  1. Just got off Anthem and ended up at the Next Cruise desk...ended up booking this as a special mom/sons cruise (my husband booked Liberty to Bermuda in Sept for a dad/daughters cruise). I'm looking forward to getting to relax, the boys will be 11 and 13 and can fend for themselves while I read in peace.
  2. I just got off Anthem today and I'm having this exact issue. I selected my 100 photos and only 62 are included in the link the email - and one is DEFINITELY one I didn't select, as it is another family. I didn't look closely to see if there were others we didn't select. I sent a message via Facebook asking exactly who to contact so I can hopefully avoid being bounced around. Seems every time we purchase this we have an issue. I love having the photos, and each time I do end up with them, but normally the issues are taken care of prior to getting off the ship. This time the email didn't come through until a few hours after we got off the ship so I couldn't have them help me. I almost wish I had spent the $10 to get the thumb drive just to avoid this. But then again, who knows if the right pics would have even been on it.
  3. I like getting the photo package. The last few cruises have been $125. My next cruise has been at $180, now dropped to $150. Refreshment Package is $19.99 - that is officially the most we have ever paid for it, but considering the prices I have been seeing lately, I'll settle for that. My husband loves his lattes.
  4. I know Matt made a blog post outlining the details of which sailings are excluded, but just want to point out specifically for those that just booked Alaska 2024, it does apply. I didn't realize it until my invoice from my TA came back to me (just transferred the booking), and it was $1600 less than when I booked on Monday. Thrilled with my savings, and extra thrilled now that I bit the bullet and booked the 2 bedroom grand suite! I knew 2023 was blocked out for Alaska, so I just assumed 2024 would be, too. This was a nice surprise this morning.
  5. Nothing to book on Anthem for Thanksgiving. Checked on the Cruise Planner, not the app.
  6. We do this each cruise, because my parents are diamond plus so we book one in each of our cabins for the discount. Then when we get onboard we go to guest services and we get the right keycard, with the correct charging privileges, for each room. An adult from each room has to be there to approve things.
  7. My experience was a bit different because some of my kids were in my suite and some were in my parent's balcony (thought we were adopting another child, so we had to upgrade our balcony to a junior suite that fit 5). As far as boarding went - there wasn't a line when we got there so that didn't matter. We never tried to get dinner reservations at Coastal Kitchen, which I was bummed about but I figured I shouldn't ditch half the kids. So really we didn't take advantage of any of the perks. BUT - if it wasn't our immediate family in another room you bet we would have taken advantage of the suite benefits! Especially if we were in a suite that had more benefits.
  8. Anyone else's app have this listed as a 5 day out of Texas? Online says the right thing, but my husband got very confused when he logged in and saw a 5 night cruise out of Texas - poor guy assumed I booked another random cruise
  9. We got it for $16.99+gratuities (total was $140.28) for our upcoming Thanksgiving cruise, but we booked it during last Black Friday's deals. After that the lowest we have seen it go is $22.99.
  10. Glad that testing is dropped, one less thing to worry about for all our upcoming cruises. For anyone curious - Still waiting to be assigned room numbers for all 4 rooms. ETA: Aug 29 we were finally all switched to our original rooms. Glad that's all settled!
  11. They told the TA that they haven't began assigning balcony rooms yet and that is why we see GTY as our room number. Which is obviously not true since @Firefly got assigned her hump balconies. And no info on if they are extending the deadline for us. Not that I can see a reason for us to rebook (unless they somehow mess up and give us a room that isn't a balcony. My mom and I suffer from severe claustrophobia so the balcony is non-negotiable for at least two rooms. But I'm hoping they can't screw up that badly). But for them to say we need to have made a decision by Aug 18 without them finishing our transfer is a bit silly.
