  1. My random musings can't be any worse than what often passes for "journalism" these days.
  2. 13 - for when you get charged an adult fare 16 - for the Solarium 18 - to be considered a legal adult 21 - to be the youngest person on a reservation and to drink (at least on North American cruises)
  3. I'd venture a guess most passengers have no idea what class of ship they're sailing on
  4. We were on goport in march and the bus left before it got full
  5. Oasis will still be expensive and definitely still full of kids.
  6. I don't know where you'd put solar panels (and enough to make it worth the effort) on a cruise ship without either taking up valuable real estate for paying guests or make it look like an eye sore. Even the proposed electric ship that's supposed to debut in 2030 is relying on retractable solar "sails"
  7. I agree. It's terrible, stay away, I want to book it without taking out a 2nd mortgage
  8. Rome has been a pickpocket haven for decades.
  9. Kids Sail Free applies to new bookings made between July 1 – 31, 2023 (“Offer Period”) on sailings departing between August 1, 2023 – April 30, 2025 (“Offer Cruise”), providing free cruise fare for third guests and higher who are 12 years old and younger as of Offer Cruise departure date on sailings 3 nights or longer booked in the same stateroom as the first two qualifying guests in a triple or quad occupancy stateroom. Kids Sail Free excludes Thanksgiving Sailings departing between November 17, 2023 – November 24, 2023; November 22, 2024 – November 29, 2024, Holiday sailings departing between December 16, 2023 – January 5, 2024; December 20, 2024 – January 3, 2025, Spring break sailings departing March 8, 2024 – March 22, 2024; March 7, 2025 – March 28, 2025, Holy Week/Easter sailings departing March 22, 2024 – April 4, 2024; April 12, 2025 – April 24, 2025, Radiance Alaska Cruise Tour sailings departing May 19, 2023 – September 15, 2023 and Summer Sailings departing May 24, 2023 – September 1, 2023; May 22, 2024 – August 30, 2024. Taxes, fees, and port expenses are additional and apply to all guests.
  10. A new version of the app came out yesterday. When I launched it after the update, it wanted me to agree to a new Terms of Service. OK fine. Problem is clicking "Accept" didn't do anything. It just reloaded the TOS again. I got around it by clicking decline, logging in again, and proceeding like normal (without it asking me to agree to the TOS again). Just in case anyone else hits the same thing. Edit: this may be an Android-only issue
  11. I'm glad I got to see the beach club at $79 to know it's not worth paying much more than that for it.
  12. I haven't even seen the show since they restarted it. 10:30 is past my bedtime.
  13. Even with Starlink, there are so many things that can affect your connection performance at sea that you'll have as many good experience reports as bad.
  14. Allianz offers $11 per day rental car coverage now
  15. "And Koopman testified that Royal Caribbean knew about the risk of children falling through open windows and adults holding children in front of open windows" Problem here isn't a kid that fell out of a window. It's a man who dropped a girl out of a window.
  16. Social media comments from people who have never set foot on a cruise ship
  17. That's why we have insane warning labels on random benign stuff
  18. Based purely on the law, I can see the judge's logic. But based on common sense...c'mon
