  1. Q class was built with the canal expansion in mind. Voyager and Freedom class where built with thought that they would never leave the Caribbean. https://globalnews.ca/news/3764843/cruise-ships-lions-gate-bridge/
  2. I'm thinking it's going to be a ship from Australia or Asia. Any freedom class or Voyager class from east coast would have to go around South America.
  3. According to this article both Celebrity and RCI are returning. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/sinaloa-looks-for-more-airline-connections-for-3-airports/
  4. Translation is pretty dang close. The author probably does not know the difference between RCCL and RCI. Now will RCCL return with weekly calls or a repositioning cruise remains to be seen. Basically it's another small step forward towards the west coast. Based on RCCL past comments only new builds will get shore power capabilities which you need to homeport a ship in California and I don't know of any RCI's recent new builds that have it and its to costly to retrofit a existing ship. So based on this info i would say its Celebrity Apex.
  5. Well lets look at the bright side look at all those RR points your going to be earning.
  6. What sister line ship of RCI holds over 4000 passengers? https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=es&u=https://tvpacifico.mx/noticias/230179-anuncia-royal-caribbean-su-regreso-a-mazatlan-en-el-2021&prev=search
  7. This might be the ship to call in Catalina http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/331788/celebrity-apex-to-use-shore-power-electricity
  8. That will be the Regal Princess. Looks like Princess will have 2 Royal class ships on the west coast.
  9. Those are current at Double occupancy, 4000 would be all berths which would compete with the current ships in Los Angeles. The way the article is written it appears the ship can carry more passengers than 3000.but they are basing that number of typical Wednesday demand. It would be a 3 day 4 day rotation July-September but come October i would think she would start back on the Mexican Rivera and this typical from the ships that come down from Alaska.
  10. http://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/content/uploads/2018-2019-Fleet_Guide.pdf I think SOLAS would include the crew onboard.
  11. Moving larger ships over here and NCL has comeback. Carnival is bring a new ship in December 2019. 3000 passengers would be a Voyager class.
  12. Serenade is also showing up in Monterey California as Celebrity Serenade, if you click on the ship name it takes you to Royals website Serenade of the seas. https://monterey.org/Services/Harbor-and-Marina/Cruise-Ship-Tall-Ship-Visits Almost a carbon copy of what the Jewel did back in 2015 https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/12/13/royal-caribbean-returning-los-angeles-2015
  13. looks like Serenade will be in Alaska https://www.portofastoria.com/Cruise_Schedules.aspx
  14. Mostly likely the issue here is the Future cruise credit. once you redeem them thats it. non transferable or refundable. Best bet would probably be the resolution desk if they still have it.
  15. I think what DocLC is saying Carnival asking guest not to end their cruise in New Orleans.
  16. I don't like the new Next cruise program either. Just recently on the Explorer the Next Cruise team was giving away 6 free bingo cards if you booked a cruise, They had a desk setup in the RP half the time it looked busy the other half empty.
  17. Not abandoned, more like forced out by environmental laws. The cost was to high to retrofit the ships. Carb's current law bans them from homeporting a ship in California. yep, it sucks not having a ship 45 minutes away from home!
  18. The sooner the better that way you are not disappointed it they are sold out. Ive stayed at the Hyatt before in downtown. Only 5 minutes to the port.
  19. They were still giving them on my recent cruise. lucky!
  20. totally agree! one other thing people don't think about is the countries you are visiting may require them and ask for them.
  21. Thanks for post. I will be cruising on Explorer in 10 days, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for better weather. This will be my second cruise in Alaska i went with virtual balcony because last time I did not spend too much time on my balcony do to the cold weather.
  22. Q4 will go to Asia https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/04/26/royal-caribbean-announces-quantum-ultra-class-ship-and-plans-send-it-asia-pacific-region