  12. Lucky! Our 4 rooms somehow got switched to guaranteed rooms. Sending an email to the TA now so she can deal with this. We have had rooms in different parts of the ship before, and it isn't a big deal. But considering this one is for Christmas it's a bit more important to me that the two rooms for my immediate family be really close. I don't plan on bringing much in the way of presents, but whatever I do bring I was counting on just sneaking onto their balcony via our balcony (we had aft rooms booked on the 6th floor, so if anything were to be dropped during this maneuver it would be easy to retrieve based on how the layout is there - these dividers don't open so can't just walk room to room. I had the whole thing planned out)
  13. My parents and my friend's parents bought a horse one cruise when I was a teen. It was a blast decorating it, bringing it around the ship, and getting people on your "team." There was a fun rivalry in the MDR between the horse owners. I had forgotten about the horse racing - thanks for bringing back memories!!
  14. There used to be, I didn't see it for our last cruise and not sure I have for this coming cruise. But it was pricey and only included transportation, not admission. And it drops you off at the Transportation and Ticket Center (which is walking distance to the Poly), so then you still have to hop a Disney bus to get where you want to be on property. ETA: just looked, they aren't offering it for my November cruise. But they are offering transportation to the Florida Mall, for $48/person. I want to say that was about what it was for them to drive you to/from Disney.
  15. We either stay on the boat that day or go down to the beach by Ron Jon's. I love Disney, we go a few times a year. But even having annual passes we wouldn't find it worth it to drive all that way just for a few hours. And there is nothing in Disney Springs that would entice me enough to take that drive (due to cost of an Uber/rental car. That would add so much money on to whatever shopping/eating you'd be doing in Disney Springs!). My sons and husband just went down to Disney for a few days and went to NASA on the last day before heading to the airport- the boys are 10 and 12 and loved it.
  16. Last cruise we signed up for a Learn to Play option via the Cruise Planner. I think it was $20, gave us $20 worth of chips (whatever the cost was that was the value of chips we received), and 2 free drinks. It disappeared from the cruise planner not long after we booked it, and I haven't seen it offered on any of the Cruise Planners since. I keep hoping it shows up again for our future cruises, because it was a great deal! Even if it doesn't come up again, I will definitely go to the Learn to Play sessions anyhow. It was nice to learn in a relaxed environment - I'm too chicken to play when people are around.
  17. I don't use elevators so I always want somewhere around the 6th floor so it is easier access to the dining room, promenade, etc. I avoid higher floors for this reason. I like the stuff on the lower floors more. So I guess it is just your preference on which area of the ship you frequent. We like our Deck 6 balcony just fine for views. As for the Royal Up bid - I wouldn't have bid for an ocean view from a Central Park view. I would have tried for a junior suite at the lowest, but again if you wanted that water view then it isn't a bad option. Just different things different people prefer.
  18. Just be aware that the ship price may very well be more than the cruise planner price. So it may be the same BOGO offer, but it still works out to be more money. (a friend didn't think they needed the plan, but after Day 1 saw how much she and her husband had spent and bought it on board. She was so excited because it was BOGO - but when I asked her how much she actually paid, it was a lot more than the BOGO my family members had gotten on the cruise planner). Royal Math is funny like that.
  19. We haven't had any issues driving from CT. We live near New Haven and are usually home after the cruise by 10am. It is so easy once you get there to park, and after the cruise getting the car is also really easy.
  20. While it probably would have been safe with just the passport, we sent the birth certificate too. But Royal only looked at the passport, nothing else.
  21. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/minor-traveling-without-parent-or-guardian-form.pdf This is the consent to travel form that will cover you. ETA: it wasn't looked at last month getting on Oasis out of Bayonne, but better safe than sorry
  22. Thanks, I will call with her credit card number and pay! Every day at least once per day I have been selecting a bunch of offers so I will get more and still have not received the RCCL one. But I keep trying!
  23. I didn't get this on my card, but my sister did. She said there is a link and you have to pay online. Is that true? You can't call to pay? She was going to let me use her card to pay off part of my cruise so I could save money, but it is booked through a travel agent so I can't pay online.
  24. From our experience it is digital OR print. We've done the package twice now on Anthem for 100 prints and each time we had to choose one way or the other.
