To help you feel even more secure....unlike a hotel where you can open your own door in each room, on the cruise the room attendant has to unlock the connecting doors.

I've done Taste of the Caribbean (rum drinks) twice on Anthem. My mom recently did it on another ship. The first time I did it, it was very interactive and entertaining. The next time the bartenders just read from a packet and poured us our drinks (the first time they taught us how to use the shakers, how to do fancy looking things with them, and did not need a script at all). It was $40ish, so worth it. If you have the deluxe beverage package you get a discount (20% I think?). We had I believe 6 samples and then at the end we got to choose which one we liked best and they made us a full sized drink of it. We asked guest relations when the class would be for the second cruise, since I knew I had enjoyed it the year before. It wasn't well advertised - it was a Thanksgiving sailing and there were only I think 5 of us doing it.

We were on Anthem for Thanksgiving 2022 and it was fine. If you ask my 10 year old it was more than fine...we never saw him without a slice in his hand every time we passed him during the day! And every time he came back to the room he had a plate full to share with the others.

Others have given good info already, but I just wanted to let you know if your child has trouble sitting in the MDR, just let the waiter know and they will get their food out first. Our daughter's first cruise when she was 5 was rough (different diagnosis, similar issues some of which were severe at that time). The waiter was excellent about making sure she and I got our food quickly, then would have my husband bring me the dessert back to the room when he and the other 3 kids were finished with their meals (I had no free hand to carry the dessert because...times were rough with her then). While it wasn't the relaxing dinner I would have wanted, at least I got to eat a hot meal before whisking her back to the room. Also, not food related...but if you do want to try Adventure Ocean they will give you a phone that works on the ship. We let our daughter do it a couple times that cruise, and someone just stayed close with the phone waiting for the inevitable phone call. They NEVER judged her or us, and were so compassionate and understanding. We still get the phone when she goes to AO, but thankfully now are at a point where she is able to tell them something is wrong and they will call us to head it off ("these pants don't fit like I want them to!" - so thankful they are sensitive enough to know they should call us and not just ignore stuff like that).

The 10 year old was comfy, but were the grandparents

This only works in the rooms are near each other, but we just leave the extra cards in each stateroom. So nobody has to carry multiple cards around. If I need to get into my parents's room, I go into my room and get their card. If they need to get into my room, they have the card in their room. So far we have lucked out and had rooms close so we could do this.

The price of the Peggy's Cove tour went up before I decided to book, so I figured I would skip it. But then I saw it was still in my cart under the old price, so I booked. It still gives us the afternoon near the port to just walk around, so it should be a good day. Anyone know how Johnny Rockets is for pricing? Anthem was pay for what you wanted (I think...I admit I didn't actually get anything), but I know other ships are a set price. I figure since we have never done it in all of the kids' cruises (I used to do it ALL THE TIME when I was a kid and it was free), maybe this time we will actually take the time to stop by.

Has anyone done this? How many people per boat? Assuming nobody has booked it yet( it was just released a few days ago, so possibly someone has but let's go with they haben't), it looks like they allow 12 slots per time period. Wondering if that is between 1 boat or 2, because we will have 7 people if we decide to do it.

Same with CT. It took two months for the new birth certificates, but my daughters' birth certificates now have their adopted names and us listed as the parents.

If you go with a ride share, for peace of mind you can schedule the Uber the night before. I go to Disney often, and when I have a stupid early flight I always schedule the Uber the night before so I don't have to worry about timing it in the morning. I've lucked out every time and the driver is always early. Reduces my stress considerably.

Options for booking things on Labadee are up (previously it was just a few boat excursions, now it has the zip line, cabanas, etc). Only a 5% discount as of now, but I grabbed what I wanted and will watch the price.

Travelers with Passports vs. Birth Certificates
sleepy425 replied to ultimate_ed's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I did this same thing in 2019. Stupidly grabbed my expired passport only realized it when I handed it over. My husband joked that it was my ploy to get to go to Disney instead. The workers at the port were so kind. My mom was less than kind...she was on her way to my uncle's funeral and had to go to my house to take a picture of my birth certificate. The whole thing only added maybe 45 minutes on to our boarding process...and most of that time was waiting for my mom to get herself ready and get to my house. -
Is Kids Sail Free Really a good Deal?

KSF saved us about $1600 on our Alaskan cruise for 2024. We booked in a 2 bedroom grand suite as soon as it came out, and a few days later KSF was announced so the travel agent adjusted the price (3 of our 4 kids qualified for the promo). That was a nice surprise! -
thanks! Oh wow this even has Christmas trees on it! THANK YOU!!! ETA: ugh but not for Adventure, darn!!!

I have 6 cruises planned on 3 ships, and none of mine have liquor in the cruise planner. I only have champagne and wine included. Mine are Brilliance, Liberty, and Adventure. I just sailed Anthem and didn't have the option either. Maybe other classes do?

We go to guest services with an adult from each room and swap out who should be where. A couple weeks ago we had three rooms and had to change everyone around. It did mess with the onboard credits we had, but we just gave a list of what credit should be assigned to which room and we were good to go.

We put tags on them, but didn't include any way to get notified when they were found.

This is why I don't do it on the ship anymore.

A lot of machines go over $1/spin max bid, so beware and make sure you understand what you are betting if you do wander into the casino. -
I don't know how you found this, but THANK YOU! I don't know if I'm just cracking up, but all of the links I clicked on had no info for KSF. I've easily found it in the past by clicking on the exclusions link, but it just wasn't showing up for me.
-
That's one of the links I have been clicking. Does it have the exclusions listed for you? Because it brings me to the same page the other links bring me to. And that page doesn't discuss KSF.
