  1. This is awesome - thank you SO MUCH WAAAYTOO! You rock. We're definitely going to do our research and make sure that we go in as informed consumers. I'll go in with the mindset of not being totally set on something and willing to walk away, but I just think it'd be kind of nice to have a fun memory in the Bahamas attached to his wedding band since we both love cruising so much... our honeymoon is even a B2B on Allure! :) Thank you!!!!!! :)
  2. Thank you - this is exactly the type of thing I was looking for, and I figured about as much regarding shopping in Nassau since it's such a frequently visited port. I've heard all kinds of horror stories, and really wouldn't want to come home and find out that such an important purchase wasn't what we thought it was. So, do you think we'd be okay at least taking a look at Diamonds International? Or are we better off just sticking with something at home?
  3. Ahh I know! I knew there were a lot of people on her very recently... this just came up this past weekend. Thank you, anyway! :)
  4. I posted there as well. :) Just really hoping to get some visibility on this since Christmas is coming up fast! Haha! I'd love to be able to help my friend out!
  5. Just saw this - so hopefully not too late! While I haven't experienced them myself, I've hung out in the area where the beach beds are placed and they look very nice. There is also a nearby bar and bathrooms dedicated to the private reserved area. The water itself is a little muddy in spots with some sea grass, but there is a sandbar you can wander out to and lounge. Also, there is a shuttle that will take you to and from the tender area and back and also bring you over to lunch so you don't have to hike, but the walk up along the beach back to the main area and the tenders is very pretty.
  6. Hey guys, I'll be cruising to Nassau on Majesty coming up in February, and my fiance and I had the idea to try and find a wedding band for him while in port. Does anyone have advice for jewelry shopping in Nassau (or, should we not consider this as an option?), and advice on the best places to go as far as reputation and quality? Thanks!
  7. Hey guys, I posted this in another thread, but really crossing my fingers for some help on this one! A friend of mine is surprising his wife with a cruise for Christmas, and I was hoping to try and help him out and see if anyone might have an Adventure ship model so she has something to open on Christmas morning. Thanks, all!
  8. REALLY hoping someone can help me out on this one... A friend of mine wants to surprise his wife with a cruise for Christmas and wants a ship model so she has something to open the morning of... any chance anyone has an Adventure OTS model they could share and ship before Christmas? Will gladly pay for shipping.
  9. Yep - my future MIL frequently orders fruit plates in place of dessert in the main dining room.
  10. The Deluxe Package includes bottled water, sparkling water, specialty coffees (at the non-Starbucks kiosk), and alcohol. I've found that if you drink more than a few alcoholic beverages a day, you're better off with the package. Mimosas with breakfast, a drink or two by the pool, and wine with dinner adds up quickly. Also, there's definitely something to be said for not having to worry about what your bill will be at the end of the cruise. As for non-alcoholic packages, I believe there are one or two options that include bottled water, fresh juices, coffees, soda, etc.
  11. AHH! I have a B2B on Allure booked for my honeymoon ... super excited to see that feedback!
  12. SO... for Chef's table, they were EASILY able to accommodate my request for specialty diets and were SUPER nice about it. The wine and all of the food was absolutely amazing. 10/10 experience and would definitely go again. Vlad on Brilliance of the Seas is wonderful!
  13. Talk to the MDR once you board - typically, you'll be able to see the menu before your meal each night and make special requests. I've heard of lots of people getting plates of grilled veggies and curries whipped up to accommodate a vegan diet. Also lots of options in the Windjammer and usually a fantastic salad bar and oats and potatoes... AND usually on sea day afternoons there is a nacho bar so you can load up on salsa and guac and veggies... though I believe Sabor guacamole would be preferred! :) Also, if your ship has Johnny Rocket's their veggie burger is awesome! I've oscillated back and forth from Vegan to Pescetarian and am leaning much more closely to Vegan at the moment, so I've done a little research around this. It's definitely doable, just takes talking to the right people. They'll go out of their way for you. :) OH - and if you have Izumi, check in to some of their veggie sushi rolls! I think they also have a tofu dish that looked pretty awesome from what I recall. You'll have no problem eating vegan on board.
  14. It seems like Voom is struggling fleetwide. I had a lot of issues with Voom on Brilliance a few weeks ago.
  15. It's basically a terribly kept secret that as soon as the cruise line is able to send a ship to Cuba, that's what Empress is destined for. They needed a small ship that would be able to dock there, so that's why they pulled Empress back from Pullmantur. They've been incrementally adding sailings every few months out, so that once RCCL gets the OK to send the ship Empress will be able to add those itineraries.
  16. I read something someplace about when Celebrity is in port on embarkation day for one of it's 14 day sailings, if Navigator happens to also be embarking on an odd Sunday where the Celebrity ship is also in port Navigator gets pushed over to the tent system. I really wish I had a source for this so I could give credit where deserved - I think someone on one of the many Facebook groups shared this bit of info.
  17. So, not sure how long it'll last.. but Giovanni's had the old menu on Brilliance.
  18. I'll make sure to take pictures from each of the specialty restaurants I'm going to on Brilliance and making a post. :) (Chef's Table, Giovanni's Table, Chops, and Izumi)
  19. Hmmm.. I've never tried the old or new menu but hoping the new one is offered on my Brilliance cruise next week! Will be eating there on Sunday.
  20. Always happy to spread the LOLZ :)
  21. Voom still displays at 8.99 for me! Hope it stays put! :D
  22. I've noticed recently they've started printing your drink package on to your sea pass rather than applying a sticker.
