Yeah, MOST group rates are for Double occupancy rooms. At this point anything we book now, he'd be past the KSF age, so at this point that's out. BUT next year, we may do that and book two rooms, one under each adult\one kid and let him bring a friend. If we can manage adjoining rooms AND 2 group rate rooms, it might be worth a shot!

Fiona described it, but in addition to the printed version you can ask for, you can also download a PDF version of it to your phone every night for the following day- there is a QR code on the scheduled events channel in your room, and also usually hanging up by Guest services. I found this a neat way to save them without having to ask for the printed copies.

Yeah, unfortunately being three of us usually knocks us out of the group rate pricing, so to go cheap, we can go GTY, we got an inside, well an Ocean VIEW room for the next one, so we took our chance. We'll either be way at the bottom or get reallllly lucky and have one of the front facing, spacious rooms. Either way we are happy. I think my kid will like looking out the window and being almost level with the water.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it if you aren't really specific about where you are. We have a gty for our next cruise and not worried about a thing

For some reason Ice Skating and Laser tag both show up once you board. Even if you look at the app of a current sailing, they won't show up unless you are physically on the ship.

I'm just going off watching people- most of them seem to grab a water and walk away, almost in one motion. I usually grab a bottle of water AND something else, usually a red bull or a glass of wine for the wife, so I throw a buck or two down for that anyway, I think the only time I've grabbed water on it's own is on the gangway.

Yeah, it's hard to find the perfect combo of both outside of the area. Gotta just go get yourself some fresh shaved rib eye from the supermarket and buy a few rolls and make it yourself!

Something a bartender told me a few months back is that they only get the gratuity if they serve something other than water to someone with a deluxe package... he told me when people come up and grab bottles of water, they aren't entered into the computer, they just hand those out when a card is flashed, therefore no record of the "sale". So he would constantly try to talk them into taking a soda or can of beer to bring back to the room for later so he could enter an actual transaction, which then brings up his "sales" and adding to his daily tips. I saw him practically begging a guy to take a red bull or coke with him and the guy kept declining, just wanted the water... I asked him why he was trying to push the cans so much, and he explained this all to me. This and the fact that no one really tips cash on a water

You have to specify at nextcruise that you want to buy it for celebrity. They aren't interchangeable, so if you got one through the app...it'll be for Royal only.

I haven't been yet, but is it true that the tracks on the freedom class ships incline a little toward the front? On liberty it looks like they gradually go up a deck when you get to the fwd section of the ship.

I'd love to take the train up from Philly, I just see it being more of a hassle than it's worth with 3 of us and luggage. I guess I'll just fork over the 30 bucks a night for the car

Yep- I don't have a bucket list, per say, but would like to see as many places as possible. If we lived near a port and could do some quick 2-3 day runs to coco cay here and there, I'd be all about it. But for a full week cruise from NJ or Miami, it's gotta be a combo of Ship AND destinations for us to make the money and time off from work or school worth it.

I agree, it's what I expected, but going to Nassau and coco cay AGAIN and AGAIN aren't up our alley. Still eyeing up a Canada trip, possibly.

Wait Aioli isn't just garlicky mayo!? ( I kid) But these two posts are why I don't take anyone's advice on food. I am are far from a foodie (I'm know in my area as Cheesesteak Scott...not exactly a gourmet food reviewer) I don't need everything to be perfect, as long as its good. And so far I have had almost nothing, that one Mediterranean steak aside, that I would deem bad. BUT people on my exact same cruises either raved or complained about every meal on facebook. I think a large part of the people who complain are people who cruise A LOT and have a lot of past meals to compare it to...they may not be the quality they were years ago, but to someone who is a casual cruiser like myself, without a huge span of menus and meals to compare it to, the food is just fine.

Talk about timing- my TA just sent me an email confirming some final details before final payment coming up, she also threw this little note in... "-Price: Your price has increased by $600, so you still have the best price at this time" So my room is actually $600 more than it was when I booked it almost 5 months ago.

Yep- I picked mine because it was the lowest price of the 3 sailings in July. It's now going for way more than the other two sailings, and my room category is up about $400.

Yep-its the crowd and the terminal- just hard to get a connection. I'll ALWAYS have the screen shot as a back up from now on! Have fun on the cruise!
