  1. More than likely - from that week until about April 10th or so - The earlier part of March is more college kids - I prefer the kiddos! HA
  2. Yep two of them - I think the fee if I remember right is $3.00 to take money out but that could have changed Somehow I always seem to use the one in the Casino :P Hope you have a great cruise
  3. Have a great time - like Matt said suggestions for dressing although the White Party is usually fun and good music I'm pretty sure they will have the baseball games - sorry to say by marriage I'm a Cubs fan! but hoping the METs do well
  4. Thanks all- and especially the picture that helps a lot - Deck 3 it is
  5. Hi All The Jewel is one ship I have not been on and I am curious on a few things --Have you sailed in an Ocean View Room --Deck 4, would you choose this deck or would it be too busy with people on it? --Do Deck 4, Cat H's have obstructions? I have seen some photos of rooms but looking for first hand experience, thanks
  6. I'm a big fan of MTD - I like being able to go to dining when I want and often meet people on the cruise that I like to eat with. I still do traditional if we go with a few family groups but overall we like MTD And I do pre-book for dining times a lot before we get on the ship with MTD just so I have something, but the wait staff does very well trying to accommodate changes once on the ship too With Teens I would think MTD would be better than 830 since they may have things going on at night, and will not want to be sitting at dinner until about 10pm, just my thoughts
  7. Yep agree with Marc - groups can have much better rates if they book early and for certain dates holidays, summer to like Alaska etc - some of our Alaska groups are $300-$400 less than published rates now for cruises. Many companies advertise without taxes and fees so upfront they appear lower but are not always
  8. totally agree with Liberty - value for your money and its going to be a great-er ship in my opinion. One of my favorites anyway but I do think your 9 year old would really like it! And again I think the entertainment staff on this ship is my favorite for all the RCI ships that I have been on - meaning the cruise director and shows at night and that goes along way when you are on a sailing for 7 days! Happy to help you !
  9. So funny I actually eat better on a ship I think than at home - but I also don't allow myself to take the elevators that much and the extra walking steps I take seem to help me -but yes I hate the feeling of the "last night" on any ship
  10. awesome - freedom is one of my favorites I think they have the best Entertainment staff
  11. ugh sorry this happened to you all
  12. I often pay down my balance and yes its in US Cash at the Guest services desk - and you can pay it off in cash at the end before you disembark but get there early, as a long line forms disembarkation morning GYM is free, however they do offer yoga, spin and other classes that are not always free but have a nominal cost charged to your room. These will usually be listed in your Daily Compass - and the Gym itself usually has a copy for the whole cruise you can pick up.
  13. yep lots of fun to go on a ship during Halloween and dress up for sure!
  14. sipping champagne on my balcony watching the hurricane go by, lol
  15. agree with Matt and others - I think sailing on the Freedom - but if you also want the relaxation of the port, etc, I have a fondness for Liberty. One of my first ships with groups and really like it as a ship.
  16. ah Dubai is on my list - check with www.viator.com - sometimes they have tours that will pick you up at your hotel and drop you at the ship in time to embark = also www.shoretrips.com may do this as well - I would think, depending on where your hotel is in Dubai you could easily do a morning of a few hours sight seeing. Have fun
  17. Agree with WAAYTOOO the Hertz and Residence Inn connection I have done several times and it works very well - if you have the extra day, heading to the Cape Canaveral area can be fun to visit for something different. Lots of Airport Orlando hotels offer free shuttles to/from airport then you could get the RCI shuttles or rent a car as well. Country Inn and Suites is right next to the Residence Inn too - here are a few more: Hampton Inn Inn at Cocoa Beach (if you want beach front) Ron Jon
  18. I have used Go-Shuttle also all over South Florida. They do shared rides but you can hire then for private too. https://goairportshuttle.com
  19. totally agree.. $2 fare really? I track flights on Kayak all the time, then go direct to the airline site to buy the tickets Takes so much guess work out of watching the fares daily myself. thanks for posting!
  20. What is sad is people don't realize when you book a cruise it clearly states in the cruise contract you get before boarding (its in the documents no one reads) that the ship has a right to make itinerary changes due to weather etc and no compensation will be made. Again - cruising is newer to this region, but I cannot imagine this level of mad to be pulled off a ship.
  21. Woo hoo great to hear you all are finding some good deals! Suites and perks and all
  22. yep call in and ask for a supervisor and tell them you would like to maintain your amenities and get the upgrade - as a good will to you as a customer - they are not losing anything to do this but gaining you as a future sailer that might rebook but keep in mind going forward this most likely is the policy with them and like others have said they can change them or rework them anytime it seems without anyone getting a heads up
  23. its the restaurant/bistro inside the solarium on Quantum
  24. yep they do have meet ups for singles and 20 year olds as well - have a great cruise!
