At-home covid tests now covered by insurance
smokeybandit replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
The out of network $12 only applies if your provider offers them in network to begin with. Still lots of TBDs on how providers will navigate the ruling. -
Yep, definitely taxi. Fixed rate.

Freedom at 30% capacity 1/10

low season plus omicron will make for some wonderfully empty cruises -
I guess I'm just thinking that job postings don't necessarily predict a timeline for reopening.

The Ag Card tests are OTC. You do not need to use a proctor to take the test. Just you can't use the results as anything other than peace of mind if you don't use the proctor. -
Just because they're hiring for a position doesn't mean they don't have someone(s) already covering that position in the interim. There was another Labadee job posted in the dining dept on Jan 4, as well
-
Well it's a good sign one way or another. That'd have to be a good paying job to be essentially marooned at Labadee though.

Cancellations have started :(

Yep, cruise ships are in the same classification as nursing homes, so no expedited quarantine. The 10 days is for covid positive. Close contacts are 14!!! -
Stay away from PCR tests. Those are the ones that will give you a false positive 90 days after a true positive

Based on the ruling, it all depends on how your insurance company approaches it. Either submit for reimbursement or you buy them from your insurance company's preferred vendor. -
Of course this would just apply to Americans on the board. That'll help ease the cost burden a bit for cruising. https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2022/01/10/biden-harris-administration-requires-insurance-companies-group-health-plans-to-cover-cost-at-home-covid-19-tests-increasing-access-free-tests.html

Covid among passengers won't impact to your cruise. It's covid/close contacts among crew (and the lengthy quarantine required) that's causing issues. -
Covid testing protocols across cruise lines
smokeybandit replied to Fairlynew's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Mass testing mid-cruise is guaranteed to find a lot of cases among people who otherwise never would have known. -
Not if you just play the machines though right? That can go right to your on board account

Junior Suite vs Balcony Cabin, worth it?
smokeybandit replied to AlwaysRollin's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Like most A vs B questions about cruising, the answer is "it depends on your own preferences" Do you need the extra space? Extra points? Bigger bathroom? -
Anthem went back out today, so it must not have been a big issue
-
Looks like she stopped short of Miami and turned around. Maybe weather related? Looks like it's been quite windy
-
I read it to mean it's just getting into port late on the final day.
-
Agreed, the two device plan is your best bet. It's not worth the hassle and cost with onboard cellular (slow and expensive)

book with air2sea but want to arrive earlier
smokeybandit replied to Fred321's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Are you even able to use the new Air2Sea if your reservation is with a TA? You definitely can't on their website. -
book with air2sea but want to arrive earlier
smokeybandit replied to Fred321's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes, I've told them what flight I wanted before when they couldn't initially find it. -

Lifeguard has to be one of the most boring jobs on a cruise ship
