  1. On the ship now and we did the Royal Railway tonight and thought it was fantastic. The cast and servers are all great and so many good puns throughout. The motion effects are pretty darn convincing Food, especially factoring presentation, I would say is lower end of specialty/better than MDR - definitely not 5 star dining or anything but rather good. Had The empanadas which were great and The short rib which was good, but a bit fatty. Got a sasparilla old fashioned which was really good too. It was me and two of my kids l, ages 12 and 10, and they both really enjoyed it. Part way through my son said to me "Dad, thanks for this" We got in with the introductory pricing and I think it was 100% worth that. At the no have gher price on think that is pushing it a little bit but would probably pay it to do it once. Quick note that they let my daughter order off the adult menu even though we paid the kids rate
  2. I never saw it available in the app, only on the website
  3. I am on that sailing too and booked it last Thursday, the 18th. I saw it available on the website until last Sunday so afraid it might be sold out, unless they have more spots they hadn't made available yet
  4. I have heard 30 days but someone said they got in a little further out that that When I called the first person wasn't able to help but then called again and got a second person who was able to book me with no issues/hesitation .... So if you are at/inside 30 days or know someone else in your sailing that got it, I would try calling again
  5. Hopefully with have more offerings, including brunch time and the whisky tasting, so not *just* the dinner seatings there will be more capacity but will be a tough ticket for the near term
  6. I just checked and I am not seeing any availability left at all now for my sailing
  7. They definitely do - I know on my sailing someone is looking for a table of 2 and is all sold out and I see when I go in if I only select 2 people there are no options but when I add a 3rd then I can book (only had day 1 and 3 at 8:30pm left, but at least something)
  8. I am just Gold ... I wound up calling to get it done, but I do see it on the website for my trip now though and would be able to reserve another time
  9. Was able to book for my Aug 16th trip Myself and my two kids, pricing was lower than expected Was $75.99 for me and $25.99 for each kid - pretty excited
  10. You can have the kids stay at AO during your dinner. They will take the kids to Surfside Eatery for their dinner. Just explain your situation and it will be fine. The main thing is they don't have organized activities during the off times so kids might have to do more entertaining themselves
  11. Definitely agree that not many will travel there *just* for the cruise, but as part of a larger vacation it can make sense As an example, we are combining it with doing 6 nights at Disney first, and then the 3 next night cruise before flying home.
  12. I am on Utopia next month (saying Aug 16th) and definitely plan to frequent the Pesky Parrot so will report back
  13. Just saw that the menus for the Pesky Parrot for my Utopia of the Seas sailing. These are the cocktails and zero proof cocktails, also a lot of beer and wine listed
  14. Not sure - the menu says "dips and butter". The left most looks like butter and the front right looks like maybe pimento cheese... Just guessing though
  15. Some good pics (all are from Keith Moore on Facebook)
  16. From someone testing our Royal Railway today, some better photos of menu including kids menu
  17. I am very happy their is a kid's price as my kids are very excited for this - this will be our splurge for the trip. Obviously wish it was a little less but better than I feared. My wife and I did Empire Supper Club and thought that was absolutely worth the money so hoping they deliver here as well (obviously different type of experience)
  18. I know the cost, but until we see the quality of the food and presentation it will be hard to know if worth it (and even then, "worth" obviously varies by person). Omakase can cost a lot more than this but really depends on the specifics if worth it
  19. That is interesting - u think it is taking place just in the regular Izumi space vs like the Empire Supper Club which had its own space, but fair point
  20. This is new to Utopia - they may add it to other ships but this is the first time it is being offered, so we don't know much about the specifics beyond what is on the page, so hard to know if worth the cost, etc until Utopia starts sailing
  21. It's not typically paired with bourbon specifically, each course is paired with a different cocktails that use a variety of liquors. Not sure if you can ask for alternatives but it isn't the default at least
  22. At least the photo on the app shows several guys and none have a sport coat/jacket on, definitely looks less formal than Empire Super Club (though the server in the picture seems have similar/same uniform as ESC) Also only 5 course, so less than ESC and mentions biscuits and short ribs vs ESC highlighting Wagu and caviar -so hoping pricing will be at least little less. Obviously not cheap lol
