  1. I did some more research, and it seems on another board, suites can order breakfast and lunch from the MDR for breakfast and lunch when it is open. This information is a few years old. I'm still digging. As for the suite lounge info, thank you!
  2. Hi there...we are staying in our first Crown Loft Suite. We stayed in a GS several years ago on Radiance, but this is our first stay in a suite on an Oasis class ship (allure). I know there is free room service, but can someone confirm we can order from the MDR menu? In particular, for breakfast or lunch? I remember being able to do dinner, but I don't remember breakfast or lunch. How does that work? Also, since we are so close to the suite lounge, are we allowed to take our drinks from the lounge back to our cabin? Also, is there coffee available in the suite lounge? I may have other questions, but those were the main ones. Thank you!
  3. I booked in Texas City because I was too nervous to stay in Houston and it was too expensive to stay in Galveston.
  4. Wow that's nuts. We got the 3 night on sale for $101.99. I have been seeing it consistently for $116 or $121
  5. Can I ask yow you got them all linked? The only way I know is both parties have to be on the phone with RC and give permission to link reservation. Is there something else I need to do?
  6. We are choosing evening. We go to the MTD pretty much each evening or go to a specialty restaurant around the same time. With the mornings, on sea days, we may sleep in a bit or come in and out of the room after going to the pool. Evening seems easier. We will be gone 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours
  7. For years, we were fine with the mattress until our Anthem cruise in 2018, followed by our Enchantment cruise in 2022. Both terrible. Thankfully the mattress toppers they put in made a significant improvement, otherwise I would have had a terrible time sleeping.
  8. that's a good way of putting it. I see the above poster included some with cords. Ours doesn't have a cord.
  9. You will want to check in at midnight in Seattle's time zone (pacific I believe). If you use the app on your phone, you can just choose your check in time and save it. If you use the website, you need to put in your passport or birth certificate information to complete the check in process. Last year, I tried to check in using the app at 12:01 EST (my cruise was leaving Baltimore) and the app was not updated to take check-ins. I went over to my laptop and used the website to check in. I know a couple of other folks had that problem too so if you notice you can't check in on the app, try going through the website.
  10. Correct. Put it in your carry-on. If they see a power strip, I believe they confiscate it. Folks have had better luck with plug in chargers. I have used mine with 3 usb-c and usb ports, with no problems. Others are right though, you will not find anything in writing from RC stating any kind of power charger or adapter is ok. Only those that folks have been able to get on board.
  11. I'm glad Uber got on board. I have been reading on Cruise Critic that some folks are frustrated about getting rides from terminal to airports. It doesn't seem as easy as other cruise terminals. It's probably because the airport is so much further away.
  12. interesting that it seemed every other chair had the sign? What's up with that?
  13. I appreciate the comment about the elevator. I booked on the 8th deck because I wanted to be near central park and closer to some of the stuff below us. I wondered about the elevators especially on such a big ship.
  14. call room service and let them know your tray is ready to pick up.
  15. It's possible nothing is available to purchase yet. Wait until after April this year. If I remember correctly, I wasn't able to purchase anything until 11 months before my cruise and even that was limited.
  16. Most people probably don't care about this thread, but I do. My wife is deaf and depends on captions
  17. Hi there. You will find a lot of information in this Galveston thread:
  18. Okay, thank you. That makes total sense. I remember having a 10:30 check in time for my Enchantment cruise. We had to wait a few minutes in a holding area while another group (assuming suite, key, pinnacle) boarded first. By the time, we went through security, documents, and the very short wait in the holding area, we were on board before 11am. Thanks again!
  19. I'm curious why they offer a 10am check in time if they don't check people in at that time?
  20. We booked August 27th (7 nights) and saw fares as low as $411 a person for inside cabins and $495 a person for balcony cabins. I got a junior suite total for 2 people for $2995. Prices are definitely up now. Insides were just $564 and junior suite (2 people) was $3800. I was eyeing a grand suite for $4000 (2 people), hoping the price would go down. It's $6000 (2 people) for the grand suite now!
  21. I asked on page 19, in October, and the last I heard is it was not a done deal. That’s the last time I see this thread talking about it too. I would love to know if there is an update. updated to add: I saw a post on the previous page saying on January 3rd, the person posted they were on allure the week before (so last week of Dec), and Uber was still not able to pick up in the cruise terminal
  22. Update regarding Galveston Saltwater Moms. They now only accept 5 or fewer passengers. Their previous driver, Stephanie, started her own business called Space City Moms and they accept more than 5 passengers now. Seems both are really small companies? I asked Saltwater Moms about booking two vehicles for six people and I was told they do not tie up 2 SUVs for six people.
  23. Quick answer for anyone who looks here. The solarium is the only place on Allure with a made to order omelet station.
  24. Glad to hear it! Curious what time was your boarding time and what time did you go to board? (Many are not following their assigned boarding time so that's why I am asking). Thanks!
