  1. I'm not a minister but I'll be on this sailing, my first Oasis-class cruise. Congratulations on your vow renewal!
  2. If you like craps then you may want to avoid the Radiance as she does not have a craps table. At least she did not as of February (2023) when I sailed on her.
  3. Yes, everyone gets extra points for suites, regardless of loyalty level. But there is the added benefit of half off single supplement, which starts at 340 points.
  4. I'd make the shows line up better with the dinner seatings, so the early dinner folks go to the second show and the late dinner folks go to the first show. Lots of times, the shows don't line up so the second seating people miss the show. And the MTD people sometimes miss both shows! And I'd bring back the Grand Marnier souffle. And I'd put a drink machine on the Liberty. And I'd swap out all the shower curtains on the Radiance with the clamshell shower doors.
  5. We're "conditionally loyal". We like to sail out of Galveston for the cost, and I don't think Carnival is a good fit for us. And we are diamond now so that is a benefit, too. As cost-conscious cruisers, we'll sail Royal unless something better comes along like Princess or even MSC.
  6. From Royal Caribbean Cruises Long Term Debt 2010-2023 | RCL | MacroTrends In the 2010s, the company carried between 5 and 9 billion in debt on the books. Now there is $20 billion. They've got to pay that off somehow. I don't think firing the weatherman will make much of a dent in it, but I guess every little bit helps.
  7. Normally I would think that I can just wear Mrs. Cake's clothes if my suitcase is lost but now that I think about it she can't wear my clothes, so I think mixing clothes between the suitcases is best.
  8. Based on what you have said, I think buying the Key is perfect for you. You'll get expedited embarkation and enjoy the lunch. You would normally buy Internet, so the additional cost for The Key is less. Key purchasers get exclusive (but limited) time on the FlowRider. Key purchasers have a nice section of reserved seats at the theater. You'll also enjoy the departure breakfast and being whisked off the ship, bypassing any lines. And, if your ports are tender ports and I think they are not but I'm not 100% sure, you'll get expedited tender service. Have fun!
  9. The value of the Key depends on several factors. Are you staying in a suite? Are you able-bodied? Are you arriving to the cruise terminal before lunch? Would you buy an Internet package if you were not buying The Key? Are there any ports on your sailing where they use tenders instead of docking? Do you plan on using the FlowRider (if applicable)? Are you going to attend the shows? For me, the value of the Key was in the expedited departure that only suite guests get, since Mrs. Cake has challenges. That benefit alone was worth the difference between the cost of Voom and the cost of the Key. That said, try to get The Key when it is on sale.
  10. I pack a longish HDMI cable to display my laptop on the TV.
  11. Grand Marnier souffles. If printed cruise compass goes away, I'll miss them.
  12. For a Pinnacle who is a light drinker and staying in an interior cabin, yes the split cruise is a better value. But if you add up all the value you get: Cruise fare, Gratuities, Laundry, DBP, Voom, Transportation, (EDIT) Several free excursions The world cruise comes out ahead. Plus, what W2 said.
  13. Cruise compass is one of the options on the touch screen map near the elevators, at least on some ships. EDIT: It looks like this, I found a free photo. Do you have a laptop? There is a link I got from Twangster: https://minio.rccl.com/compass/cruisecompass.pdf
  14. I did a mock for Allure in September. I'm currently signed up for My Time, but I would change to 7:30 for sure. I'm seriously considering this 7:45 time.
  15. Slacker. Start your cruise right. All three desserts!
  16. We tried The Key on our last cruise. We drive in the day of the cruise and therefore missed the embarkation lunch. It would *only* be worth it if you would normally buy an Internet package. The other benefits would have to add up to the difference in cost. For us, we took advantage of the exclusive seats at the shows, the special breakfast at departure, the special luggage section at departure, and the expedited departure. Mrs. Cake is somewhat physically challenged, so those benefits were worth the cost as we were whisked off the ship in a flash. If you do decide to book The Key, try to track any sales, because the price changes frequently.
  17. Maybe there won't be another one if they couldn't sell out this one.
  18. Matt's article on Royal opening up smaller segments of the world cruise: Royal Caribbean adds new shorter World Cruise segments to book | Royal Caribbean Blog There's only eight months until it sails, does Royal expect people to have not booked their cruise(s) already?
  19. Looking forward to this one, as it will be our first taste of the suite life! (Junior Suite, but still.....)
  20. Hmmmm. Maybe linking your reservations does something with the C&A status.
  21. Am I reading these articles correctly that all suites including Junior Suites get priority boarding but only the higher suites get priority departure?