  23. Part 9: Perfect Day NOT at Coco Cay, part 2 I brought the fancy shake back to the room so the kids could try it too as we didn't get the boozy version and then my wife and I went to the Hideaway to check that area out as we hadn't spent much there there beyond checking out the bar once. The area is really nice and just has a different vibe to it and this was a great time there as very low crowds and the DJ was pretty chill - definitely noticed other times it could get very crowded and the DJ could be thumping (not really my vibe) but for now we enjoyed it Then my wife had to do the Flowrider as she couldn't let me be the only parent to do it lol This evening we decided to just eat dinner in th Windjammer - just felt like a more relaxed experience for our final night and people didn't seem too into the options on the MDR menu We did get word via our Facebook group that someone had planted ducks in yh overlook area and my youngest hadn't found one yet so off we went on the hunt, and she found one! My son went off with his friends for the evening but the rest of us wanted to see some of the shows again so while in that area I went to check on the standby process for the Aquashow - I got mixed answers from different crew members but ultimately found that the chairs at the top, above the wooden benches are not subject to reservations so we took a few that were at the high tables (also gave a spot to out our drinks and crepes )... Overall I thought these were way more comfortable than the benches and recommended just coming early and taking some of these vs worrying about reservations. The show was great again and after they showed us a new segment they were working on which featured a gymnast balancing on handholds. How she can do all this while the water is coming down and the ship is swaying I have no idea. They said this might be worked into the show later or might be part of show on Star of the Seas After that My wife and oldest went back to the room to finish up packing (we did a fair amount before dinner) and my you great and I went to go see Wizard of Oz (2nd time for me, first for her). Again, just a wonderful show (they did have some tech issues with the sound and paused the show for about 10mins until fixed, but not a big deal) Then back to the room and got ready for bed (my wife got all the suitcases outside the room already) The next morning we met up with the families we had become friends with for a final send off breakfast and for kids to exchange contact info. We had the 8:30 departure time but at about 8:15 they announced all luggage was ready and that everyone could leave then. We got out bags and took a shuttle back to the airport (we hadn't prearranged anything and it was a little hectic as to which way to go to find what, but worked out in the end). We picked up a rental car to drive back up to West Palm Beach airport, stopping at my wife's aunt's place to see her. We were in the rental car by 9:20am, so pretty quick process overall Coming up next (and last): final thoughts and do we think Icon is worth the $$$?
  24. Part 8: Perfect Day NOT at Coco Cay, part 1 Our last full day on the ship arrived with the ship docked at Perfect Day at Coco Cay - however no one was really feeling getting off and we wanted to explore this ship more with low crowds so we opted to not get off - turned out to be a great idea First though, my usual breakfast of a mocha with an extra shot and a steak and egg sandwich, with a view. I was the first one ready and went to explore the pool deck and was happy to see how empty they were this was at 10:15 and basically no one there (this area is always packed on sea days) Got myself a Lime and Coconut and just hung out for a while Eventually my son joined me but he wanted to explore various hot tubs and pools. This was such an enjoyable time as just no one around (never more than a couple of people at any spot) so was so easy to check out the various options I think my favorite was the Cloud 17 pool on deck 17. Nice a deep but with sitting areas in the water and right up against the glass for great views My son then wanted to try the Flowrider and he talked me into doing it as well. I am rather uncoordinated an have never done anything like this - but managed to actually do it a little. The guy there just kept telling me to relax, but I always have an issue with that (even while vacationing lol) We did lunch at the Aquadome market which was great again - Feta is like the best food on the ship. And then I got one of the fancy milkshakes which was the last think I needed to complete the bar crawl we were doing. It's fun but soooo overpriced - definitely not something I would get again Coming up next, some more pool fun, our last dinner, and evening if shows (plus lots of packing!)
  25. I didn't see it anywhere and agree, likely exclusive to Mason Jar
