  1. I'm on a November cruise to Grand Cayman as well. No change to itinerary yet for that port day.
  2. this is good to know. I was bringing 2 devices for my upcoming cruise, but only paying for 1. (thinking I would tether them together via hot spot).
  3. haha nope. I only have a gold card. For me paying several hundred dollars annual fee doesn't justify the small travel perks.
  4. thanks, yeah I have the app and I can see the menus for the specialty dining restaurants, but can't seem to find the MDR one. ** Edit -- NEVERMIND! I found it. LOL
  5. Anyone have a MDR menu? I'm sure each ship is different, but just to get an idea of items.
  6. I think you can also look at the Marine Traffic app and narrow it down to cruises, it might show you the itinerary...but i know it shows you a live location where your ship is. You know what would also be helpful is an app of your ship and a live GPS of where you are on the ship. so you can see where you're walking to.
  7. Are Saunas and Steam rooms closed due to covid now?
  8. you have to pay extra for messaging on the Royal app?
  9. The spa prices are silly even with the discounts.
  10. What are your tips and tricks for the Casinos on board...other than great social fun. Slot machines to avoid or try? Other fun machine games? (Scratch off, coin pusher, video poker, etc.) What perks or rewards can you get if you win? (free drinks, credits) Learn to play- is it worth it if you already have a basic knowledge of games? you get 2 free drinks so it might be just for that. Tables - minimums to join? (Craps, Roulette, Texas Hold'em, Blackjack) Anyone have any good stories?
  11. well i just saved $83 on my cruise because of a lower fare and discount being offered today. woohoo! 40 days to go!
  12. Other than COVID and unforeseen incidents or issues with the ship, what other things would cause a cancellation? Could they cancel the trip if they don't meet a certain minimum booking requirement as well?
  13. Questions about insurance: I usually pay for my flight's insurance when I book my flight, but what about the cruise insurance? I haven't paid fully for my cruise yet, so does that mean I still have time to get the insurance? Does RC offer insurance when you pay your final bill like the airlines or no, you have to get it separately? the only thing i'm worried about is getting covid before my trip, and that I would be reimbursed for. How often does something happen during a cruise?
  14. So I got an email that I can RoyalUp to either a Junior Suite, an OceanView-No Balcony 2 BR or a Spacious Balcony room from a regular balcony ocean view room. Other than the extra space I would be getting in the room, not seeing too much of a benefit to paying the extra money at this time. A Junior Suite, as nice as it is, only gets a few extras like a robe and nice toiletries. Oh and a coffee machine, which would be nice. But I wouldn't be eligible for any extra points. This is my first Royal cruise, so I think starting off with a balcony was nice as it is. And maybe another time, if they offer double points again, i'll go for the Junior then. Do I bid or not bother?
  15. I actually had a lot of good discounts applied when I first booked the cruise, so today's price is still slightly more. So winning!
  16. Bam! Just like that I received the invoice from my twitter request. So if the base cruise fare/room price is higher than a new offer, I can request OBC or an adjustment before I fully pay or do you mean if the total price is better today?
  17. Yes I sent a message on Twitter as well. Thanks!
  18. I forgot to print/download my receipt from my first booking. So I forget what price I paid for the room and what all the discounts were at the time. It does not seem to be reflected on the app or online when I look at my account. Why can't I see an accounting of what I have booked, other than the lump sum due? I have not paid the balance yet, so does that have anything to do with it? I have emailed RC to see if they can send me a snapshot of what I booked, so maybe I can then keep track of whether the cost goes down or not.
  19. the earliest I could do the check in was 11:30am for my cruise. no time slots earlier than that.
  20. i thought that the day you cruise is not part of the within 2 days window. So if you take the test on 10/1 and cruise on 10/3- should be valid.
  21. Tell me your stories: If you spent a day doing a tour or excursion or you were walking around on your own and for whatever reason you missed the departure time for the cruise or very very late to the boat, what were the circumstances surrounding that?
