  1. ... and the on board credit is for the cruise you are booking. Not the current cruise like it once was.
  2. The 48 hours thing and the "Best Price Guarantee" referred to after final payment. There's been no change to repricing before final payment.
  3. As long as my wife still gets a towel animal she'll be happy.
  4. If her name changed, just bring the paper trail with you. All the changes needed legal docs - just have those in case they ask. We sailed with BC out of Port Canaveral in Jan. Nobody asked for the marriage license, but we had it just in case.
  5. I would bring any legal documents required to explain name changes. If you didn't change your name following a divorce, it wouldn't be relevant. For our previous cruises without a passport, we would bring our marriage license just in case. They didn't ask to see it in Jan, but we had it. Passports came in the mail while we were on the cruise.
  6. The survey now asks if you were asked to provide a positive survey. On Mariner in Jan, first week with the new menu AFAIK, we never heard anything from the crew about a survey.
  7. The deposit needed to hold the room can be refundable if you pay the fee. Otherwise there is a $100 per person change fee if you want to change dates, etc. We never booked refundable as the fee for 2 has been $150. Just not worth it if the change fee would be $200. Would need to change almost every booking to make that worth it. However, sometimes a travel agent can offer refundable deposit rates for less than non refundable as I found out when booking with MEI for the first time vs booking direct.
  8. If you don't want to wait until you get to the port, use a library, FedEx, or a printer at the hotel before the cruise.
  9. Probably the same. The Kracken Rum Lava Flow is no more than $14 as it was covered under the drink package.
  10. This past Jan on Mariner (Starlink), I got anywhere from 93Mbps down to just 2 or 3Mbps during the trip. Uploads as high as 30Mbps, but as low as 3 or 4 Mbps. The 93/30 was on day one while still in port, meaning most still had not connected. A couple times in the room I had to drop down the resolution on streaming videos to get them to play through. It was reliable in that I was never without connection, but for video, not ideal all the time. Perhaps it will improve over time.
  11. Believe that is what happened for us last cruise on Mariner. We RU'ed into one of the newer Panaramic Ocean View rooms on deck 12 surrounding the spa. I assume none of those were available on a nearly full sailing so someone probably won a balcony or higher.
  12. As stated, there are too many better cards out there with higher rewards percentages and no restrictions on where it can be spent.
  13. So what does it cost RC to stay docked for an additional 10 minutes? Aren't there additional dock fees? What does is cost RC to have to go a little faster to the next destination? All those costs are absorbed into the cost of doing business and are reflected onto what we all pay when we book a trip. IMO, they can withstand a little heckling in response.
  14. Thanks guys. Very helpful info. I think we are going to go with an 11th deck OV towards the front. They are obstructed, (just under and behind the "wing" on Wonder), but as someone mentioned above - I just want daylight or something to orient me to what time of day it is when I wake up. Don't care about a bit of obstruction.
  15. For this sailing, the OV for 3 is actually $30 cheaper than the virtual balcony. They don't have any other interior rooms for 3 unless you go spacious interior for significantly more.
  16. It's not a Royal Caribbean rule either. They're just following the laws.
  17. Has anyone stayed in a virtual balcony room? I am about to book a trip on Wonder and the VB and OV is just $30 apart total for 3 people. I'm thinking the VB would be the better option as it's likely bigger and odds are the windows are dirty... I'm also kind-of a nerd for new tech. Do you forget it's not a real window? Thoughts from someone who has experienced them?
  18. I believe they are on night 2. Or they were for both of our 4 night trips.
  19. We were very lucky last week on Mariner - only ship there.
  20. Just returned from a cruise last week and our first with the DBP. One thing I noticed was how rare it was to see the name brand alcohol being used for drinks. While I know that those are included in the package, my knowledge of liquor is not very high. Outside of ordering a Lava Flow with Kracken Rum based on Matt's recommendations or a Bombay Sapphire Gin and Tonic, I'm a bit lost. So, what are some of the standard requests when asking for a drink without rail liquor? Do you simply say you want top shelf liquor? Call out certain brands based on the generic liquor types in the menu?
  21. And I thought the person who complained on our cruise about Studio B being too cold was bad... (True story. Cruise director made a joke about it during one of the shows).
  22. I fail to see where any of this is the fault of Royal Caribbean.
  23. Wifi calling working on Mariner Starlink. Getting very nice speeds too. 70-90Mbps.
