  1. Just got off the Symphony and we tried to just use the app but was hard to find some information and wound up asking our room attendant for the paper compass and she left one every day going forward - it is just so much easier to see things laid out in the printed version and easier to find some of the more basic info
  2. I am departing the Symphony today and had the lobster tail in MDR and it was definitely a northern cool water tail ... Not the biggest one but decent size. And I was able to make it a surf and turf by adding it to the steak - which was well cooked and season well. Overall it was a really good meal
  3. I am currently on Symphony and just took this picture of the outlet on the side of the bed ... Note there is only an outlet on one side of the bed, nothing on the other We are in an ultra spacious ocean view room
  4. Just got out of MDR on Symphony of the Seas on "lobster night" and I ordered the steak and the lobster ... Our server indicated he could bring out one and the next or make it a "surf and turf" - I opted for the later so basically was the lobster tail and butter added to my plate with the steak. Both the steak and lobster were really good, very happy with this meal
  5. Just got out of MDR (on Symphony of the Seas) and it was Dress Your Best/Lobster night I ordered the steak and the lobster and our server asked if I wanted it brought one after the other or do a "surf and turf" - I picked the later. BTW they were basically encouraging anyone who selected something other than the lobster to also get a lobster so definitely not an issue with that. They were reminding people about extra charge for second lobster (though my daughter ordered a lobster that my wife then ate as her 2nd and no issues) Really good meal overall!
  6. So we had two of the same, one in our carry on and one in a checked bag The carry on got through no issue but when we got the checked bag we got the note about it being confiscated... I went to ask why when the other one made it through they then had security escort me back to my room to confiscate the one that had gotten through
  7. Just got on Symphony of the Seas and the multiplug adapter for confiscated. Was not a power strip but that said "anything with multiple plugs is a safety issues" and said they had confiscated a ton of them So if you have a trip coming up be mindful
  8. FYI - just boarded the Symphony of the Seas and they said they are NOT doing WOW Bands on this sailing - so must have been a test of some type
  9. We are at the airport now heading to Florida - spending a few days with relatives before heading to the port. Hope everyone travels safe!
  10. Same - one was only a shift from 7 to 7:15 but another was 7 to 8:15. Guess they just tweaked some things but a bit annoying. Did have a small panic attack when saw the emails coming me in as the subject of the email was pretty vague so didn't know what it was for lol
  11. Just an FYI that entertainment is open for booking ... able to book Hairspray, Hiro, Flight, 1977, and the adult comedy
  12. So I logged in today and went to "Entertainment" and it changed from a screen saying they are still preparing things to one saying "reserve shows now" but there is nothing there I assume (hope) just hasn't really loaded anything yet but has me a little anxious I am missing out (on the Feb 18th Symphony of the Seas sailing) EDIT: became available to book this evening - was able to book Hairspray, Hiro, Flight, 1977, and the adult comedy
  13. I am also on the 18th sailing on the Symphony and have just been checking daily but so far not open - thinking it will b any day now, but also doesn't seem to be a ton of consistency on exactly how far out it opens
  14. Interesting, I am not able to book show yet for my Feb 18th sailing on Symphony, so does seem to vary and if uses just keep checking once withing 60 days or so
  15. We are on this cruise! (Will be our first RCL cruise) Myself and my wife and our 3 kids: daughter (turing 14 on the cruise), son (11), and younger daughter (8)
  16. I feel like drink prices are going up everywhere so $14 doesn't seem all that bad (at least for some of them) - though may depend on where you live (being near NYC there are some expensive drinks are some places) I also see a benefit of the drink package that I feel more open to try different things - and if I don't like it, oh well, just get another drink, whereas if I had to pay $ specifically for that drink you better believe I will be finishing it, no matter what it tastes like lol
  17. I used a travel agent but they did have to make basically two separate reservations that are linked - 4 people on one and 1 person on the other, but I see them connected on the trip planner I do hope if they are going to continue this trend of offering more rooms that fit more than 4 they make it easier to book a room with more than 4 people in it
  18. Booked for Presidents Week February 2024 - only about a month after the inaugural sailing ... so figure won't have all the kinks worked out but hopefully some/most of them. Excited to sail such a new ship and will be fun seeing all the info come out over time for it Was excited they have the new family rooms that sleep up to 6 - as a family of 5, the options in the past were a bit limited
  19. Booked a Infinite Family Balcony stateroom for Presidents Week in 2024, Western Caribbean ... was excited to see this type of cabin added as we are a family of 5
  20. Thanks for the response - right now the pricing for the 3 meal is showing up as $101.99/adults and $29.99/kid (with the "up to 40% off" promotion). We were thinking of doing this for the kids ... is there any issue with mixing packages like that - if we get the unlimited for my wife and myself? I assume we just pick the same preferred dining time for the preselected one they would do and hopefully we get assigned the same one Guess in the end just trying to weight the pros and cons of doing the smaller package for them vs just doing out of pocket for any we might do
  21. Hi everyone, We have our first Royal Caribbean Cruise coming up next February. Checked for our sailing online and they have introduced a sale on the Dining Packages so we are keen to book one. It is a 7 night sailing with 3 sea days so I feel like my wife and I would get good use out of the unlimited plan, but our thoughts are that we would likely only have our kids join us for a few of the meals. Kids will be ages 14, 11, and 8 for the sailings. I have read posts here and elsewhere and blogs, etc and am still confused the best way to make this work. Is it easiest to just get the package for my wife and I and then book any meals we want to do together for 5 people and pay the per meal cost for the kids? Can we get the unlimited for us but then the 3 meal package for the kids - or does mixing packages confuse things? And for these meals, for the 14 year old, if we do just pay per meal, if she requests a kids meal is it the kids cost or will she have to pay the adult rate? Thanks - just saw the indication of a 45% off the package price for the unlimited plan and got excited and also anxious lol
