  1. I dunno. I liked Cats. That being said.......I've liked Cats since the 80s. I was taken several times as a child to see it on Broadway; my mom prepared me for it back then so I understood what it was all about (she read me the TS Eliot poems, bought me an illustrated kid's guide, bought me the soundtrack tapes, etc). Seeing it on the Oasis brought back a bunch of great memories of my childhood, my mom....all of that. My 9 year old liked it; but I gave her the background ahead of time kind of like how my mom introduced me. I thought it was pretty faithful to the original Broadway production given the constraints of being at sea (though shorter...which works just fine on a cruise!) I *totally* get why people don't like it though...it's not your typical musical with a clear plot, etc. It's probably not a good choice for a cruise musical...to potentially enjoy it; you really need to have an understanding of it beforehand. They would be better off going with Phantom, Fiddler, etc, etc. Or perhaps something original!
  2. I. Love. Duck. I too was disappointed by the lack of duck on the menu (the duck terrine (pictured) was fantastic though....we ordered 2!). My husband was not disappointed as he is not a duck fan and quite enjoyed the coq au vin. (I actually visit a major duck processing facility daily as part of my job (I work in gov food inspection/safety). I should tell 'em they should get their product on Royal to make all of us duck lovers happy )
  3. We actually saw a group of new employees being ushered around and shown the ropes. From what we saw, they looked like they were being given a good intro. Looking forward to being back on board Oasis in October.
  4. I put the date of my booster Not sure that it matters what date you put as long as those 2 initial shots are on there.
  5. We were on the May 29th Oasis sailing. We had MTD, didn't have issues. Sometimes there was a short wait but we never waited over 15 minutes. I'm sure they are short-staffed but I never noticed any major effects.
  6. Our room attendant on Oasis 2 weeks ago, right after introducing herself upon us first entering our room, pointed to the master switch and firmly said " This button? Here? DON'T TOUCH IT or you will not have a good time" I found our cabin on Oasis (midship oceanview balcony on Deck 12) to be in great shape. No obvious wear other than slight wear/ deterioration of the curtains.
  7. Was running when we were onboard at the end of May/beginning of June. Went twice!
  8. I think it's a pretty cool sailaway! Lots of interesting boat traffic on the river, NYC skyline and going under the Verrazano is really cool (every time I swear we aren't going to make it ) These pics from Oasis on May 29th.
  9. Ordered mine yesterday afternoon, website says they will be delivered on Monday. "Overnight delivery". On Pluto perhaps.....
  10. Submitted ours on the 14th of this month (for 5/29 sailing) through the app. All 3 of ours still validating.
  11. I just did it (stayed up until midnight, checked in at 12:03....had to log out of app and log back in as check in was not showing up as open....). Was easy, only completed a few of the required items after picking the check in time (11am...woohoo!). Went back the next day to finish with no problem. Don't try and use the website though if you want to upload vaccine card, passport, etc pictures. That can only be done on the app.
  12. Thank you all for your help! I agree, it seems as though we will have a double sofa. I am glad that it appears that the sofa is near the balcony. I'll update once I see the room next month
  13. Hello! Quick question about cabin configuration. We (me, DH and DD, 9) are booked on Oasis of the Seas leaving at the end of May. We used Marriott Bonvoy to book. On their booking page, the cabin we selected (12686) was called category 3D, Oceanview balcony. When we called to book, the agent indicated that the asterix on the deck plan indicated that it "had a third Pullman bed available". It states the same on the deck plan on their website. After booking, I was looking around the 'net to see what this room might look like and found a ton of conflicting info. Some sites said it was a 2 person room only. Some said 3 or 4. I've seen it called Category 5 or 6D. Royal Caribbean's official deck plan only indicates an asterix in that cabin that correlates with "Stateroom with occupancy up to 4" with no mention of a Pullman. So, what do you cruise experts think we are getting? I'd actually like the Pullman, as would my daughter (hopefully over a sofa) but as long as the room accommodates our 3 then I'm ok with whatever. I'd just like to know what we have. Any thoughts?
  14. Following. I'm hoping to give my 9 year old a walkie as well for those times she is at Adventure Ocean. She is excited to check it out and ditch us but it is her first cruise and I'd rather she be able to communicate with us if she wanted.
  15. I just can't get past cruising monthly. I mean....I love a good cruise/vacation as much as the next person but I also enjoy y'know....my regular life at home. Perhaps OP just needs a cruise break and a reset. Or a nice camping trip in the middle of the woods.
  16. I'm fine with them being strong myself. I think I'll stick to my light colored swimsuits. I've seen people stick their heads under water in hot tubs.....now that's yuk!
  17. Mmmhmm. Helpful. But for those that want to hit the hot human marinade tubs (and or/pool?); does anyone have experience with how chemical-y they are?
  18. Hi all! Bit of a strange question I've got.....what kind of chemicals/strength of chemicals are typically found in the hot tubs and/or pools on Oasis of the Seas? I'm asking because on a previous cruise (Norwegian Sun) the chemicals in the water completely ruined my bathing suits (bleached them out). I've also cruised on Princess in the past and didn't notice this. As I've never cruised RC (my first experience is coming up in May), I'm wondering if they use products known to bleach....has anyone noticed their suits bring affected? I'll definitely leave my good suits at home if so.
