  1. ‘We talked about it more over dinner and decided we might as well try it since our 8yo son isn’t coming with us on this cruise. He for sure wouldn’t like it. So I sent in our reservation requests with 1 night at Wonderland
  2. This Yelp review in the pic below just sold us on NOT going to Wonderland lol
  3. We always make the entire weeks worth of UDP reservations pre-cruise thru the suite concierge to make sure we get the times and days we want at each restaurant. We figure we’re paying for the extra service in all the extra we pay for the suite ..... and on the cruise itself, we’ve pretty much never had to bother the concierge for anything else, ..... so since it is part of their job as a suite concierge, we figure making our dinner reservations is the least they can do for us in exchange for all the extra we pay to stay in a suite.
  4. We've never eaten at Wonderland before. We’re on Harmony 1/19-26. We have the UDP and I have to email the suite concierge back today with the days and times we want to eat at each restaurant. Should we eat at Wonderland? I’ve heard mixed reviews about it and I saw that a few people on a post somebody made in an RCCL Facebook group have said that the Wonderland on Harmony was very disappointing. If you think we should eat there ....... please tell me your favorite appetizers and entrees and what you liked about them. Thanks in advance.
  5. For some reason, if you don’t know you can make UDP reservations thru the suite concierge pre-cruise, they don’t seem to tell you when they send out their email.
  6. ‘You wouldn’t pay them now, they’d go on your invoice now and lock in the current gratuity rate ..... you actually pay them on your final payment date along with the rest of the cruise fare.
  7. THANK YOU ..... I had thought it might be fun to do a cruise for New Year’s Eve, but now I see we wouldn’t like that at all with a tight packed in crowd like that.
  8. I’d honestly prefer if they just charged a few hundred dollars more per person for the cruise and PAID THE CREW BETTER ....... then you could tip the people you wanted to tip what you felt they deserved ............ i already just treat the “prepaid gratuities” as part of the cruise fare and then also generously tip the people who I come in contact with that deserve it.

  10. Since you are staying in a GS ...... You’ll get a welcome email from the suite concierge about a week to 10 days before the cruise ....... if you do purchase the UDP, reply to that email with the dates and times (lunch or dinner) that you’d like to eat at the included restaurants and ask them to make all your reservations for you. You’ll get a confirmation of your reservations from them before you cruise. That’s one of the perks of staying in a grand suite or better. Also, there’s more than enough things on the menu at each restaurant to not feel like you’re eating repetitive. We much prefer the specialty restaurants over the MDR.
  11. ‘Not everyone ...... if you are staying in a Grand Suite or better, the suite concierge emails you a week to 10 days before the cruise to welcome you and they will make all your unlimited dining plan reservations for you if you email back and give them the dates and times you want at each restaurant.
  12. BUT ....... IF you are staying in Grand Suite or better on any ship and have the unlimited dining plan, THEN when the suite concierge emails you a week to 10 days before the cruise, you can give them the dates and times for all the restaurants you want to eat at and have them make the reservations for you pre-cruise.

  14. We’re going to be on Oasis again in February in a Crown Loft Suite and if she acts the same way again, I will say something to the hospitality director for sure. That will also be our first cruise as Diamond.

  16. We were just on Oasis for Thanksgiving week ........ even on the 2 formal nights, there were people in the specialty restaurants with nicer shorts and polo shirts on. It was the same when we were on Symphony in September. You don’t have to get all dressed up anywhere on formal nights if you don’t want to.
  17. Are you staying in a Grand Suite or above? If you are, the suite concierge will email you a week before the cruise and you can reply and give them the dates, times, and restaurants you want to eat at and they will make all your reservations for you ........ but that’s ONLY if you’re in a suite.
  18. Smoking isn’t the only way people use marijuana anymore ........ edibles (candy), patches, creams, capsules to name just a few
  19. Yes ..... you can wear nice shorts to my time dining, regular dining, specialty restaurants, coastal kitchen ........ you’d be surprised by how many people even wear shorts to dinner at all dining options on “formal night”
  20. Its actually not that curious as to why ..... rather than having a suite area for people who are already paying at least triple the normal cost to cruise wouldn’t make Royal MORE money ..... charging the maximum they possibly can get for people to buy into an “exclusive” beach club on CocoCay is much better for their bottom line.
  21. I posted this on the other thread asking the same question ..... There’s not, but starting the end of January 2020, you can PAY A FEE to go to the exclusive private beach club. That’s open to any guest who PAYS THE ADDITIONAL FEE of $59 to $79 each on the cruises I have booked. You won’t have to be in a suite to go there as long as you are wiling to pay more money. LOL

  23. Mine is like that also for 2 of our upcoming cruises ....... I guess they have another intern who doesn’t know math, like the one who gave us the $18 deluxe beverage packages a few months ago LOL
