I was able to save 6 dollars on one of our excursions. The others either were the same price or went up.

We are coming from a hotel near the FLL airport. Any concerns with traffic down to the port?

Oh I'm pretty sure it was people showing up early or late. We could see a lot of the baggage tags for the self-disembark and they was about a 5 number spread just near us. But to the OPs point, if they have the earliest time possible, it may be worth it to be early for just that reason with a 10am flight.

True, but what is theoretically supposed to happen and what actually happens are two completely different things. Our line on the Independence went up, around the middle elevators and back..no one was worried about protocols. Which is why when we went down at the appointed time it still took a long time to disembark.

10am? You must like gambling there fellow Buckeye! On our last cruise, they didn't give us any guidance to pick self-disembark. You may want to stop by Guest Services on the first day to confirm. My understanding was the time to self-disembark is "first come, first served" so make sure you do that early. Also, line up SUPER early. We lined up when we were supposed to and the line was HUGE. It goes fast once the doors opened, but the sooner the better. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The earlier you check in, the better chance you have of getting an early check in time (more time on the ship..hurray!). It can differ, but normally you select your time and go back and add items later, so you should be good to go for that.

That's unfortunate. I guess I just have to check every night to see if I can check in like a Luddite.

You could have paid for your next cruise!

I seek the knowledge of those more experienced! We have a cruise booked to the Western Caribbean over Christmas (it's our first Christmas cruise because I decided to be lazy for the holiday with the cooking). However, there are hardly any excursions listed. There is nothing for Costa Maya (stopping there 26 December) and only one for Cozumel (stopping there 29 December). Is this because of the holiday? Or maybe something else? Should I expect excursions to show up later? If this is all I can expect, will private companies be available during this time? We really want to see some ruins (one of the reasons we are going to the Western Caribbean). Thanks so much!

Is that just an Apple phone thing? I am not able to see when I can check in on my next cruise. If anyone is on the Jewel of the Seas 26 March - 3 April, can they tell me when check in will be?

Are there beach loungers at both locations? I love the beach, but tend to look like a cooked lobster if out in the sun too long!

We booked with Victor Bodden tours as a private, customizable tour and are including the rum and chocolate tour into our itinerary (I really just wanted to hug a sloth). We are going after you, so if you do go to the rum/chocolate tour, can you let me know how it was?

We are pretty sure we will get to dock at Labadee in March, barring any new issues. Looking at the map and some of the previous blog posts, I am curious which do you all like better out of Adrenaline Beach or Columbus Cove and why? We are looking for the following in no order: - Shade. It looks like only Adrenaline Beach may have the clamshell loungers - Quiet. Which is less crowded? It looks like there are activities near both - Swimming/snorkeling. This doesn't look like there is great snorkeling at either place, but is one better? We have our own gear. Any perspectives you have would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recommend using GoPort. They are very flexible and do offer 2 day hotel stay options. Everything is included (shuttle from airport, shuttle to PC, shuttle back to airport) for what I thought was a very reasonable price.

This would be PERFECT for us. I hope this continues with all sailings.

I promise I am pretty tech savvy, just older. Once I had an email account, I was too lazy to change all my accounts to a new one!

UPDATE: Apparently being old school with my AOL account is NOT conducive to getting an email from MEI. My travel agent, Sue had to resend the email she sent and I FINALLY got it this time. Crisis averted!

Has anyone used the online trip request form for MEI travel? I am looking for information on our next cruise, but I haven't heard back from them. I am wondering if the request isn't going through since I'm not even getting anything saying "your request has been received". Thank you!
