I started sailing in 2016, 2019 with Royal. I had never once considered insurance because I thought it was not fiscally prudent. Fast forward to now I'm thinking our luck is bound to run out & I don't want to financially ruin us IF one of us became ill etc. We drive to port so never worry about flights but at our advanced age....I just would feel better. 2024 comes with 3 sailings and I want to make a prudent choice, so can you help a girl out? Thanks again everyone!

Suite Benefits - Bridge tours?
Neesa replied to Momof4crazytocruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
While we were offered the suites guest tour we opted for the all access. It was worth it! Here are a few pics! Long pants and closed toe shoes were required for all access though, just be aware. This was on the Wonder. -
Christmas & Birthday combined sailing! Hubby & kiddo did this, they wanted to visit Bermuda! Yay, a surprise sailing. They booked an Owners Suite on this ship, we would just have sailed the Adventure in the Royal Suite in June 2024. This sailing it's all about the itinerary once again. To say I was surprised was an under statement. We had a busy Holiday Season so as soon as I realized (while super impressed) I think they booked it at a fair price I called @Sharla. I was still in the booking window to transfer to her...I feel much better now! Just the 3 of us with college starting 26 August 2024 it will truly be our last sailing for some time. We are getting some great news pertaining to merit based scholarships so I think that was a huge sway for Cabash/Vintage Magnet. Still stunned, feeling blessed. Anyone else on this one? It's Labadee, Haiti; Sea Day, Overnight (2 days Bermuda), Sea Day, Perfect Day/CocoCay-Return PC.

I'm so happy you LOVE CK! We only sailed the Odyssey as that class of ship and we had the exact opposite experience. It was dark and some staff "aloof" while others did not want to be there. I also prefer the suite lounge in the same venue, not aft where it is located. Different strokes, right? Kiddo loved the Ifly, we have some amazing pictures on the wall from that. I loved the bumper cars, I squealed with laughter and joy every time I went after and crashed into someone. That was a great time. I will say when we were in CK there was a family who had reservations the same time as us every night and they brought their dog to dine. It was foul and disgusting. The woman strapped it to her chest (it wasn't that small) and fed it off the table. They were Star class and the Genie as well as the staff fawned over the situation. Just left a bad taste if you will. This was December 2021 I believe. She brought it to and made a play area in the poor excuse for a suite only sundeck area as well. It's a tiny area as it is and that situation made it even smaller. Have they addressed the suites sun deck area or is it still a tiny row of loungers? I'm so happy you guys are having the best time. You are my hero, 3 Next Cruise Certificates, woo-hoo!

Celebrity Beyond Holiday Cruise to the ABC Islands and Panama Canal
Neesa replied to iluvwineandtravel's topic in Live Blogs
Celebrity will be in our future, thanks so much for this incredible review. My question pertains to the MDR, several restaurants to choose from is it a MTD situation and you choose every night? DO you choose ahead of time? I don't mind the same time every night but I would experience big FOMO if I was only experiencing the same MDR every evening. How does one navigate this? I really hope you feel better soon! Happy New Year & again thanks for taking us along, she is a gorgeous ship!- 29 replies

@WAAAYTOOO & @SweetPea do you believe we have always sailed with zero insurance? Mr. Cabash always put a big no on it, but now I'm taking a stand!! We are not getting any younger and all of these medical mishaps have convinced me, no more. I just researched an annual Allianz policy that even covers transportation. I am going to purchase it before our June sailing & tell him when he see's the bill, I am convinced more now then ever it is something that is non negotiable moving forward. Thanks for helping me see the light! Our Adventure sailing isn't until June 7, 2024 but I am living for and loving on all these live reports, keep them coming & thank you in advance!!

This was 100% me....until my tummy put a stop to it. I still miss it, but for us this is a good move. We would feel like we were wasting what was on the table, so especially in the beginning of the voyage we would ask them to hold the butter all trip. That way, I would not be tempted, my crew doesn't eat it so no more wastefulness. Happy and Wonderful New Year everyone!!

