  1. I had discussed this with the attendant I had when the rumor started it would seem wise to select evening if you beach excursions= sand otherwise whatever sand you bring in in the day time is there for the whole night. I picture sand in the bed. Obviously not everyone is covered in sand but it’s good for thought. im on Enchantment and the steward asked which service I would like. Morning from 8-1 (I think) or evening 4-8. I told him whatever’s easiest for him. He chose morning. Now, if he’s going to knock and wake me, I’ll be switching to evening service. it’s day 1 -he added my mattress topper while I was at dinner and brought my D+ toiletries . (Yeah!) I know it’s not necessarily his job but I have my dirty champagne glasses and plate outside my door since 1:30, and have since added the ice bucket and another glass. I’m in a busy crew hallway….it’s after 10:15 and still there. Room service just did a delivery 2 doors down, and no pick up. I guess we’ll see if overnight they will disappear.
  2. My daughter and I ordered room service on Grandeur in January. It was after 11:00pm and we were told a 1.5 hour wait. It took that long and the order was not correct. So then what? Call and ask for a new order when it’s well after midnight? I carried the tray of food to guest services to make my complaint. The room service fee was reversed.
  3. When I decided to give up pizza (gasp) I looked for Windjammer and was as surprised as you that it was closed at 9pm. Then I made it a point to get there before closing and the food was in absolute horrid condition. It looked like it had sat out, untouched, for hours. Dry, congealed, nasty. This happened on 2 different sailings and I stopped trying. Now I try and squirrel away some fruit for my late night "treat" because that seems to have been removed from a lot of the venues as well. If it's not pizza, those lousy little sandwhiches or cakes/cookies you have not other choices.
  4. you are quite generous. I book the flights and we all suffer through sitting at the airport if it will save me significant $$ for a family of 5 or 6.. I hear them complain, I mention next time they can pay for the earlier flights, they shut up. I hope you can find somthing that works best for you.
  5. Chops lunch in Chops is fantastic and half the price of dinner. It’s in the cruise planner. Personally I don’t think the key is worth it unless it was very close in price to the internet or the sailing is super full and you can use the rock wall feature etc unless the kitchen has a separate kids lunch menu it’s doubtful they’ll throw on a pot of water and make sauce. If you find out they can’t do it then you can take a quick visit to the windjammer to get food while you are waiting on your meal.
  6. My SIL had too much OBC on her account …it was from her visa points transfer. We went to guest services and she asked to have her OBC moved from her cabin to my cabin. They did it.
  7. Not all cabins on all ships have these. Not all coolers work. The temp of the cooler may not meet the temp the meds need to be stored at.
  8. It’s absolutely disgusting to see people leave a stall, bypass the sink and go about their day. cruise ships have had signs to use paper towels to open bathroom doors for quite some time. I see the need for that. Self serve buffets gross me out too. Watch as people eat while “shopping”, lick their fingers and then grab the serving spoon. With that said, I also did not like being served at the buffet during the restart because the server couldn’t understand what “a little” meant.
  9. I received an email today for my cruise this Thursday. There was a link to make special requests for your stateroom. pics show the details, of course they are out of order. Read from bottom up.
  10. I’ve not slept on deck 7 balcony, I’ve been in their interior cabins, other balcony and their junior suite. I have lower back issues. I find the bed is too hard to the point I can barely walk when I wake up, you can request a mattress topper on your reservation or ask your room steward for one.
  11. . All Congressional offices are able to assist their constituents with passports. try reaching out to them for what you would need to do for expediting via their office
  12. I have not received anything regarding these changes and I’m on the Oct 15 sailing. . Did you use a TA and they related the change? Use a TA but you heard from Royal directly ? Or Did you book directly with Royal? I’m trying to figure out how to get this notification thank you!
  13. The only Diamond lounge I’ve seen 2 computers was on Oasis. You needed the internet package to use them. I will say sometimes you might luck out and someone has left themselves logged in on the computers.
