My QR scanner works as well, Android device. The last numbers displayed after the dash correlates with your cabin number.
Interesting - when I am able to check in I am going to have to check this out - thank you so much!!!

Basically if you scan the SetSail barcode with a barcode scanner if a number is assigned it will show.
Can you just get a barcode scanner on your iphone or some other device?

Our Oasis cruise next weekend was a Guarantee Junior Suite. Did not receive the room assignment until 14 days before embarkation date. Used the Apple Wallet trick and figured out my room assignment about a week before that.
Not sure about RoyalUP, they may wait to notify you last minute.
What’s the Apple wallet trick?

Thats good to hear that it is moving smoothly - If I may ask John - how did you know they opened up an earlier time slot to check in?
And by same check in link you mean the one you click on via the website under your booking number or on the app? You were not mailed a separate link correct?

For context, we sailed out of Cape Liberty/Bayonne last week. When we first completed the check-in process online, we selected the earliest time period (12:00-12:30) available at that time. A couple of weeks later, they opened up the 11:30-12:00 period and we switched to the earlier time slot (through the same check-in link).
Our check-in time was called at 11:30 and we were onboard by 11:45... very smooth in Bayonne last week!

Did my online check-in For this Halloween last week, and they offered 4 time slots earliest was 3-3;30 to show up for the Wellness check.
I am a little confused by this - people keep saying that 330 is the earliest - What happened to the 12pm so people can actually eat a lunch and enjoy Day 1 on the boat - checking in at 330 and going thru your wellness screening gets you on board closer to 4 and most boats depart at 4 or 6pm? Getting on that late takes away from enjoying the pool and signing up for fitness classes etc. The MDR is closed by 330 in order to get ready for dinner. And what if you have an early seating in the main dining room for dinner.

How difficult or easy have people found it to get an early check-in time when check-in opens at 45 days? And what is the closest someone has had towards cruise day to get your room assignment on a GTY. Especially if you want to partake in the Royal Up program.
Thanks

You're getting the drinks package and the dining package confused. The drink package would, in fact, work in the MDR, as far as I'm aware. The upcharge items he's talking about are the "upgraded" filet and lobster available nightly for an extra cost.
Opps my bad - thanks for the clarification

Since the UDP was announced a couple years ago as Ultimate and later renamed Unlimited there have been minor issues with restaurants included. The core restaurants are always good, it usually the places like Johnny Rockets or the Bamboo Room that have been inconsistent.
It became a lot better when they renamed the program and started to name the venues where it worked. In the beginning Hibachi was often not allowed but then they settled on the small upcharge and it was universally included.
Playmakers has been pretty good about accepting it since it was introduced after much of the time when there was more ambiguity. The list you displayed wasn't there originally.
To avoid reservation issues have a general understanding what you want written down in advance. On boarding day head straight to the dining tables they set up or a restaurant and make your reservations for the whole week. You can change them as the cruise evolves but staking your claim early is the best way to avoid reservation issues.
Lunch is on sea days only with the exception of boarding day. Not all venues open for lunch. Look over past cruise compasses to look at the open hours at each venue. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass
It's a lot of food. The lunches are for the most part the same menu as dinner with the same size portions so it's like having dinner in the middle of the day. I was so full from lunch I started moving all my dinner reservations to the last time slot so I might be a little hungry.
If your ship has Playmakers that is probably the best burger experience on board, at least for my tastes. Their wings are good too and if you like it hot, they can make wings very hot (spicy).
Not all Izumi have hot rocks and if the ship has Hibachi then the Izumi probably won't have hot rocks. I'm not a big sushi fan so I generally avoid Izumi unless it has hot rocks and the person I am sailing with is a sushi person.
When you have the UDP there can be a tendency to avoid the MDR so you can get maximum value of the UDP but I'd suggest keeping the MDR in the back of your mind if you really like a certain MDR entree. The UDP doesn't work there for the upcharge MDR menu items, but don't forget about the MDR for a break from all that food.
So I want to be able to understand what you are saying. In the main dining room the UDP does not work there. You cant order a glass of wine or a cocktail and have the UDP cover it. I know it only covers drinks up to $13 - but does that exclude the main dining room? I am a little confused sorry if I sound naïve this is the first time on RCL and the first time I have an UDP on any cruise line. Thanks!

I tried another date for a longer cruise. It took the code but doesn't do anything.
Maybe my state of residency isn't compatible. When I do a mock booking with and without the code for Enchantment on April 22, 2022 it accepts the code but doesn't change the price. I'm going right to the end where it wants my credit card number for deposit. Didn't enter C&A number in either case, used fake names.
$1,185.44 for an OV GTY for two guests from Florida with or without the code.
Oh I didnt think about the state of residency - perhaps you or I already get a certain discount because of the state we live in . NY here.
-
Does not look like it will work according to customer service (for what that is worth) Although on Facebook I am speaking with someone who just had it applied to 2 existing cruises.
-
I just used it on a mock booking for April 2, 2022 and it worked.

I have used that code on my next two cruises (November 26th and December 26th). It's a $50.00 discount code that will be reflected at checkout.
Were they already booked or new bookings?

I guess the plot thickens, as we all check our cruise planners on a daily basis?

I am also very interested to hear about this news - I am also on the December 4 cruise. Do we think it is because Jewel is a smaller ship perhaps? I dont really understand the logic behind all of this because certain sailings in December after our Dec 4 cruise have cancelled Labadee

Last night in a facebook chat someone posted that they received a new promo code "WELCOME" I called and asked if it could be used on the b2b in December and was told that it had to be used for future bookings. But another traveler said they had luck and were able to get the promo code on 2 existing cruises. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Interesting. I just ask because after getting COVID in early 2020. I’m on two inhalers and gave difficulty breathing sometime. But want to continue my weight loss journey I’ve been in this year. And I know because spinning is very high intensity that wouldn’t be able to do it without a mask. I’d pass out and fall off the bike. Lol. @PG Cruiser @MuttMutt. @FionaMG @Jverge @CrznTxn Thanks for your answers and feedback,

@melmar02 Yes that is what I was thinking. But the other two stops on this trip I have been too. Key west and Cozumel. So just bummed if it would all three I’m staying in for.

I have read on rcl website that masks are not required in fitness classes because the mask is liable to get wet? But customer service says you have to wear a mask during fitness classes but she also said things change. So whom do I believe the website or the rcl rep? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Are masks required to be worn during fitness classes?

I would love to hear who’s cruises are being cancelled to grand cayman in November and December 2021 for grand cayman. I only want to know because as a gay man depending on where the change the destination to. I have real concerns about what countries those get changed to because some of those countries being gay is punishable by law and gay people are sometimes kidnapped, stones, raped or even killed.
