  1. Just adding that I got this same email, and we have 4 booked in the room, so the above comment may make sense given they are specifically calling out the size of the sofa bed.

I think the point about them wanting to try to and resell these for alot more than what they originally were charging is completely believable as well.  Paid 7800 back in March for the room, including prepaid gratuities.  Same rooms on sailings for 2025/2026 are going for 10k, sailings for 2024 15k+, insanity.

I'm booked for October 2024 and my kids will be 11 and 8 during the cruise, so it'll be a bit a tight fit on the sofa bed, but they'll live.  They'll be so tired after playing on the ship all day it won't matter.

Just upgraded to a JS. Set sail pass updated to include room number but does not include the words suite, priority, or sea class anywhere?

same thing with mine as originally posted, sailing next week and hasn't changed.  Although as many others posted, it does show if you add to apple wallet.  verified that on ours as well, so at least we should be good to board with the rest of the suites.  however i'm still confused with what is documented on the RC site, information definitely is conflicting.  And out of curiosity i've tried doing mock bookings on RC website with any oasis or quantum class ship, and booking a JS does not list priority boarding as a perk, when i know it did when we booked ours last year.  i'll report back after our 3/25 cruise if i had luck in the suite line at Fort Lauderdale port

I imagine so, though I could also see their exec team brainstorming ways to turn this into a win for them. Without knowing Royal's costs, and with the number of customers who canceled their internet packages because "OMG! This deal!" one option for Royal is emailing out a mea culpa about this mistake, and give people the option of either receiving a refund or receiving a two device internet package and a bottle of bubbly to their stateroom on embarkation day. It'd still cost Royal money, but I also wouldn't be shocked to learn that Royal would still make a slight profit on the people who accept the alternative offer instead of a refund.

i'm all for this.  while the ship tour and captain lunch would be cool, the main reason i bought was because it was cheaper than 1 device voom.  Keep my 90 bucks and give me 2 device internet.  Heck i can even do without the champagne ( although my wife may disagree )...

Keep in mind RCCL has 2 types of internet packages. KEY has Voom this Premier has internet package.  Below explains the differences...just wanted to share in case people thought everything was Surf + Stream....it is not the same

What is the difference between internet packages on Royal Caribbean?

VOOM offers two different levels of service — a cheaper “Surf” package made for general browsing and checking email, and a more expensive “Surf + Stream” that offers the ability to video chat, as well as stream movies and music.

there are alot of posts that seem to indicate otherwise.  As ships are moving to Starlink internet, they are only offering surf+stream, since the speeds are better with the new provider.  I would guess this is probably some outdated wording on RC website that just hasn't been updated ( or will be once the entire fleet is updated to starlink satellite )

  5. Posting her what I discovered on another forum.  There is a new package that looks to have just appeared in cruise planner overnight, Premier Pass Package.  If you're booking online, it's on the top menu called "packages".  From what i've read seems hit or miss, some people have available, some don't, but the benefits seem too good to be true.

Price is 88.99 per package. I've called Royal myself to confirm that 1 package covers the 2 guests for the activities listed and have booked one for upcoming 3/25 sailling.  We see if it holds up, cause it's a steal of a deal.

I paid 127 just for voom 6 months ago, so i save 40 dollars just cancelling that and buying this package, plus all the other benefits.

    What's Included

    • Welcome bottle of Veuve Clicquot
    • Priority embarkation and debarkation
    • Inside Access tour (two guests)
    • Officer's lunch (two guests)
    • Unlimited internet access (two devices)
    • Captain's toast and photo
    • Wine pairing with sommelier (two guests) - wine is complimentary
    • Laundry service (one bag per stateroom)

YMMV on the availability, just sharing for those that probably would never have noticed if not trolling cruise forums daily up until our departure 🙂

I've travelled JS a few times in the last few months... EVERY digital pass always has SUITE written on it, as does my new one for my cruise in 2 weeks time.