Blessings and healing thoughts to your dad, I'm so happy you guys sailed together in the Villa! We sailed the Odyssey when the second mini shutdown happened. We were in the 2 bedroom grand I believe. The ship was a bit wonky as I missed the promenade. Our stops were eliminated and we just sailed around in circles. The suites concierge was down with "C" and we didn't really enjoy #CK on this ship, it seemed dark and an after thought, just spoiled I guess. Now, @OCSC Mike we thought it was the BEST WJ in the fleet. Big, bright, beautiful! I guess we didnt enjoy the suites lounge location as it was aft, seperate from CK. Also, I think we saw a show, a condensed version of the Book because most of the entertainment staff was down with "C" Never got to see the Effectors, so happy you YOLO and get to experience this sailing. Again all the best and warmest thoughts, wishes and prayers for dad, Following along

@Lovetocruise2002 our family of 3 experience in this cabin on the Mariner. So so happy @WAAAYTOOO is not experiencing any of this! The cabin has potential, maybe we just had an off sailing. There are pics of the silly bunk room as well. In a tiny slice of Mariner blog below.
-
Here is my Mariner in this cabin, I'm so glad @WAAAYTOOO is loving it and not having the experience I did. I thought while it was okay it wasn't a repeat cabin. We did love the views and had fun with people who were outside on deck! Ah, memories!!
-
When we stayed in that suite on the Mariner the golf balls overhead were annoying for some time. Loved the views but the cabin wasn't a suite experience at all.

I may have misunderstood, by loft I thought it was a Star Class loft suite. If it was a Crown Loft that is Sky class to Sky class so in fact the RU bid/assignment makes sense. Ugh, sometimes the names are confusing, that darn devil is in the details. Anyway, try to make the best of it moving forward, I do wish @Michael L the best outcome.
-
@tonyfsu21 I don't think the 1 bedroom aqua suites are Star, I think they are Sky class unless something has changed. I know the last time I was looking to book one that was their designation. Begs further investigation now on my part.
-
@Michael L I just wanted to express my disappointment for you and with you. We bid with this third party company in good faith of a true upgrade. This stinks, it hits home as we also tend to book 2 bathrooms. That stings, I'm so sorry this happened to you.

New diamond member question about drink vouchers
Neesa replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
@happy cruisers 2NOTE: check your account on the TV before bed, most times the places you utilized the vouchers will have the 0.00 charge. We did have an issue where for a few days someone used our vouchers & it wasn't us. We believe day 1 we said please use our voucher and responded with our cabin number when asked. The next few days we were " out of vouchers" when we never used them. We had to go to the concierge and leader of the dining services to get it taken care of. We were accused "softly" of trying to get more, but it was easy to prove as there are cameras everywhere, it was finally taken care of and our " charges" were removed. It was so frustrating, they must have caught the person because after happening 4 days in a row it finally stopped. -
New diamond member question about drink vouchers
Neesa replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
No, you get 4 vouchers per day. If you don't use them you lose them. They are assigned to your sea pass card, so easy to use! Enjoy and congratulations on becoming Diamond! -
3. 2. 1……Does a Mariner Wonder the Allure of Cruising 1/15/24-2/2/24
Neesa replied to Ampurp85's topic in Live Blogs
The flu is the worst! Speedy recovery to you. At least you have it now & can put it behind you instead of closer to your trip. May I ask what were the minimum bids on the Allure cabins you showed? If you are celebrating today, Have a Very Merry Christmas with those you love! Thanks for the update, it was wonderful to read this morning. "Tiny humans" that gave me a chuckle -

One day sale tomorrow only (December 20)
Neesa replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
When I think about how many times I harassed poor @Sharla every time I saw a "sale" of this type....to her credit she didnt fire me! Raise the price get some OBC! We are on to you Royal! Bottom line get the cabin you are comfortable with at the price you feel is fair because more often than not there are very few price drops now a days. My Utopia inaugural sailing in @OCSC Mike GS has gone up exponentially and the cabins are being booked. For the 3 of us it was just under 9, now for the 3 of us there is a 13 handle! Yikes! It's 4 nights!! But the cabins are disappearing. As a company they are winning!! Cruise planner may have some price drops but even then, BF is as good as it will ever get. Royal is able to sell cabins at DCL pricing especially on the newest ships...why wouldn't they? I keep thinking our pause timing couldn't be better. Thanks everyone for your live blogs, I'll live vicariously through you.
