  1. Yup mine have been gone for last few days. Guess it’s an ongoing issue with the IT department.
  2. Hmm, glad I got mine when I did and at a cheap price…the Gifts and Gear section isn’t showing up on my planner now!
  3. A sweater for indoor air conditioning. A zip up hoodie sweatshirt for outside at night if windy and cool.
  4. Always in color…and we use the vinyl luggage tags purchased from Amazon.
  5. Wow that swirly building ( yes does resemble DNA ) is awesome! I can imagine what the inside offices or apartments look like!
  6. We stayed at the Holiday Inn suggested by @michaelp1446 in Nov 2021 before our Oasis cruise. It is very budget friendly and so close to Bayside as well as a few other places. I can’t rave about the accommodations (we were in the older part of the building) but it is doable if not staying for more than a night or two. There are a few hotels in the Brickell section of town that are a bit nicer and still only a 15-20 minute walk away from Bayside but more money too. Keeping costs low…Holiday Inn will suffice.
  7. Question about meal choice. Do they still have a separate Vegan menu or would the only choice on French Night be the butternut squash soup and the risotto dish? I am beginning to be very fearful of dining choices for our July cruise on Oasis. There are maybe 4 or 5 of my group of 17 with very strict eating restrictions and these new menus are scaring the heck out of me! I’ve been hyping up our family cruise and now the dining part (which is such a huge part of the cruise experience) is looking very bleak! UDP is not an option for this group so I am hopeful there will be a few more choices in the MDR?
  8. Right with you on the line etiquette. I’m the one who almost always opens my mouth if someone is trying to weasel their way in. Not on my watch!!! Sorry you aren’t fond of the frozen chocolate key lime…there are definitely a few things I won’t eat and everyone else thinks I am nuts! But that’s not one of them. Call me antisocial (which I am not) but I truly do not like it when someone I do not know begins a conversation with me. It’s happened on airplanes, in line at grocery store, outside the school while waiting for my grandkids. I just prefer being left alone. I am truly enjoying reading all your blogs.
  9. I love Key West and did the hop on/hop off trolley while there. Definitely a nice way to get around. Best part of Key West…the frozen chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick! Hope you have a great day.
  10. We’ve had TSA Precheck for years and would not fly any other way. All my kids and even the older grandkids now have this perk. Definitely has saved us a few times in recent years from perhaps a disastrous missing of plane! I have been considering upgrading to Global Entry so @FireFishII thanks for that website info!
  11. Just in case anyone is considering this cruise…the prices are lower today than any other time I have checked. Since I booked I have reduced my price 3 times…today is number 4! My 5 OV balcony rooms now total $5000 LESS than when I first booked! Very excited to save these dollars since we are treating our family…every penny saved helps!
  12. Would love to see some pictures of the ship. Thanks! And of course…your port stops! Enjoy and smooth sailing!
  13. Absolutely loved Mama Mia. I wish Oasis would get rid of Cats. We will be back on her in July with our kids and grandkids and would love for them to experience a Broadway show onboard BUT will not make them suffer through that one!
  14. We did Samba in September. I thought it was just ok. It was really dark in there and we had trouble seeing anything! It was also extremely humid which made the experience very uncomfortable for me as I hate humidity! I wouldn’t go again. Was it dark at the time you dined?
  15. This info is great…thanks! We are taking our kids, spouses, and grandkids on Oasis in July for a family cruise and have 4 other relatives coming along…so 17 all together. I am hoping to reserve 2 tables for our MDR seating. I will shoot an email out maybe in late May or early June to this email. We will see what happens.
  16. Can’t wait for the first person sailing and receiving one to come back to this post to let us know all about it!
  17. If you want an early time to board then do your checkin right after midnight on the date it becomes available. I do this all the time and have never gotten a time later than 11. Sure I lose a little sleep but I get the time I want to board the proper way… and I board by following the rules.
  18. Just a thought…what’s the purpose of having a specific check in time if passengers are just going to show up whenever they want to? This is meant especially for the ones who think showing up early is ok. It really is not okay. I have seen many comments about this quite frequently on this blog and it’s always kind of bugged me…so I just wanted to state my own opinion: Show up when you are supposed to. Period. Thank you.
  19. I feel Symphony is the cruise to choose. As @ChessE4 noted the larger vessels likely handle the rougher waters more easily and with this being a Transatlantic you just might sail into a few areas of active seas! Also more variety on a larger ship will help keep you less bored! Best of luck with your choice and enjoy your long awaited bucket list vacation! I hope when I hit 80 (13 years to go!) I am still able to pursue any left over Bucket List items!
  20. Perhaps someone who has purchased the cooler with water can report back with what was received?
  21. I just purchased a cooler with the water for each of my kids’ rooms (along with one for my room ) for our July family cruise. Figure they can use them anytime during the cruise…take to the pool…take to CocoCay…and they’ll have a souvenir of our long awaited special cruise! As my grandkids keep reminding me…it’s been a 3 year wait for this cruise to happen…are we really getting to do it this time? A little more than six months to go and I hope and pray nothing is going to stop us this time!
  22. Really enjoying your blog so far. Hope you have the best weather ever! Looking forward to reading all about your trip and especially about your brother’s excitement!
