  1. Yes. Windjammer closes at 9pm though. The only late night food is Sorrentos or cafe promenade.
  2. Not surprising. When people asked questions on the Presidents cruise-“Michael Bayley forum” that involved a potential to reduce costs etc he would often defer to his “numbers guy”, “crunching numbers” etc. yes, it’s a business-and since there’s record numbers the way we are accustomed to cruising will be changed, not necessary gonna like it. Eventually this will backfire on them. PS I suppose on my upcoming cruises I better start mentioning that I’ve eaten at Sorrentos (have pretty much cut that out) so I can be calculated in their count.
  3. I think you need to escalate this. email the ceo [email protected] keep it short and sweet with dates (names if any) and brief statements. I do t see the need for your appointments with DPS, it muddles the point of your complaint and makes it difficult to understand why it is mentioned. finish with your reasonable expectation as to what you feel should occur based on your complaint. (Ex full refund or future cruise credit equal to the cost of your cruise-or if you be willing to accept either.) BTW Royal cannot keep port fees and taxes so expect a refund.
  4. I think after the first night you’ll have a good idea on portion sizes served, that may help you in the coming days. The only plate I feel has a lot of food is the Caribbean jerk chicken…. The cheese tortellini now has about 10-12 pieces (yes I counted) which to me is an appetizer size. mug at all possible ask for plates to be brought out together-some ships/servers will…others say it’s not permitted. The reason I say together is the waitstaff pulls the table order from the kitchen all at once, snd your hood is cooling down in a covered dish while you eat the first plate. mid after having a look at what’s served and you decide you want more or another dish you can just ask. We had a running joke at our table one night that the smallest man always had the smallest plate of food…and that man could eat! He’d take one look at the size of his plate and tell the server nicely, “I’m going to need a second plate of this”. The waitstaff is very good about accommodating each person.
  5. We took the shuttle from the ship to the people mover….I do not recall where the buses parked in relation to the people mover but the walk was not “that long”. I’m pretty sure when the buses dropped us off they were sticking around to do the pick up to bring the new cruisers back to the ship. Look for a few buses and staff in the same color shirts. I imagine there would be some signage too. If it were me I’d park one person at the exit of the people mover and walk around to find the right location as opposed to the family dragging luggage in every direction looking for where we need to be.
  6. Non issue, but if they are doing any flights for you get it addressed.
  7. The ice shows are likely the same. They might have one night where they do a “showcase”-each skater has their own little thing they do to showcase their talent. carry on, I prefer wheeled for my “must have” items. It is super easy to just wheel them from place to place, park it and enjoy the activity. I don’t feel unsafe doing so. Flowrider has benches-you can leave your stuff on that while you take your turn. Sounds like December will be chilly so you might not want to be on flowrider. I know in the past it must be at least 50 degrees for them to open . I’m not familiar with the temps in LA.
  8. The waiter may never even have heard of Jamie’s. Not all ships have all restaurants plus I don’t believe they have the privilege of eating the specialty restaurant’s food.
  9. Try trinityreservations.com ive not used them yet but they do have hotels where you can leave your car.
  10. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can find something as exciting
  11. Will the group cancel the cruise? I saw Matt’s blog. Rhapsody isn’t traversing the canal .
  12. I thought my spouse keeps my status but his own points. While onboard we were chatting with a loyalty ambassador and this came up. He checked the system and it turns out my husband was not entered into a relationship with me. He fixed it, my husband now shows my points (me being the points earner). My husband recently sailed on his own. The 4 points he earned did not move our “joint points” up as I’ve earned a significant amount of points without him. call crown and anchor and ensure your entered into a relationship. 1 (800) 526-9723 Or when you are on your next cruise you can make an inquiry while onboard with the loyalty ambassador
  13. I think the unsweetened ice tea is delicious as is. There is also regular yellow lemonade available and water at dinner. Some locations have freeflavored drinks….I do not drink them so can’t say what flavors. If they find something they like they can fill a cup and bring it to dinner. I’m sure milk is also available at dinner. hopefully you are aware you can carry on soda. This might alleviate your issue https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  14. Glad you found it. The menus do not always populate correctly. until you board and connect to ship WiFi, then you’ll know it’s accurate.
  15. When I did eat there I had the same waiter so tipping wasn’t an issue. Good question!
  16. Shoot, I’m a Chops person but after reading these reviews I think I might try 150 CP….only problem is I have no Oasis class sailings booked! This will be an expensive meal!
  17. 1 person 1 device just means only 2 device can be active. So yes, you can share with your wife but only one of you can be on the internet at any given time. how it works: I log in, I’m on my device, hubby decides he will use the login password to access his device, he gets a notice to the effect “by continuing you’ll be knocking off the other device”…he happily presses the continue button knocking me off my cruise research, I curse, log in and knock him off…., of course if there is communication you can eliminate the cursing now try this with a family of 6 and only 4 devices purchased….it makes for an awesome cruise!
  18. LOVE my sling float. I bring it to CoCocay all the time. If you buy one make sure it has a valve to blow up with your mouth. I purchased one once that needed an air pump-glad I looked before packing it!
  19. I think another question I should ask in case I book flights with a stop….airports to avoid making transfers?!
  20. Oasis is on an 8 night sailing at the moment, which could be interning with your viewing. Night 6 as stated.
  21. We sailed in junior suites on Anthem this past February. We enjoy the MDR but after the 2nd night, with lousy service and not so great food we went snd inquired about reservations at CK. We were able to make the move for the remainder of the cruise. What a difference! Service was fantastic, the classics are still offered there. I have the ability to do this again on my TA in Anthem and am torn. I like a shared table in the MDR to be able to meet new people. That doesn’t happen in CK. Tough choices!
  22. I posted in “other travel” with essentially no response so thought aid try here. I booked B2B cruises out of Vancouver for Alaska in May. JetBlue has only 1 direct flight from JFK and it seems decent enough price wise, but of course, if that one flight cancels that's the end of that. (will fly in 2 days early) Air Canada seems to nickel and dime. Has anyone flown them? Thoughts? Any recommendations to perhaps fly into another hub, maybe stay a night and then take a flight to Vancouver? Input on airline reliablity. Any other helpful info. Hotel recommendations for Vancouver would be appreciated as well. Thank you!
  23. You can carry on your own if you please. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  24. The iced lattes I’ve had at cafe promenade put hot coffee with the milk on ice. I always grossed out on how “warm “ the coffee starts out, needs lots of stirring. the “hot” lattes in the Diamond Lounge are warm. I think the result would be the same if poured over ice. (Minus the caramel flavor)
  25. We all start and go through the same levels. I recall enjoying some of the tier benefits throughout the lower tiers when I sailed with my family. Welcome to Royal!
