I don’t think it will have L.N.G. ,it’s just a temporary thing to get emissions down by 25% . Synthetic ethanol is being pushed by the main marine engine manufacturers like wartsila and MAN. Plus they can convert existing ships. And being a smaller ship you would think they could make it quicker ?

I found a good video on carbon emissions . Discovery will have to be a new generation of ship that can run on multiple fuels,probably Diesel and synthetic ethanol.

They were processed in Sydney,I don’t know about the current situation as I have a heap of U.S cash and just pay the bill onboard. There is an option at check in to have it processed in the U.S. buy a third party though.

You should give it a go , I have never found it a hook up just people to talk to . It’s always different,the lunch just meet at a place outside the MDR and someone takes the group in. The happy hour is pretty unorganised,just take a seat at the bar and take it from there. If you don’t like it just leave.

We only have 2 Quantum’s in Australia and I think those kind cruises are a thing of the past. The incoming carbon emission laws would make it unlikely .

I was in Texas for thanksgiving and the subject come up . You Australians don’t tip ,such cheap Charlie’s. And I went through it and why . How many fingers have you got , I have 11 . LOL. I believe Royal and our state Gov was assessing a terminal at Kembla before COVID. I think we should get a plan for something in the new year. Brisbane is supposed to be Oasis capable but it’s can’t fill Quantam . OPT is supposed to be Oasis capable but I doubt the terminal could process 6,000 people. We are just a hillbilly backwater,nobody cares about us . LOL Theres strong possibility port Kembla may get a terminal. Don’t know how big a ship can get into Kembla but the Wharf looks like it will take a Oasis class. Plus Andrew Forest is currently building a L.N.G. Facility there .

I have a hunch that a Quantum might go to Ravenna and it’s probably Ovation. Royal is building a new terminal there and I think they will increase capacity with a larger ship with a extended season. And Voyager whose home port is Ravenna is supposed to be coming here.

It looks like voyager might be doing a relocation the end of October/november. You could extend it with the Suez Canal and fly back from Dubai .

Don’t get me wrong,it’s a great ship in a nostalgic way . I would be on it in a second and it was great value.

I was on it after the amp that you mentioned and what a botch they did. I think they did the important legal stuff and run out of money. Half the seats were recovered,some carpet was replaced but there was lots of ugly stuff. The suite lounge was only half painted and there was still masking tape hanging off the ceiling for months. They supposed to put in a couple of new bars,like lime and coconut,playmaker but didn’t. All that happened was a heap of new cabins where the solarium was and a water slide. I believe they had another go at it in Europe recently but I don’t know about that.

Voyager is a bit of a old wreck but it has class. The first mega ship and I love the venation glass in the theatre.

Celebrity Edge in Sydney this morning.

I don’t know of any other destinations they could have. If they had a smaller ship here over winter P.N.G and the Solomon Islands would be a change.Cairns as a home port over winter would be nice. But I think we will see Royal downsizing and consolidating back to the U.S until they work out how to reduce Carbon emissions. There’s now talk of ramping up the reduction time to 2035 instead of 2050. Another thing to bring into the equation is airline emissions ,they are being hit with the same carbon laws . It’s going to cost a lot more to come to Australia by air making it a less desirable destination. As for alternative fuels,port Kembla and Tauranga has L.N.G ?? I think our best option is the talk of synthetic Ethanol being made here. I believe it’s made from water with solar power,similar to hydrogen. The older ships could be converted to a Diesel / Ethanol fuel a bit like the E10 we put in our cars.

Royal Caribbean has disconnected there number in Sydney. That was 02 99375400 . There used to be switch board in north Sydney but all I can find is one mobile number. It seems to me they maybe down sizing in Australia. There’s a lot of competition.

If anyone knew him Ray Marchant died. He seemed to be on every second cruise out of Sydney. 96 I think he was .

I have 3 on Brilliance this season,I’m all quantumed out. First one is Wednesday to kangaroo island.

I would be getting in a cruise on Brilliance,it won’t be coming back. I would like to share a email but I’ve been told not too.
