  1. There are a lot of restrictions with those types of promo/points. They usually are only available with new booking, being taken in 12months, and less than 30 days old. Basically, none of them can actually be used in conjunction with most Club Royale promotions. For example if you earn a comp, use a money off, etc., you cannot apply them because in the casino mind its two different types of promos.
  2. It should be but nope it is based on their casino year. So, if you make prime in August 2023, you are prime until March 31st of 2025. However, your points will reset before your status expires. Basically, you are prime for the remainder of that year and then for the following year. That following year is how long they give you to make prime again.
  3. You might be a bit hungry, even if you try everything because it is frou frou, so the portions are........not small but also not filling. My brother is a big eater, he tried pretty everything on the menu, and he still needed wings and onion rings from Playmakers and his pre-dinner WJ plates after.
  4. I noticed that on my last couple of sailings, they were trying hard to get people to book specialty restaurants. I plan to rely on this for my shorter sailing when the UDP isn't worth it.
  5. I have to say that Portside does bbq better. Everything else at Mason Jar was good but the brisket left a lot to be desired. Meanwhile I could eat Portside brisket for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  6. Unlimited milkshakes are only available with the DX (deluxe drinking package) or refreshment package. The UDP (unlimited/ultimate dining package) is for specialty restaurants.
  7. They last from casino year to year which is April first to March 31st. During that time, you can drink in the casino for free as long as it is open and get other perks.
  8. I don't understand people who get upset at others for being helpful. Walkie talkies aren't permitted a lot of places, why is this a big deal? I don't really have FB in general but whenever I breeze by people are just mean.
  9. I am currently prime with 9762 points, I won't sail until May and my points will be zero.
  10. I always look under the bed because I use the extra blankets for my yoga. Once they didn't get the luggage until 3am.
  11. Hmmm I always say I am going to pack my yoga mat one of the days I do a longer sailing. But it's the extra thick kind, so I leave it behind and use the extra blankets and sheets stored under the bed. But now you have given me an idea about the balcony when I have one.
  12. I would say this community represents maybe 5% of the cruising world and probably only about 20% of that number is casino players. I don't think the number of people interested/achieving prime has increased, I think the topic is more interesting because of the new way they do comps. An interest in achieving something is not the same as actually achieving it. When I am at the casino more than half the people playing aren't even using their cards. Do I think a casino subsection would be great, yes, but I don't think the volume of casino players has increased dramatically on the boards.........at least in comparisons to the people achieving higher loyalty status.
  13. The 2BR GS will have bedrooms with doors but in most cases, it might come out better financially to do two balconies, interiors or combination of the two. You have to weigh whether the suite perks are worth it to you.
  14. Keep in mind this blog represents a very small number of cruisers. Then remember that an even smaller number of cruisers are casino players. So to find anyone who is a master, let along a however many times master will be almost a zero percent.
  15. The pool is a good spot for shenanigans, especially involving nudity. Not that we want to see nudity........at least I don't . I can be open-mind and not like those things for myself. I make it a habit to try something new, if I don't like it, I can always get something else. It's how I tried the polenta and calamari app at Giovanni's. I also like how you are filling your days, 4n cruises usually go by fast and I often don't feel like I got to do everything. But you are eating all the food and catching all the reality.
  16. The garlic knots are my favorite thing at Giovanni's. I am allergic to veal, so I stay clear of the osso buco. We took pizzas to go on Wonder and I was disappointed because mine was wrong. I hope it is better on Freedom. Sadly, nudity when it comes to bathing suits tops on cruises is a huge thing........also even with speedos. So much so I often feel like I just need to mention it in a general way. I am sure that wasn't the first wardrobe malfunction given this is a spring break cruise. I also heard the music is a mood killer for people with regular ears at Hideaway.
  17. Chef's table has a set menu, it won't differ no matter what ship you sail. You can look in the cruise planner and see when it is being offered as well as the menu.
  18. You can downgrade, you would have to remove the pax and add a room. The deal would be that one adult has to be in the room on the booking with the children under 21. But it doesn't matter who sleeps in each room.
  19. What is all that white stuff surrounding the lasagna?
  20. I knew it was just Sorrento's pizza. So if Hideaway was like $15 or less I would go. Paying anything over that is a waste of money......I mean I don't get off at PDCC often either so paying anything is a waste of my money. @Yesiamthere6 Wow that is a great deal. I got offered something similar on Mardi gras but I didn't have the time. I was told they give back what you pay in Casino credits when you book a comped offer, so I will see how the sailing goes in Jan and make a decision.
  21. I tried Carnival 20 years ago and hated it, vowed to never sail it again. But I keep hearing the food is so much better and the casino is very forgiving so a 4n at under a $1k for three people with $50obc seemed okay........especially if all my plans work out on my Freedom sailing in the casino I noticed the to-go shakes are in a smaller cup at JR. But too much milkshake is also not good imho. I am madder that the cost to eat at Jr is almost $20 now. Also, the hair thing, ewwwww . But I tend to notice that the college-aged youths seem to be far more manner-able than the pre/teen youths. Thankfully I avoid sailing during spring break and the summer, I hate to hear them when they play their drinking games.
  22. We still look young.......usually there is always someone older to make it that way But wow the cost of the shake is much cheaper than when I was on Freedom last April. I used a voucher, and it was something like $5.65 or $6 something. Also thanks for the Carnival Conquest photo, my mom has been begging me to book carnival and I bit the bullet. That ship sails out of Miami, carnival isn't sailing out of FLL, and I chose the conquest. It doesn't look too bad, I also prefer to start with midlevel ships and not the new and biggest of the bunch.
  23. To add MTD starts around 6:45, you can wait in line without a reservation; but you cannot alternate between traditional to MTD. So, to reiterate there is still only two dining times across the fleet, this includes Icon, and that will be 5/5:30 and 8/8:30.
  24. I always say night 1 is the best night for specialty dining because the welcome abord menu is boring and usually it is chaotic. Think about it, most of the staff has spent the day preparing the ship for new guest, they are tired and learning the new pax preferences. So mistakes and long wait times can happen. Specialty restaurants don't deal in volume, so it is a much more relaxing experience.
  25. There will be 3 traditional dining times eventually and it is not just Icon specified. The option has not rolled out yet.
