I don’t think Carnival Freedom was connected to shore power.
Grand Turk, where the ship was docked does not have shore power

We have the early traditional dining for our upcoming cruise on HOTS. If we can't make our time due to being in port or doing something else on board are we able to go to the MDR later in the evening?
No. once you are assigned a traditional dinning time that is your time for the rest of the cruise. if you can not go to the dinning room during your assigned dinning time you will need to go somewhere else for dinner like the buffet

If I were you, I'd go to https://www.arrivecan-canada.com/ and follow the instructions. Don't jeopardize anything.
be aware that is an unofficial site and is not from the canada government. Arrivecan is free and there is no payment required like what that site claims
here is the official arrivecan form from the canada government:

While I'm not in favor of enforced boarding times, I do believe that, as stated, depending on the day of the week, port, ship, who got a wedgie that day, and so on, your boarding time may or may not be enforced. It's like most service/hospitality industry rules, and/or procedures, they become suggestions because of all the squeaky wheels and the industry is afraid to piss ANYONE off. Well, except for those of us that follow the rules even if we don't like them.
thats annoying. looks like i am going to have fun tomorrow boarding the adventure

I’m on this sailing. Nothing from RC by email yet, but it’s now (hidden) as a requirement in the app. When you open the app, there’s a blue banner that says “welcome aboard!” Click on that and it says that all guests must complete the mandatory travel information prior to your entry into Canada via the arrivecan website regardless of whether or not they choose to go ashore.
on my app it does not have that. i only see the usually things about what to pack, using the app, make reservations, etc, etc

Is this Arrivecan only needed for Alaska cruises on the west coast? Is this needed for the Canada/New England out of Cape Liberty? I am thinking it is required for the Canada/new cruises because it is a Canada government requirement
Sailing on the Adventure next week and so far Royal has not sent any emails about this and when i checked their requirements for sailings out of Cape Liberty there is nothing about this. For my cruise the first canada port is Halifax

on another cruise line they just canceled a few specifically dinning options due to staff shortages. this other cruise line seems to be honesty with these problems unlike royal

Honestly, we have always found that the most convenient thing is to take the Royal [bus] shuttle. I know a lot of people pooh-pooh the shuttle b/c you have to wait around for it to "fill up" but it is by far the least stressful way to get from the airport to the port and vice versa. ...and you're able to book it as part of your rez so it's just more convenient, IMO. It seems like the few times we have tried Uber from EWR/Port Liberty we have had complications (the driver couldn't find us, etc.). I'm all about "easy" even if it might cost a little more.
i am sailing on the Adventure next week out of Cape Liberty. there is no direct shuttle to the airport. the only transfer they offer is a Manhattan highlights tour that then takes you to the airport

When I logged in to the royal caribbean site, it shows my Time dining, and click reserve. After I click it under my name and family members name it says, "not a flex dining guest"
Anybody know what this means "not a flex dining guest?" Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
it means you have traditional dinning and not my time dinning

you can get get off once the ship is cleared by the officials. expect long waits and longer time to get off due to crowds once they make that all clear announcement
-
depending on the ship, the sofa might have storage drawers on the bottom and the chair under the desk sometimes has storage in it if you remove the top piece

All of my cruise documents, booking and covid test results is always done with my first and last name. My passport has my middle name. Ive been cruising for over 10 years and never had any issues with my middle name not being on my boarding pass/booking and other documents

i am sailing on the adventure of the seas canada/new england cruise out of Cape Liberty in 3 weeks. So far i received no emails from Royal about Arrivecan and when i checked their website for requirements for sailings out of Cape Liberty there is also nothing about the Arrivecan
i expect the checkin process will be a big problem like this for my sailing

Check out KS Watersports: https://www.kswatersports.com/, they are similar to BDA watersports
KS watersports has excursions out of the dockyard where the ship docks
-
You can use any covid test you get from government and get it proctored using this service: https://rapidtestandtrace.com/product/observed-test-for-travel/

what happens if my insurance covers the test but not the visit itself?
