Logistics - Fort Lauderdale / Adventura / Miami
Pattycruise replied to DisneyWorld30th's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I second SAS Transportation. -
True, I forgot to mention that. I did try to upgrade my balcony to a Jr suite but they then reverted the free balcony to the $value of a pinnacle cruise and the upgrade difference became ridiculous. Definitely not worth the price.

Has anyone taken the "Best of Sicily" excursions?
Pattycruise replied to jeeden's topic in Shore Excursions
I did this tour and enjoyed it. No idea who the company was. The tour guide on the bus was amazing, endlessly gave us info on what we were seeing. I’ve a lousy memory but do recall getting a cannoli at a restaurant. If you need the restroom at the restaurant-RUN to get inside. It’s small and the line was long. Our guide finally came along and brought us to an upstairs bathroom and us ladies took over the ladies and men’s room so the line would move, the upstairs had been ripped off but she took initiative! I took my cannoli outside to eat and walk around-I wanted to see things-not sit in a restaurant. There was a small store in the restaurant/they really seemed to appreciate cash as the line moved winner with that. Taormarina was beautiful. At the far plaza-the third one- there is a museum for a coliseum. I did not go in as I had meandered there and didn’t feel I could give it time. …I did pass through that plaza and found a street with a restaurant/almost “fast food” in that they had premade tins of lasagna. I enjoyed that and a beer but there were lots of glues/annoying. Food was ok, definitely cheaper than some of the other places I had passed. The bus-FULL. The seats-ok. I’m tall -roughly 5’11 and my knees were up against the seat in front of me. I also travelled solo so it was awkward when I got on the bus close to first and grabbed a window seat and then a couple got on last and couldn’t get seats together (family of 3 were the other odd couple. anyhow after the first stop people jumped seats and that threw off the bus-family with 2 small kids couldn’t sit near their kids so they threw them on their lap…no thanks dea why they couldn’t sit one adult and 1 child..,.anyhow next stop the lap children were ended by the guide. I finally asked if on the ride back could sit next to the guide up front as I needed leg room and I wouldn’t be the odd wheel. After much ado she insisted I sit there. Thankful!!! So-if you get seats you like-maybe leave a sweater or something on the bus to save the seat. I don’t think I was in a small group-we were about 40 or so. -
Oddly you don’t get crown and anchor points on the free Pinnacle cruise.
-
Yes, that’s how I reached Pinnacle! Lots of solo casino cruises. Solo cruises gets Double Crown and anchor points if in a balcony or below if those cabins can hold at least 2 people (not a designated solo cabin). If a cabin is a junior suite or higher the solo sailer gets triple crown and anchor points.

It’s a nice change from the WIndjammer. On some sailings I’ll go and get the guacamole, the chicken, and the beans and then go to Central Park and get some e salad stuff and throw my loco fresh stuff on top.

Playing on spouse’s card at table games
Pattycruise replied to LandstromCruise's topic in Casino Royale
Never tried but when someone shows up without a card the dealer presses them for it. If they still don’t produce it there’s usually a conversation that takes place with the pit boss. I’ve seen them look up the room and then enter the person into the system. Usually when the dealer scans in a card they say thank you “Jane” or “Jim” so I’d be surprised if they let Jim stay at the table when it’s “Jane’s” card -
At the very least wearing a mask would be the responsible thing to do. Not only is there a possibility you are coming down with something but your immunity is likely suffering so you may pick something up. Not a bad time to take extra vitamin C. Also pack meds to have for your cruise. I have an entire toiletry kit with meds and it has come in handy when cruising.

How could Club Royale add me to a strangers booking?
Pattycruise replied to Pattycruise's topic in Casino Royale
Casino host checked my account and there is nothing out of line with my personal account. She took the info to send into Club Royale. The booking in question is when I’m going to be on Wonder-I mentioned that to her and she started to jot that down and I begged her to not mention my Wonder sailing as someone at Club Royale will likely screw that up, -
I just received a Royal up email for a ship and sail date I’m not on. Fortunately I’m onboard a ship so I went to the Loyalty ambassador to inquire and she verified I show on this booking! She provided me with the name of the other individual on the sailing-someone I’ve never heard of. How in the world do they make a mistake like this? next stop tomorrow is the casino host to see if they can address this.

REAL ID Deadline Fast Approaching / UK ETA Reminder
Pattycruise replied to JasonOasis's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I agree I can’t think of one time I wished I had my passport at a domestic flight. so many people lose things, lose bags, have things stolen it’s not worth dragging it out for domestic flights. There were people at the airport in Barcelona (returning home from a cruise) had their bag snatched, while online at their airline, and their passports were in the bag-granted it wasn’t a domestic flight-but why risk the loss when traveling domestically. -

If you are driving on vacation and get that phone call of an emergency and decide to fly home ASAP you can do it if you have your real id license. Most people don’t carry their passport. -
Well we know I’m writing to the CEO to look into this BS. I’ve got lots of cruises booked. I may just cancel a free items on other cruises to make up for my loss of $ if I have to pay the higher price to rebook these items. Sadly I’m the one who suggested we book these dinners, and the ladies are excited, otherwise I’d say screw it’s and just cancel them altogether

