  1. That’s what I thought. The person on my sailing is spending a night in Vancouver than going on Princess to avoid Royal “due to the PSVA”. (Their words) I purposely avoided the ship that would have put me on the B2B Hawaii/Alaska due to what I’ve read here. Thank you! I thought I missed something! I’d have gotten in a , or auto to cross the border and come back to the US and into Vancouver again if needed!,
  2. Greetings Ive been reading the PSVA threads here and elsewhere and someone on my Hawaii cruise has put out a statement that has thrown me and now I need to know, am I good to go? Boarding Quantum in Hawaii-ending in Vancouver. Staying on land 4 days in Vancouver Boarding Radiance in Vancouver for a B2B -Vancouver to Seward then Seward to Vancouver-then heading home to the states. @twangster you seem well versed. Can you provide me why this is okay (if it is ) or, if it’s no good, is there a potential to fix this without dropping any of the cruises?
  3. I’m back next week, I’ll try to remember to get a pic.
  4. You would think’ I had a convo with the bar manager who said she was doing her best to scrounge and there were shortages. My words)….if she got something it was gone quickly. The next day I was in the casino before noon and looking for a Bloody Mary and they still only had Absolute-hard pass for me. it’s alright-I cut back on drinking-I’m sure my liver was happy. I believe I read somewhere each bar gets a budget for ordering? Don’t know if that’s true. Considering these things started to run out after Port Canaveral-where Anthem restocks-the running out made no sense.
  5. Just got off Anthem. Waitstaff in the casino-non smoking area was practically nonexistent. (Was able to get one drink all week-and yes I do tip) Additionally the bar ran out of Belvedere, grey goose, Tito’s-in that order and that started midweek. They also ran out of other things. Perhaps this is the new way to not give out “free” drinks.
  6. Thought about asking him to bless a few machines for me but didn’t ….
  7. So a bishop walks into the casino bar…. I am currently on Anthem, today we saw a Catholic Bishop walk into the casino bar (really! Not a joke!). Someone spoke with him and apparently he had held mass on embarkation day (Sunday) and no one (or few)showed up. There were no announcements-apparently announced religious events don’t happen. now in the past , on other ships, I’ve seen a social board where these types of things are listed I’ve never noticed this board on Anthem, nor are there announcements to go look for this social events board. the Bishop will be giving ashes on Ash Wednesday, I shared that info on the FB group for our sailing, otherwise I’ve no idea how anyone would know. so-when you board maybe ask guest services the cruise director or look for the social events board and see if it’s posted.
  8. Blue lagoon has been cancelled by Royal on February and March sailings. Not sure if it extends beyond that-I have no sailings to Nassau after that.
  9. Contact your TA and make them aware. Keep an eye on your credit card statement they’ll likely charge you to zero out the refund mistake. If they don’t you’ll have a balance due , outside of what you already owe for final payment
  10. Doesn’t show gratuities and insurance-that’s what he wants to see.
  11. Don’t know is this is true but…there is someone currently on Anthem who reported the commercials will be shown and there will be food. This allegedly came down a few days ago from Miami. I’m on the sailing too. I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials and my boxes. Hopefully there are commercials.
  12. I like to bring my hammock pool float. If you purchase one be sure it’s the kind you blow up with your mouth. I purchased one once that needed an air pump, took that right back! They fold nicely. one float can hold 2 people if you hang off each end.
  13. Most ships seem to offer some sort of dance lessons, free. Some go so far as to do flash mob dance classes over a period of days/ending in a flash mob, Check the daily calendar when you board.
  14. That’s a lot of balcony cabins available! I guess pricing out at roughly $7,500 for 2 guests people have no interest? Looks like a great chance to royal up for everyone!
  15. I find looking at the horizon from the MDR, when the ship is rocking, is the worst for my seasickness. Something about watching that line go half way up the window, or more) and then back down…
  16. Share the cruises…I bet a lot of people here will take a peek for pricing! Maybe even book!
  17. They were not visible all night, but then again we weren’t looking all night. When we did see them it was not for great lengths of time. We saw them almost every night in the Greenland area. After 8pm, at times 9 or 10 pm…I think a lot depended on when people chose to look and then they shared if they saw something. we were outside-bundle up! It was best to move away from the lit up areas. Deck 13 on Jewel was pretty dark, otherwise some areas of Deck 12 were good.
  18. Yes. The loyalty ambassador is who you will need to see so she can give you a new seapass card (this is updating the one you’ll get for the 2nd half of B2B) and activate your 4 free drinks and crown lounge access. You can always double check with them on week 1 about this process.
  19. I did this cruise last year. The Facebook group tried setting up a phone chain. Lots of mad people when they missed calls or the call was late night. The Facebook group people would chat/post when they spotted lights and people would go. I don’t recall announcements. i recommend learning if your phone will be able to capture the lights, mine could iPhone 12 Pro. Hubby’s could not-iPhone x. The lights appeared as wisps of light grey clouds. The phone would pick up the color-not the naked eye-to us it looked like wisps of clouds.
  20. I was just cranky because they first lied and said they don’t print them at all and they stuck to the lie. I knew it was a lie because I’d been sailing, a lot. When pressed they said it goes to people of a certain age without them asking. That’s when I asked about cranky middle aged people-said with love.
  21. When I inquired last year at Guest Services about getting a cruise compass I was told it’s automatically given to guests of a “certain age” ( not disclosed). I believe my reply was something about getting one for a cranky middle aged woman, they promptly gave me one. Maybe you are “of that age”?
  22. It is currently running on the Anthem cruise this week. The activities for next week are not loaded yet. Anthem is currently on a 12 day cruise so the activities do not align to the upcoming 8 night.
  23. Does anyone have a copy of Royals travel insurance? I’d like to read about their cancel for any reason portion