On arrival there is a clearly signed entrance for SUITES and The Key.. and this is a priority boarding area.

Flash the digital pass to the entry staff, they see it says SUITE and they wave you thru.

i guess if mine never shows up i'll just do what another poster did and bring a copy of the invoice that shows the room i'm in is a JS.  clearly some IT issue going on.  seen this posted several times on other boards, so definitely not just a one off.

Royal is not know for technical aptitude.  The follies of Royal IT could fill a coffee table book.  Yet whenever another technical glitch comes along so many rush to draw conclusions.

yeah i've read about those as well.  it would seem too coincidental though that some parts of the website have also updated to show that JS no longer get priority boarding.  i just won't worry about it anymore, we have 11am boarding as it is which was the earliest available.  time to go read more posts about chair hogs...

I’m on Odyssey right now. When I boarded my pass showed “Sea” for my JS. I went straight for the suite line an hour before my scheduled board time and has zero issues.

i'm assuming it will update sometime between now and our trip on 3/25.  right now it doesn't say sea anywhere on either digital or printed pass.

Your pass should show "Sea Class" you are not going to see the word "suite" on your set sail pass.

When you get to the pier just go to the entrance for suite guess show them your set sail pass and they will let you through.

i've seen numerous other posts saying the setsail pass said suite on it, but mine doesn't show Sea Class either

  9. anyone boarded odyssey or another oasis/quantum class recently can confirm if JS still gets priority boarding?  I noticed on my 3/25 sailing this month that seapass doesn't have suite listed anywhere on it, where it normally would for JS and above.

    Royal's website has conflicting information.

These links says priority boarding is included: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-the-suites-programhttps://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-rooms/royal-suite-class

    this link says it's not:https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-royal-suite-class

  10. Does anyone know specific time details of when the ferry leaves the island to return back to the port for this?   Taking the southern caribbean cruise in March, cruise planner says it starts at 10am and duration is 6 hours, which would imply it ends at 4.  I read on one of the blog reviews here that boats starting leaving the island around 345pm which lines up with that timing.  Trying to see if we could plan to do this with our kids and make it back to do a 5pm sunset catamaran cruise excursion.  How long is the ferry ride from the island back to port?

We were booked in a GTY Junior Suite for our December '22 cruise, and we RoyalUpped to a Crown Loft and won it. Was once of the best cruises we've had.

@PhilandSteff if don't mind asking did you pay alot more than minimal price for the crown loft bid?  also there is no crown loft of Odyssey but looking at room layout that seems comparable to grand loft or owner's loft, although those are both star class and crown loft is only sky class.   Glad your royalup worked out though! fingers crossed i stumble into a deal as well.

  12. Booked on the 3/25/2023 Odyssey 8 day South Caribbean, just got email yesterday for Royal Up ( currently booked in a Junior Suite ) and upgrade offers were for every room Starting at GS 1BD all the way to Royal Loft.

Taking a chance and bidding slightly above minimum on everything from Owners Suite all the way to Royal loft ( which starts at 950pp, but would be a steal if I actually won 🙂 ).  Will see what happens.  Would love get the star class amenities.  My kids would think the royal genie was the best thing ever.

  13. When i was on Oasis in March, I purchased one device surf+stream, and was able to hotspot (using galaxy note 10+) it to multiple devices ( 2 kindle fires and my wife's iphone ), and the speed didn't seem to be impacted.  Kids could watch youtube and my wife could netflix without issue.  Obviously there were times when it was slow and unusable, but expected when you're in the middle of the ocean.

  14. got an email today this excursion was cancelled and will be refunded.  This is for March 20th sailing on Oasis.  When looking at the cruise planner though there are still excursions for this same location, although it's more expensive ( since it includes the buffet meal ).  Anyone have any ideas what may have caused them to cancel?  the website for playa maya does indicate there is some maintenance going on that ends on march 6th, but couldn't find anything else.