Royal has outdone themselves. booked a casino comp under my name “P” added a friend “B” to my cabin Another friend who has the same first name as me “P” books her own cabin I purchased 2 sets of dinners for “P” and “P”—-accidentally under my friends’ “P” reservations -no worries When ”B” was added to my cabin she buys the same 2 dinners for herself. “B” gets a casino offer for the same sailing. So she books her own cabin. Cancels her 2 dinners and of course her port fees and taxes are refunded. I call to ensure “B” is cancelled off my cabin (I misunderstood her and thought I had to do it). The agent says I’m the only one on the reservation but I owe $115. My end does not show a balance due in the app! There’s no way I owe money. Is this Black Friday crap again-nope…I never cancelled and rebooked anything. Agent says she’ll check with resolutions. She calls me back twice first time saying “B” stuff still shows active on my booking (not on my end) and they need to be cancelled. I say that s not possible and those are MY dinners. Next she calls back and says MY dinners were cancelled and had to be because “B” cancelled hers and that my dinners had been cancelled back when “B” cancelled hers. Um, no-they still shows actively booked AND my meals were booked under the other “P” so they shouldn’t be touched -not that they should be touched anyway!! So I’m promised a call back today After I got off the phone at 9:57pm last night I go into the app and THEY are MODIFYING My BOOKING! they cancelled off my 2 dinners!!!! I actually have a screenshot of the process happening-showing booked, then modified, AND the email confirmations came in at 10:03pm. WTH!!! i checked my bank statement and on Dec 27 it appears they refunded me twice. Well then just charge me the $$$, don’t cancel my dinner booking!! seriously what’s wrong with these people! “b” is going to check her bank statement when she gets home to see what she’s been refunded. Royal said last night i still owed $ or they still owed…they are confused. But why cancel my dinners?? This is a booking in May, plenty of time to figure it out. Allegedly they’ll call me tonight. ****** So anyone have luck getting incorrect cancellations back at the same price they paid? ***** if Royal could listen to the recording of their seemingly competent agent they would hear me saying my reservations were still showing. I for one would like to hear the conversation between that agent and resolutions!!! they really need to work on their refund department-I think that’s where this BS stems from.

https://www.dhs.gov/real-id If you answer yes to having the flag or star it says acceptable.. you could take it one step further and click on state of NY on the map to see that it confirms the enhanced license is good for real ID -
REAL ID Deadline Fast Approaching / UK ETA Reminder
Pattycruise replied to JasonOasis's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yea but it’s a flag on it , not the star-so some TSA agents may not be familiar as that’s the rare case-only 5 states have enhanced licenses that are also real ID. -
When you book your cabin you make the request. (Or you can call back and have the request added to your booking) Don’t be surprised that they don’t give you one. It’s hit or miss. I’ve scored the illustrious mattress topper already on the bed a few times. Other times they put a duvet on top of the mattress pad , which is entirely useless. Yet other times they’ve thrown an extra mattress pad on the bed, also totally useless. I have a preprinted note I leave out if I check the bed and don’t find the mattress topper-on those sailings I’ve had varied success. my recent b2b on Brilliance -cabin 1 must have been a new bed-all they did was add the duvet and I was comfortable. 2nd week-bed had 2 mattress pads and when I inquired about the foam topper the guy added a duvet. This combo does not work for me. However, if it’s 4 mattress pads thick I’m ok, so I folded the doubled mattress pads over to one side of the bed and left the doubled duvet on hubby’s side. He was not thrilled! good luck!

Casino year points split on March/April straddle
Pattycruise replied to Pattycruise's topic in Casino Royale
Boost it how? It’s a long way from prime to Signature and even longer from Signature to Masters. If you are considering it then be sure the benefits at each level are worth the potential cost. Are you talking earning a few hundred points to the next level or you need closer to a thousand points or more. It can be quite the investment if you are losing. I’ll be on a straddle cruise again….i have no need to gamble night one and two-as it will be adding points to an old casino year and I won’t move up my level. Im sure there will be people hitting the casino hard to get to their desired level. Hopefully the outlay is worth it. -
Back to back check in question?
Pattycruise replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Jones Act comes into play… Ex. Hawaii to Vancouver and then staying onboard for Vancouver to Seward. US citizens cannot do that. There is no distant foreign port involved. The Seward to Vancouver and taking the ship back to Seward is fine as is going Vancouver to Seward and taking the ship back to Vancouver. -
Also adding, if the offers are the same code you can combine to get a larger cabin-maybe they have a JS cabin that holds 5? (Not necessarily ideal)
-
No cabins that hold 3 at all or just on the certificate? You can pay to upgrade to a cabin that holds 3 or 4. Also just to be sure you are aware, the CR bookings have to be from 2 different people. You can’t book 2 cabins on the same ship with your own offers .
-
Mine usually show up the disembarkation day. I’ve booked a number of cruises waiting to disembark from the ship.