  14. When you board look for the “box office” if there is one, it’s a table set up for entertainment reservations. If the ship doesn’t have one you can try guest services for reservations-and if there’s a line get on the app and see if you can book anything while you wait. mid there is nothing at all available keep checking the app and go standby to the shows, ask the employees in the area if the show where the standby line begins.
  15. I’m sorry to hear they are doing that to solo cruisers. I’ve enjoyed the double points as a solo in a room designed for 2 and have been able to move up the tiers quickly because of it. if you can book cheaper in a cabin for 2 you can put any name and no show them and get port fees/taxes back. if you are considering paying that 400%, and I doubt you are, then maybe it’s worth looking at a junior suite and you’d get double points with 2 booked, even with the made up person.
  16. I was on a New England/Canada cruise out of NY. 2 people I met planned to get off in Maine, stay with friends and get back on at the next port in Maine. Lucky for them they inquired at Guest Services about their plans. They were told they would not be permitted back onboard and they’d have to pay the penalty for violating the PVSA. Needless to say they vacated those plans.
  17. There is no computer onboard that is free service. You need the internet package to use a computer, if you can find them or if it was your own. You could buy a 24 hour pass but it’s about $29. The older ships seem to have a “business” center, on Anthem there was a computer in the library. I’m not sure where the computers are on the Oasis class. if you have a cellphone provider and service at the ports perhaps your phone can be a hotspot for your laptop if you can’t get what you need off of your phone.
  18. Yep! I am fortunate to have family usually drop off/pick up and we are over an hour away. I have a long cruise and would definitely consider the hotel stay if I can’t get a ride.
  19. Nope, but for those sailing there be aware a passport is required in order to board the ship.
  20. You have 48 hours before a reservation to cancel and get a refund. If you cancel at 48 hours or more while onboard it is refunded as onboard credit (OBC). You might consider keeping the paid reservation , if once you board you fit the parameters to cancel and then you can see if you’ll be able to book the free versions and cancel the paid version. Otherwise there’s a poetical you can miss out all around-depending on demand during your sailing.
  21. When I took unrelated minors on a cruise I created a permission slip based on the royal permission slip AND I added to it that I was in charge for any medical decisions due to e I gent circumstances and the in the inability to reach parents in a timely fashion. . All paperwork was notarized and included dates of travel as well as “any extension of the trip due to unforeseen circumstances”. I also had the parents provide me a copy of their medical card. in hindsight perhaps having travel insurance (not Royals) would have been wise in the event of a need for an emergency evac flight.
  22. I was able to get a memory foam mattress topper for my bed on Radiance. I made 2 different requests….1 to housekeeping and another by note to the stateroom attendant.. I imagine housekeeping sent it as it was large enough for both twin beds. I only needed a single. I was quite put off when the blue memory foam topper-not encased in anything, was placed just beneath the top sheet and not under the mattress pad. I remade the bed, placing the mattress pad over it and told the stateroom attendant I was good with the bed and to not make it the rest of the week. On other ships the topper they use appears to be encased in a washable cover at least.
  23. http://www.cruiseliberty.com/directions_parking.html?fbclid=IwAR2YOVN7U3325SXjfjRfgF3cb9HQiBjOXFInoT_UtA6Ws7qteBuRx2g9F6o It's finally happening. The price is going from $25 a day to $30 a day. Effective May 1st, 2023
  24. I appreciate the sympathy, I commented due to some sayhing "the majority here like the beds". Perhaps the majority have bothered to comment in regards to liking the beds. At least there is something Royal can try and do to make the bed more comfortable for me. If the beds were too soft for everyone there's not much they could do. So it's a "good problem" for Royal to have as they can try to fix it. I know a lot of people read these forums and if I can save one person from the pain I feel the morning after that mattress I've done my job. BTW, hubby finds the bed comfy as is-so we are split in my family.
  25. My "straddle" cruise-which started March 27 and ended April 6 has had the appropriate earned casino points- earned for the April 1-April 6 portion of my sailing added to my Club Royale account.
