on Grandeur and Explorer. Some of my friends met me at the pier. Love Boston!!!!!

I am really aggravated with RC.  Have a cruise set for 10-21-2017, ADVENTURE OF SEAS.  Was scheduled to arrive in San Juan on 10-19-2017.  Received call from RC that hotel damaged in San Juan due to Hurricane Maria, but no rooms available on island.  RC employee told me I would be receiving a refund for hotel and confirmation e-mail -- nothing refunded or received.  RC employee said Air2Ground was working on my new flight itinerary because I would just have to fly from where i live to San Juan on 10-21-17, cruise date.  I said what if there is a flight delay and I miss ship, response, we will fly you to the next port.  Next port would be day 3.  Mind you was told no hotels on island.  Called Air2Sea and was told we are not working on anything for you.  We have you arriving on 10-19-17 in San Juan and if you change anything you will be penalized.  So we are in limbo--pretty pathetic considering the state of PR.  It's nice RC is evacuating people from PR, but it would also be nice if RC would spend some of those "humanitarian" efforts on its paying customers.  Also PR has limited water even for sanitation, little of almost everything.  Supposedly ADVENTURE OF SEAS will be back in San Juan on October 6 and ready to cruise October 7.  Not enough time for disinfection if you ask me especially if there was very little water for sanitation in PR and you are using ship for evacuees.  Why would RC still not give travelers a heads up re; a cruise a couple of weeks away -- where are we supposed to stay in San Juan if we miss our ship because of flight delay.  Feel sorry for islanders, but instead of RC being savior to the Caribbean, try being savior to your paying customers!  And now I'm reading blogs the Adventure of Seas is shabby.  Who wants to go on vacation after all of this!

This happen to me last year. I was on the Empress when my cruise was cancelled. I was upset, but I was glad that I was able to use the funds to re-book on the Empress in August 2017. I love the ship and booked three more cruises on Empress for June-July 2018.

Wow!1 10 times!! Now I am more convinced we are doing the right thing.  It looks like just what we want and Baltimore is so close for us.  We are booked on 2 Celebrity Cruises in 2019, but wanted to add one more for 2018. I like just cruising, bermuda is just the added bonus. Thanks so much Sweety!!

As Sunday quickly approaches and we are about to embark on our first cruise, I wanted to save my 1000th post to say a big thank you to all my new RCblog friends!

You have eased our minds and answered so many of our questions that I know you have probably answered for others time and time again. But you did it without hesitation or bemoaning the fact that that question had already been answered.

The one thing that became apparent on this site opposed to others that I had been on was how quickly there was a sense of friendship and family. Even though we are separated by thousands of miles and most of us have never met.  We support each other. We rib on each other. And we are there for each other when the other person needs something. Just like a family.

So, I will probably post some more before we leave for Boston on Saturday. Who am I kidding, of course I'm going to post some more!

When we return,  I will definitely post our impressions from our first RC cruise, but hopefully not our last.

Thanks again for all your help!

We absolutely love the ship .... for us -- it is absolutely perfect .... the kids are grown so we don't need a lot of those " bells & whistles" that the newer ships have, plus, we just love how you become part of a "family" of crew and passengers.  We've met so many great people, some of which we cruised with last year and will be cruising again with in the future.

To us, Grandeur is like the Goldilocks of ships --Not too big, Not too small ---Just right.

I love Grandeur of the Seas. We are booked on the 9 day cruise in June 2018. We have been on the ship 10 times.

And this is why we got into looking at the europe river cruises...the airfare isn't that much more.   It used to be that i could be 250 max for a chicago to Orlando spring break (late March)  flight.   I just purchased tickets for 550 to fort lauderdale because im afraid to risk them going up.  Although if you can believe it, American was cheaper to fly first class than coach by 30 bucks or so a ticket and it included 2 bags each so we did that.

If time isn't an issue (more in the summer), then we can drive the 21 hours...it stinks,  but doable.   For spring break,  even if we drive straight through both ways we have a hard time fitting it in.   My airfare for freedom next march was literally 500 less than the whole cruise.   Yuck...  Jane

I live in Chicago also. I will get up and check Southwest in the middle of the night. I have several flights to Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale. I have purchased my holiday tickets to Tampa roundtrip at 250 per person.

  7. While I was on the Enchantment this past week, I went to the Next Cruise office. I booked a cruise on the Empress July 18, 2018 that is not on their website. Called IT and they are working on the problem. Just wondering on how many great iternary I have missed.
