  1. You can order complimentary from the main dining room menu or the regular room service menu when in sky class (as long as the MDR is open) but not coastal kitchen. You can order coastal kitchen breakfast as room service only in star class.
  2. So you could check in and get settled then go out and have dinner in Vancouver? Would the gangway be open?
  3. You don’t need reservations for breakfast and lunch, only for dinner
  4. My daughter (aged 6) only orders from the adult menu in all venues on RC and over many ships this has never been a problem for us. Hope she has fun!
  5. I wonder if you thought about getting refreshment packages instead of deluxe beverage packages? The sense I get from your post is that you might use more than 4 drinks outside of the lounge but not 4 alcoholic drinks outside of the lounge per day. If you have a refreshment package you can still use your diamond drinks for alcohol and have 4 of those each per day in addition to the coffee, water etc you get through the refreshment package and the drinks you have in the lounge. We recently were in your position but in an oasis class ship. My husband got a refreshment package and I didn’t get anything. He liked the flexibility of the package for coffee and water, fresh juices etc and between the lounge and the diamond drinks had plenty of alcohol.
  6. I asked my husband what he liked best at Jamie’s and he said “diet coke!” While funny I think this is unfair. We have eaten there a few times and enjoyed the truffle tagliatelle and lasagna
  7. I’m so confused by your post. Are you implying you think they should have sailed there while there is a war going on? I get you’re disappointed but it doesn’t seem like there is any reasonable alternative to what they are doing.
  8. I agree. Cash is best. I have heard that the genies do not get a portion of the automatic gratuity so be sure to tip well as they work super hard
  9. Wondering if anyone has good strategies for trying to stay healthy while cruising. I love cruising so much but often find it inevitable to come home 5 lbs heavier than when I arrived!
  10. That was my understanding too. Any cans or bottles are usually given to you opened.
  11. Totally up to your preference but I agree With the idea of not feeling obligated to buy anything to have a good day if you really wanted to buy something definitely choose one rather than both.
  12. I’m not sure where your six year old would sleep in a double occupancy room? If they are not listing the couch as an option for a pullout then it may not be suitable as a sleep surface, and I wonder if the room steward would agree to make it up for you. Has anyone tried this?
  13. There is a budget at port Canaveral with a shuttle as well. This is a challenging operation. Consistently understaffed. You can be in line for hours. We have used it many times and to do so would have my husband walk off the ship without luggage and pick up the car immediately when the location opens. The rest of us would take the luggage out at a more leisurely time and he would then come pick us up.
  14. You will have an amazing time! Your genie will help a lot to guide you and make it fabulous we stayed in this category with our six year old earlier this year. some of our favorite things were having room service with Starbucks in the mornings, having the Genie arrange food in the room for the aqua theatre shows, and getting the best seats for shows without having to wait in line. Have a wonderful trip!
  15. You’re right, that’s what the deck maps on the Ap say as well.
  16. The other nice thing about the soda package is the freestyle coke machines which give you tons of variety and are lots of fun
  17. If you’re staying in a suite then absolutely the suite lounge on deck 17 will have happy hour and appetizers served daily with lovely views. I believe cocktail hour starts at 5pm and goes until 8pm. if you are in sky or star class you can have breakfast in coastal kitchen if you wish
  18. For your Wi-Fi question keep in mind that you only need a 2 device Wi-Fi package if you want to be on two devices at once (ie on your laptop while your phone is also on Wi-Fi). If you’re ok with one device at a time then a single package would work for you
  19. Thanks so much for posting all this. Your pictures are fantastic! What an amazing trip!! Hope it continues to be amazing
  20. I love wine but can’t drink alcohol. Recently at home I started drinking dealcoholized wine. I know you can buy it in the cruise planner, but was wondering if anyone knows of any venues on board who would serve it? If you carry it should I assume the bottle limit is the same as regular wine? Thanks in advance for any info.
  21. I’m laughing so hard about your comment about the mattresses on Mariner! We also liked the ship but found the mattresses impossible!
  22. How difficult would it be to renew their passport. If it’s possible I would do it either way. In regard to your question itself I agree with the other posters that you should seek professional level advice. Good luck!
  23. I had thought that too but interestingly its still listed for new bookings for my Feb 2024 cruise
