Hey all!
We’ve only cruised once before, in fall of 2022 on NOTS in the Mexican Riviera and had a blast. Loved it so much that we decided to go ahead and book the next cruise to Norway and the Arctic Circle in August of 2024. A few days ago we were told that our cruise had been cancelled (
) and one option was to re-book for the July 5th sailing of basically the same itinerary, and that worked out thank goodness! My question is this: our original stateroom was a junior suite guarantee but they transferred us to a regular stateroom and assigned us junior suite 1594 on Deck 10. I’ve been googling trying to find a video walk through of that cabin to no avail…anyone know where I should look? Also, has anyone been on Jewel of the Seas lately and have any tips for us? This is our first European trip ever and we’re SO excited…especially since we were quickly helped to re-book by our fabulous TA, Grace of MEI Travel. Thanks for any and all comments and suggestions!!!

Hi everyone! We’ll be in Cabo for the day next week and have decided that we don’t want to do an excursion…we just want to chill. The things we’re looking for are: good food, free (good) wifi, and a nice view of the ocean/ambiance. Also any suggestions on places/streets to stroll down or fun things to see for free? Since we’re doing excursions in Mazatlan and Puerta Vallarta, we just want to go with the flow in Cabo. LOL. Any and all suggestions welcome!!!

I was able to jump on 1 minute after the updates and I saw the Deluxe Drink Package change from $78/pp to $63/pp which (7 day cruise) which said 35% off. When I added it to the cart, the price changed back to $78/pp with BOGO 50% which added $200 more to my total.
I had to refresh the page (both in cart and in checkout) several times to finally get it to stay on the $63/pp price. Hope this helps someone that might be seeing the BOGO 50% off price instead of the high savings promotion!
Which website changer notification thingy do you use? That seems very useful!

I booked the 12 night Arctic cruise for 2024 today. I couldn't pass it up. I've been on Jewel before. It was my first RCL cruise actually. I liked her. The food is the same as the other ships.
We’re going to book as well! We just reached out to our TA for the August one. Already looking forward to it!!!

I’m going on my first cruise right after thanksgiving…can you tell me more about the difference between going from the Navigator (which I realize is a bigger ship) to the Jewel? We don’t mind boring and less to do onboard because of all the excursion possibilities in Norway…but is the service the same? Food still good?

I just looked and the 7 night itineraries are only a few bucks cheaper than the 12 night arctic circle cruise…hmmm…I might be in the market for the 12 night after all!!!

Ah. I think I see the issue. I’m looking specifically for the fjords itinerary…and that one doesn’t have 2024 dates yet. Boo. I wonder if that means they won’t be offering that one?

Hey all…I just checked the RC website and for Norway there are zero 2024 sailings listed…I thought that all the Europe calendar had been released (according to the YouTube video from today anyway)?. This is an itinerary I’ve been planning for for over a year so I’m looking to book it the day it’s released!!! LOL.

Any tips on getting the most out of Cabo without an excursion? We’re doing a city tour in Mazatlan and a resort beach type day in Puerta Vallarta so want nothing specifically planned in Cabo but still want to enjoy ourselves. Would love any and all suggestions!

I can’t believe this but…the passport shows as delivered now but we didn’t receive it. This has turned nightmarish now as the passport people did what they were supposed to do (they mailed us his passport) but are now telling us that if it was lost in transit, we’ll have to go to a passport office within 2 weeks of travel. The nearest passport office to us is either San Diego or Los Angeles and we’re in Las Vegas! My partner is freaking out even more now…because there’s no way we can make that happen. So plan B…he can use his birth certificate and his real ID driver’s license, yes? Can he get off the ship at Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerta Vallarta or will he have to stay on the ship the entire 7 day cruise? This situation is definitely putting an damper on our travel plans. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!!

One thing to consider is the Starbucks coffee you can have made sugar free. I am not sure if the specialty coffees have that option. We liked them on our last cruise, but hubby is diabetic now so we will be getting his from Starbucks if there is not a SF option.
This the the thing really…he’s borderline diabetic at this point so I’m thinking the sugar free options at SB might be best even tho it costs more than CP…lots to think about!!!

That’s a great idea! It’s 10 weeks on Monday so if he doesn’t receive it by then (or if it doesn’t say shipped when we check the status) we’ll reach out to our representative! Thank you!!!

Our family of 3 applied back in June for passports. My wife and son got theirs back in 4 weeks. Mine did not and was still showing received and processing. Come to find out one number could not be read on my birth certificate. Prior to finding this out I already already reached out to our state senator Marco Rubio for help. While this was going on I received a letter from the passport processing then telling me this issue. But before I even sent back the letter with correcting the issue, our senator had it taken care of. My passport status changed to shipped and overnighted free of charge. Also got a letter from the senator office thank me for reaching out to help me. Plus I got the new passport where my wife and son got the old.
My wife and sons birth certificates were returned about a month ago and mine was returned 2 weeks ago. The birth certificates or documentation will always be after the passport.
So if I were you I would reach out to your governor or senator and also apply for another copy of birth certificate in case.
VitalChek is the quickest and easiest way to get a copy of birth certificate. Most states refer you to this certified process and company. Where we got our extra ones before we applied for the passports.

Yes, it's true you can't send copies (as in copied on a copy machine) for certain things, but you can and should have more than one official copy (as in contains a raised seal or other mark) of important things. There's no limit on how many such copies you can have.

We are trying to decide if the specialty coffees at the CP are worth buying a package to have them (either the Refreshment Pkg or the Cafe Select coffee card). Recent reviews in some of my Navigator of the Seas facebook groups have given the CP coffee not so great reviews so I’m asking here to ask you lovely people to chime in! Our other option is to just pay at Starbucks for their drinks which are at least predictable, lol.
Are the specialty coffee drink choices at the CP as good as the coffee we could get at Starbucks on Navigator of the Seas? Please give me your brutal honesty. My partner was recently diagnosed with some blood sugar issues so having one coffee a day will be his only daily sweet indulgence so I want to make sure it’ll be great!
