  1. EXACTLY! I am not boosted and have no intention to do so at this time. Again, if these data are correct https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/pharmacy/states-ranked-by-booster-rates.html and only 42.5% of those that qualify to get Boosters have done so, won't they be loosing some customers?
  2. This is the line that leaves the window open to more changes/restrictions and more possible expense to cruise lines: "CDC will update this information as needed and notify cruise ship operators of such updates."
  3. The CDC has basically changed the definition of what cruise lines currently consider to be "vaccinated". Passengers will need to be "Up-to-Date" with their vaccines, which means Boosters+++ as the CDC determines. This is where the masking changes occur. Mask Use At this time, all persons, including port personnel, crew, and passengers are advised that CDC’s Mask Order remains in effect and requires the wearing of well-fitting masks on conveyances entering, traveling within, or leaving the United States, and in U.S. transportation hubs. (see Maritime-specific Frequently Asked Questions). While the Order permits temporarily removing a mask for brief periods of time while eating or drinking, removal of the mask for extended meal service or beverage consumption would constitute a violation of this Order. Cruise ship operators, at their discretion, may advise all passengers and crew that they do not have to wear a well-fitting mask if outdoors. CDC still recommends that people wear a mask if they are not up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines and in crowded outdoor areas. Masks do not have to be worn while inside one’s own cabin. Travelers should not wear a mask when doing activities that may get the mask wet, like swimming at the beach or in recreational water facilities. A wet mask can make it difficult to breathe and may not work as well when wet. This means it is particularly important for bathers who are not fully vaccinated to maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet (2 meters) when in the water with others who are not traveling companions or part of the same family.
  4. From the text: 6] Up to date with COVID-19 vaccines means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. For more information: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html.
  5. I am not too sure about that. From text: Cruise lines choosing to opt into this program will be required to follow all recommendations and guidance as a condition of their participation in the program (i.e., they will not be able to pick and choose which recommendations they follow). Those opting in will continue to receive a color status for cruise ships operating in U.S. waters on CDC’s Cruise Ship Color Status webpage. For cruise ship operators opting into CDC’s COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships, CDC will continue to exercise enforcement discretion regarding the requirements of its January 29, 2021, Mask Order, applicable to operators of, and crew and passengers on board, cruise ships.
  6. I saw those items too. Many will choose NOT to sail with those protocols in place. Again, it will be interesting to see what the lines decide to do. As of today only 42.5% of those eligible to receive boosters have received them. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/pharmacy/states-ranked-by-booster-rates.html
  7. CDC came out with new opt-in regulations for cruise ships. It seems to me that opting in will be costly for cruise lines. Cruise lines that opt in MUST follow ALL of the guidelines. They cannot pick and choose. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/management/technical-instructions-for-cruise-ships.html
  8. If anyone would have gotten a survey, I am sure it would have been you!
  9. Recent data show that less than half (41.8%) of vaccinated people have received their boosters. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/pharmacy/states-ranked-by-booster-rates.html. Requiring boosters at this point may not be a good business decision for some cruise lines. Princess sent out a survey asking about boosters a few weeks ago. Has Royal done the same yet?
  10. It will depend upon when you are sailing. The weather is too cool for pools in the winter.
  11. This is what the tent looks like. It is in between the 2 terminals.
  12. In October/November 2021 there was a tent set up where you could get the PCR test. My husband needed it to fly later that day into Canada. It took about 30 minutes. This was when we sailed on Princess though. I am not sure what is currently there.
  13. Yeh we are 20-25 min. from the port and 20 min. to LAX. Total is about 45 min LAX to the Port if little to no traffic.
  14. That depends on what you want to do as stated above. If you are staying a few days prior and want to beach it, then there are three great and safe beach cities in between LAX and San Pedro: Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach, where I live. There are nice big beaches, lots of bars and restaurants in Hermosa and Manhattan. There are several hotels right on the Strand (a paved boardwalk on the beach for bikers and pedestrians). It takes about 20/25 min (without traffic) to get to the port from Hermosa.
  15. And due to shipping lanes, my guess is that they will sail beyond 12+ miles to avoid the shipping lanes and to allow passengers to gamble and shop. I have T-Mobile and you will have an OK signal in the LA port, and good signal on Catalina and in Ensenada (if you have that plan). If you need a good signal at night you may want the plan.
  16. We LOVED the limited capacity on the AOS this summer. Also, during our sailing vaccinated guests did not have to wear a mask in most places. The staff were so attentive and fun! Also, we loved how empty Coco Cay was. One ship in port with only 1100 paxs. A cruising dream!
  17. Done a B2B. I wasn’t sure about how cruising during covid would be but it was awesome!
  18. I also wonder if the CDC will extend the order beyond Nov 1. If so, would the Navigator and other ships schedule test cruises too?
  19. Some people on CC have gotten the email too.
  20. Anyone get this email yet? Some folks on CC have. Nothing yet for me but I’m only Platinum not Pinnacle. ?
  21. That would be my guess. The staff are wonderful. I highly doubt they will kick you out for having a few teens - who have Beach Club passes - stop by once-and-a-while. If they are over 18 I can guarantee that they will prefer the Oasis Pool like mine did! It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the cabana (depending upon where your cabana is located). If you get Cabana #1 they should be able to swim to the Chill Island Swim-up Bar or beach, then walk across the street to the Oasis Pool. You can't tell from the map, but the Swim-up Bar is really close to Cabana #1. In the second photo the closest cabana is #1. I took this photo from the Swim-up Bar. You can see how close the Chill Island Beach is to that cabana. Have Fun! You will LOVE the Floating Cabana!
  22. No. It is the same place where you check in for the Beach Club. You tell them you have a cabana and they check the list, mark you off, take additional names of your group if they are not with you, and walk you to your Cabana.
  23. I wouldn't sweat it. The rules state the following: "LIMIT TWELVE (12) ENTRIES PER PERSON, REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY. ADDITIONAL ENTRIES MAY BE DISQUALIFIED." https://www.royalcaribbean.com/terms-and-conditions/volunteers-of-the-seas My assumption is that they will only count the correct number of entries per person anyway.
